  1. There’s also a trailer made by Joe Sikoryak as he’s been doing for every Intrada release since the two Lifeforces: Yavar
  2. Said a bit differently, unlike the JJ Abrams films which are mostly just fun popcorn movies, TLJ actually is *about something*. I challenge anyone to tell me exactly what TRoS in particular is about, lol… And even though I despise the prequels and think them worse than the sequel trilogy (even TRoS) in most ways, like I dunno script and characters, at least George Lucas clearly intended them to be about something too. Yavar
  3. Roger’s “upcoming” lists are never comprehensive, so you shouldn’t take that as a definite… though Williams would be an odd name to leave off if he’s coming. Yavar
  4. So you hope — and find it more likely — that they decided to bring back Short Round earlier in the development stage, and possibly recast him while the original actor was apparently retired, but think it very unlikely that that the new ending might be to film a cameo with the actor after he’s made a high profile comeback. Fine. I’m not saying my scenario is a sure thing or even likely, but it seems a lot more plausible to me. Yavar
  5. Your bringing up recasting the character clearly indicated a lack of understanding of the scenario I was suggesting MIGHT be possible. Yavar
  6. It’s obviously too late for anything more than a cameo, but a cameo can certainly still be done well even if the character isn’t integral to the plot. I’m rapidly losing investment in trying to explain this to you. I am suggesting that they might ONLY consider bringing the character back for a cameo at this point BECAUSE the actor after two decades away from acting is suddenly prominent in the public spotlight again, getting positive press, and clearly still has magical chemistry with Ford. But you’re going off about recasting the character so you clearly have some kind of mental block on what I’m talking about. Yavar
  7. Not on Cobra Kai it hasn't. The secret is doing it WELL. Just because it was done poorly in a disappointing movie over a decade ago doesn't mean James Mangold couldn't do it well here. What would be the point of recasting? That would be SO weird. And you seem determined not to acknowledge that with the sudden and unexpected rise in the actor's profile after most of the film was done, the calculus may have changed. I'm not saying it WILL happen. I just think its a possibility -- one which you seem strangely invested in shooting down, for some reason. Yavar
  8. Oookay… and now it’s just somewhat uncommon? Again, is it really so hard for you to conceive a scenario where the actor wasn’t under consideration for inclusion before his dramatic comeback, but then after his dramatic comeback and high profile reunion with Harrison Ford, it occurred to someone THEN that bringing him for a touching cameo might be nice to do? Yavar
  9. That’s entirely fan speculation though. Cavill himself has not said anything to that effect, let’s be clear. Yavar
  10. Would shipping be any cheaper from Music Box? Yavar
  11. Why is this so hard to comprehend? It’s not about whether he would have said yes or no if asked. He wasn’t on ANYONE’s radar as a currently-working actor, when Indy 5 was being filmed much less when it was conceived and written! He hadn’t had a role in TWO DECADES. The impression most people had of him, until he decided (based on Crazy Rich Asians) that he might be able to return to Hollywood acting, was of a child star who had permanently retired from acting as so many child stars do. There is no reason they would choose to write him into a movie at the time this film was being written. This is Lucasfilm we are talking about, not the Cobra Kai showrunners who do crazy things and bring original actors out of retirement decades later. That is highly uncommon. Then in a crazy bit of timing, after the movie has been essentially filmed and finished, the actor comes back out of nowhere with Everything Everwhere All At Once, getting TONS of positive press about this comeback in major publications. Add to that his highly visible warm reunion with Harrison Ford at D23 afterwards, and you don’t think it’s *possible* that, with the film still over half a year from release date, SOMEBODY at Lucasfilm (or maybe Harrison Ford, or James Mangold himself) said, “heyyy… how about we bring him in for one scene in Indy 5?” Yavar
  12. Secondary market? It’s in print and in stock directly from LLL right now, Thor: https://lalalandrecords.com/superman-iv-the-quest-for-peace-limited-edition-2-cd-set/ Yavar
  13. Why would they? He had apparently retired from acting decades previously! Then all of a sudden he appears in a big hit, Everything Everywhere All At Once, and articles like this show up: https://www.indiewire.com/2022/04/ke-huy-quan-returned-to-acting-crazy-rich-asians-1234715730/amp/ https://people.com/movies/why-indiana-jones-and-goonies-kid-star-ke-huy-quan-quit-acting-for-20-years-inside-his-return/ https://www.latimes.com/entertainment-arts/awards/story/2022-11-07/ke-huy-quan-can-again-embrace-his-dream-of-acting?_amp=true I wouldn’t be at all surprised if it took the meeting with Harrison Ford and all the positively elated buzz about that before people said, “Huh, we really missed an opportunity here.” Yavar
  14. I guess because they see her as a “woke feminist” based off of Fleabag and/or Solo and/or their incorrect ideas about what she contributed to the No Time To Die script? Yavar
  15. Why? I’m certainly grateful that the joyful, energetic, and creative Looney Tunes: Back in Action was Jerry Goldsmith’s final score, even though he sadly didn’t get to compose the finale of it and John Debney had to do a few inferior cues there… Yavar
  16. This is not a Rise of Skywalker situation. All that’s being newly done is the ENDING, based on what Williams said. I know what my hope is… this film was shot before Ke Huy Quan returned to acting after decades away from it. Maybe this reunion at D23 led to some last minute conversations to take advantage of the extra buffer time before this film’s release, and give a very powerful onscreen relationship (easily the best part of the generally-problematic ToD) some lovely closure of some kind… Just a hope, but I can dream. Obviously it’s far too late for him to be integrated into the movie. “Another ending” seems like it might just fit. I’m surprised more people’s minds aren’t going to this hopeful possibility, but then I guess the men’s rights “they shall not replace us” trolls really do have their panties in a bunch about Phoebe Waller Bridge being in this, and they’re the loudest voices on the internet. 🙄 Yavar
  17. Correct — it couldn’t possibly be, Mr. Sarcastic. That stupid bullshit rumor (based on nonexistent test screenings?) is only “alleged” by internet trolls wanting to throw a tantrum about something. It has zero basis in fact. On the other hand those of us thinking it MIGHT be for a Short Round cameo aren’t asserting it as a fact, merely a potential (fool’s) hope based on a lovely pair of photos taken of the two actors reuniting not that long ago. Those bullshit rumors centered on the whole damn plot of this thing; it’s not as if the ending was the only objectionable part right, in this imagined version of the film where Phoebe Waller-Bridge replaces Indy throughout history? 🙄 So they’d have to reshoot A LOT OF THE MOVIE. And that’s not what’s happening. Yavar
  18. This is exactly what “new ending to shoot” made me think of. This film was originally shot before that actor returned to acting. But if this is Ford’s last acting role it would be such a shame if Short Round didn’t show back up for an on-screen reunion. Yavar
  19. Almost halfway through the campaign (just over 15 days remaining) and despite reaching its goal after little more than a couple days in, it's continued to get backers and now stands at over 117%! If you haven't jumped in yet for only 6 pounds (just over 7 US dollars), you should! It's essentially a pre-order at this point, for two Goldsmith TV score premieres in complete form. Yavar
  20. What’s wrong with the release? I admit I never purchased it because I’m not a big fan of the score. Yavar
  21. I’m sure that the Return of the Seven LP is a straight up misleadingly-labeled re-recording of the original Magnificent Seven score. That’s been discussed for years and years… like this post from expert Bob DiMucci: https://www.filmscoremonthly.com/board/posts.cfm?threadID=144920&forumID=1&archive=0 What I’m not sure about is how much new material Bernstein contributed to the actual sequel score as recorded for the film. Hopefully this set’s liner notes say more about this even though the recording was lost. And actually I see in that above thread I linked that the Marlboro LP actually claims to have original music from Return of the Seven in addition to the original Magnificent Seven, so maybe I’m a little wrong and that’s where we can find some music actually written for the first sequel score… Yavar
  22. That was already released (complete, I think) by Universal Music France in 2012: https://www.discogs.com/release/6651799-Maurice-Jarre-Topaz-LEtau What we really need officially released is an expansion of Addison’s underrated Torn Curtain score (the 28 minute Decca album is all we have), paired with everything Herrmann recorded of his own score at the time of the film. Oh. And an official release of the original Psycho recording, of course, plus any other Herrmann/Hitchcock original recordings which survive in the Universal vaults (no offense to the rerecordings). Yavar
  23. So yeah, discs 1, 3, and 4 on this set are the actual film recordings/performances (albeit 4 only survived on stems alas, so the sound quality won’t be as good as the great sounding 3—in stereo—or even 1, which I only survived the ages in mono but not from stems). Return of the Seven, the first sequel score, appears to be completely lost. In its place Quartet has provided the ALBUM Bernstein newly recorded in 1966, the year the sequel film was released. That album was titled and marketed at the time as “Return of the Seven” (and I’m sure Quartet therefore contractually had to do the same, here) but it was really just Bernstein’s very first album recording of the original The Magnificent Seven score — just look at the track titles for confirmation! He inexplicably wasn’t asked to do an album at the time of that popular original film (which is what he of course put the greatest effort into!), so this was his way to rectify that using the excuse of the sequel film as a tie-in, and the record label actually slapped the title and artwork from the sequel film on the album to make it even more confusing for fans (but they figured it out pretty quick). It’s good that Quartet is including this album (and pairing it with that Marlboro County LP’s CD premiere was a brilliant bonus decision) but this is not music fit to picture and recorded for Return of the Seven, only a new recording of the original Mag7 film score, produced just a few years later rather than decades later like Bernstein did in the 90s. I’m actually most interested in this great looking new box set because of 1) Chris Malone restorations and 2) a big liner notes booklet from Frank DeWald, which presumably researched and explains some of this background, and Bernstein’s involvement on the sequel scores.
