  1. These reviews are next level good. Oh shit!!! Could this be a best picture nominee?
  2. The Underminer is definitely among my favorite of his roles. Putting him at the ending was perfect. "Behold, the Underminer! I'm always beneath you, but nothing is beneath me! I hereby declare war on peace and happiness! Soon, all will tremble before me!"
  3. Why would John Ratzenberger not be in it? He's been in every Pixar film. Ha!
  4. First Romero now Landau, what the hell. Everyone's gonna bring up Ed Wood as they should, but lets not forget that one of Landau's earliest roles was as Vandamn's accomplish Leonard in North By Northwest. He was also superb in Crimes & Misdemeanors. Great actor. RIP!
  5. Wow this is unexpected. Both Dawn & Day are among my favorite films and amazing examples of the zombie genre but he did other films too. In particular I quite enjoy his modern medieval biker film Knightriders. Long, but good. RIP!
  6. The comcast service was just absolutely shitty (it was the best I had and I hate comcast like any sane person). I could watch the film, but it freezed every two minutes. I wasn't a fan.
  7. No, the service I watched it on was so bad with the freezing and skipping, that it ruined the experience of the film for me. I need to rewatch it on a better system at least.
  8. Probably because it was treated like a much smaller film, and it's not based off a well Disney film. Good movie though. I can imagine it was hard to get Irons back. I'm sure they considered his name at least.
  9. Gotta love how they're basically going "this film's not a repeat of Empire, we swear". Ha, ha. Great "behind the scenes" look though.
  10. Seems like a pointless re-release to me. Oh well, this is just more push to get me to buy E.T. on blu-ray anyway.
  11. Great mix of electronics and traditional orchestra. For a later Barry score too, there are a decent amount of themes as well. The Mujaheldin theme is excellent, though I would have liked to have seen the Russian sounding Koskov motif develop into a full fledge theme, it's still great.
  12. Honestly I don't even think Nolan's insufferable when he speaks. If anything I just find him uninteresting in interviews a lot of the time. I do like hearing him talk about films though.
  13. The Edge of Seventeen - 7.5 / 10, could have been higher if the service I was watching it on didn't freeze every two minutes.
  14. I've been familiar with that remake for years, but have yet to see it. It always sounded interesting, I just never got around to seeing it. Guess I oughta change that ASAP.
  15. I've seen it three times now. It's amazing and definitely one of the greatest westerns of all time, very reflective of the genre too. The cast is great, especially Hackman as the villain (definitely deserved his Oscar). The climax involving the gun-fight is superb as well. So lets just say for being Eastwood's last Western it ain't half-bad.
  16. Brody was also great in Detachment, a little known film about a teacher. He's a considerably better actor then Arnold though, although Arnold was much more charming of course.
  17. Spidey Man Homecoming - 8.5 / 10 -Just got back from the cinemas and really enjoyed this. Possibly my favorite Spider-Man film to date, or at least tied with SM2. Holland is a great as both Spider-Man and Peter Parker, and I really liked the high school aspect of the character being explored more, plus him and Stark's relationship was also good Also Keaton made for a really great Vulture, the scene in the car with him and Peter was legit terrifying. My only complaints were Flash Thompson being an annoying stuck-up rich kid (thankfully he doesn't have too many scenes), and some of the references, but those were more minor nitpicks then anything. Job well done Marvel.
  18. Well in those case those last scenes aren't really "montages", as much as its a big moment. TDKR was the only one to feature a montage of sorts, and the last scene was still a "next generation of Batman" thing.
  19. Montages are always set to pop songs these days. I can't even recall the last mainstream film that had a montage that featured some stirring orchestral music. It's been far too long.
  20. Heck even some of the early 2000s blockbusters brought us music that was actually noticeable and present during the film. These days the only time I ever notice music that much is when it plays over the credits, which is not a great sign.
  21. Modern Hollywood is literally afraid of any moviegoer remembering the score at this point, and they're "anti-theme". It's insane.
  22. Even Besson abandoned him for Valerian. Preferring instead to use Desplat. Edit: Beaten, lol.
  23. I'm not sure it's a library simple as much as it's just Zimmer doing his "own thing". I just wish his "own thing", excited me more then it does based off that one cue.
