  1. No it was just Midnight. I had forgotten he was in more then one episode though. It was just cool hearing his voice, especially since I had actually rewatched The Tick cartoon, not too long ago before the Amazon series premiered. I recognized him immediately.
  2. Just watched the second half of Amazon's Tick series. Love how comic-booky the series gets its second half, considering how strangely serious the first half-was. A bit weird to watch a Tick series with a legit story-arc, but it actually works. Serafinowicz is a good Tick, and Griffin Newman is a great Arthur, also Jackie Earle Haley is practically unrecognizable as The Terror. I especially loved Townsend Coleman's voice cameo in the last episode, which was a really nice touch. Good stuff.
  3. Red Sparrow - A decent spy thriller that surprisingly is quite hard R, and violent. Lawrence is very good, and I love Newton Howard's overture at the beginning. My biggest complaint however is that I didn't buy the romance between her and Edgerton. It seemed fake, even if that appeared to be the intent. There was some bloody imagery too, so I suspect those with weak stomachs may not enjoy it as much. - 7 / 10
  4. A Wrinkle in Time - Overall found it to be a mix bag. Visually it was a gorgeous treat, but as an adaptation, I was slightly disappointed. I guess the biggest issue has to do with how hard it is to adapt the novel. You can go so many places with it. The dialogue was clumsy at points as well. Storm Reid and the rest of the actors were great however. - 6 / 10
  5. I'm pretty sure I must have seen it in a Quebec airport once. I guess I'm just going off alleged "common sense". It seems obvious, maybe not so much.
  6. My review of Annihilation - https://dailyuv.com/feed/946220?location=norwich-vt
  7. The Big Lebowski - Celebrated its 20th anniversary a few day ago. Still a classic. 8.5 / 10
  8. Just about loved The Shape of Water's win. My favorite film of 2017. Plus now The Three Amigos all have Oscars. Also quite like Get Out's screenplay win, and Denkins finally getting his due. The show went on for far too long, but the wins were not bad.
  9. Hey, I understood the film just fine. It's not that "pretentious".
  10. Annihilation - Still processing it, but it was fantastic. The last thirty minutes were basically an exercise in existential fear. - 8.5 / 10
