  1. Well that was because that was rushed and done at the last minute, as well as bringing a whole new meaning to the term "it looks like a video game". Rather lazily too. Rogue One being better goes without saying.
  2. Phantom Thread - Finally glad I got to see it, because it's SO good. Such a simple story in many respects, but PTA does such an outstanding job of telling it. DDL is superb as ever, but Krieps is the real revelation. She's great, and brings a lot of "humanity" to the film. Greenwood's score is also excellent, and works wonderfully in the film as well. - 8.5 / 10
  3. Get Out (Rewatch) - 9 / 10 The Great Wall - Visually it's mostly gorgeous (as to be expected), there's a decent Chinese mythology around it, and the last act is very enjoyable, but it's also quite talky at points much to its determent. Damon seems a bit out of place at points too, but he's not bad. A mixed bag. - 6 / 10
  4. Happy birthday to one of the people who helped shape my love for film, and film music in general. A legend.
  5. Split - Intense, interesting at points character study with a great performance by McAvoy. Definitely M. Night's best in years. The dialogue's silly as to be expected, but I enjoyed it for the most part. I don't recommend watching it with your mother though, especially one who can't handle violence. That was a mistake. Lol. - 7.5 / 10
  6. You might say its "very violent", however the action scenes put most modern western action movies to shame. They're amazing.
  7. John Wick 2 - Rewatch it with my mom already. She thought it felt like a video game. Ha. - 7.5 / 10
  8. I get the impressions that Johnson had a lot of say, but he also to follow strict guidelines regarding certain story elements and characters, which is typical of these kinds of franchise films.
  9. Someone on IMDb just added his name to IO at one point, because they could. It would have been interesting, but I doubt he was ever really approached. Basically "rumors".
  10. So I'm guessing confederacy is DOA. This could be quite good and interesting. I'm down.
  11. Looks entertaining. Then again I do have a soft spot for dinosaurs in general, so I might be a bit biased in that regard.
  12. Looks awesome. This series has surprisingly turned out to be one of the more consistent movie franchises out there. That helicopter sequence is gonna be crazy good.
  13. Jim & Andy - Really interesting look into how an actor can get absorbed into a certain role. I'm not sure I'll ever look at Carrey the same way again. 8.5 / 10
  14. Oh whoops, I was more referring to the lack of what appears to be actual Han Solo, but it's a short advertisement, so really that's just nitpicking. My bad. For what it is, the ad is pretty good.
  15. I liked that ad / teaser. Some cool images, and Glover looks well-cast. Not much else to base things off though, so hard for me to make a final judgment. Discouraged by the lack of actual Han Solo shots though.
  16. John Wick 2 - Some damn awesome scenes. A worthy follow-up. - 7.5 / 10
  17. And I'm only in my 20's, so I probably know nothing of the sorts. "Kids these days!"
  18. Well I'd be hardpressed or have never heard anyone describe BTTF as a "kids film". It's more like a typical 80's teen comedy, with a huge sci-fi twist, that as a result happens to appeal hugely to children, despite the fact that a lot of the content is not exactly appropriate for say six years old. The problem with defining something as a kids film, is that a kids film is usually a movie that appeals sorely to kids. Movies like Star Wars are much more broader with their audience, and aren't say sorely limited to "babysitting watching" or something. That's my two cents anyway.
  19. The Shape of Water The Last Jedi Phantom Thread Three Billboards Dunkirk (Very effective in the film though)
  20. Guessing Brian Tyler is scoring this. So Kraemer not returning is probably Cruise's doing. Disappointing.
  21. What the hell, he did McQuarrie's first three films, so I wonder why he didn't do this one. Who's even scoring this? At this point are they even gonna have a score? So many questions, and damn, that's so disappointing to read.
  22. Film looks fun. A giant pez dispenser. Amazing!
