Oh god, I had forgotten about that! I think the trailer did have some misdirects too, if I recall. And the trailer music they used (not from the film) was very action-oriented hahaha. Was very late 90s/early 2000s of them to hype it up like some intense thrill ride when in reality it was more of a moody atmospheric mystery film.

I think the cast and the basic premise sold the movie to audiences. Back then, movie stars usually still carried a film's success compared to today. Are there any true movie stars left that are guaranteed to sell tickets?

I liked it a lot, and it has some amazing cinematography and "impossible" camera moves, that Zemeckis is so good at.

Always loved this film and score! Shame about all the spoilers in the listing (and some of the track titles too, if you read into them). The movie always felt cozy to me? The perfect rainy/gloomy weather, staying in at home for the day kind of film. I remember it being a bit of a hit at the time (unless I am mistaken) and was even parodied in one of the "Scary Movie" films. A shame it kind of got forgotten after that, so I hope this release may convince more to watch it.

Then again, given how critical we have all become, I'm sure some will see it as derivative trash and wonder what the hell I ever saw in it. Oh well.

They'd get away with it if they were spoiling ESB, but this is not a huge movie and a lot of people will never have seen it. I think I've seen bits, but I certainly hadn't remembered the ending.

Sigh. I've never seen this movie and now I know...
Varese copywriters probably thought this is a 23 (almost 24) year old movie, so the "spoiler rule" doesn't apply anymore.

I'm more sad that they don't include who produces, edits, mixes, and masters a new Deluxe Edition as part of their press release, over the spoiler thing.

No samples any more either.  Or track times.

The latter two are likely a result of being gobbled up by Concord.  The former is a choice the writer of the press releases makes.

What Lies Beneath is a DreamWorks/Fox co-production. (So maybe it got through because DreamWorks has the US rights.)

He clearly adores the Orville (As I do with the depths of my very soul), so hopefully if needs be, and the studio gets difficult, he can say "okay disney, if you want to make any more massive amounts of money from me on this property, give me what I want."

By the sounds of it, he wont stop until more Orville is made, and so too the rest of the cast and crew.

Thank you Seth, for fighting for the Orville.

Boy, did we get #2 wrong. I have a track from Doom which appeared in Top Gear years ago.

Does anyone do samples any more?

"According to Spielberg, Williams repeatedly tells him that he’s waiting for his next assignment. “Every time we see each other,” Spielberg says, “Johnny asks, ‘Are you working on our next film?’ Because John has been my primary creative partner across my entire film career. And that’s not gonna end until we do.”"

I would love another big Williams score, but when I look at the Indy 5 soundtrack, for which he had to resort to copying old works to fill in the blanks despite having lots of time due to the constant delay of release, I don't think that he has a big action wall to wall score in him any more. Once you get that old, the energy level just goes down and everything takes much more time. But on the other hand if this movie is more of a kind like Fabelmans or the Post, requiring no wall to wall scoring, he might still be able to pull it off, if he really wants to do it and it really happens in the next 1-2 years.

By the way, what I would really like is him writing another Tintin score, but I think that window of opportunity is passed, even if another Tintin movie will be made one day.

He said recently he's always asking Steven what he's doing next, and he recently said he'd be open to more films if his schedule and interest allows. And he'll keep writing music while he's able to - that is how he enjoys life. I think the only significant thing he said regarding movies was that he would be reluctant to take on a project as big as a Star Wars score - something that requires about 6 months plus of work to a schedule and millions of notes.

But after he said that, he opted to tackle the entire Indy 5 score after initially only signing up to write a few themes. I personally don't feel there's any big change in his working life, except a little less conducting of entire concerts and more international travel for concerts than during most of his 80s. Those international trips seem to be Williams enjoying life - if not more then at least a little differently from his daily routine.

I doubt the film ever comes to fruition. I don't believe a new Spielberg film is on the horizon until I know he's actually out and about, shooting it.

Hopefully it's a season 4, and not a followup movie, but I'll take either!
