Fargo got a reaction from Edmilson in The Rise of Skywalker SPOILERS ALLOWED discussion thread
Why do we care anymore? Star Wars died in 1997. The grave was set afire in 1999. The ashes of that calamity were pissed on in 2002, in the form of CGI Yoda jumping around like a goblin from a fever dream.

Fargo reacted to Thor in Braveheart
You're absolutely right. A modern masterpiece!
Here's a story for ya: When I attended the Horner concert in Vienna a few years ago, with the composer present, I was seated next to a young girl (Horner was actually sitting just right in front of me, to the right). On her lap was a poster of BRAVEHEART of some kind, probably something she wanted signed. As the BRAVEHEART music was performed, I could clearly see she was moved to tears. As a consequence, I was moved to tears too. I mean, I've always loved the film and score, but to see that young girl, she couldn't be more than 14-15 years old, react so strongly to a score that was written way before she was born, I just found immensely moving.

Fargo got a reaction from Edmilson in Official Danny Elfman Thread
Just listened to "Opening" from the Dolittle score. Sounds exactly like Dumbo/Grinch/Oz/Alice. Which I don't think is exactly a good thing.

Yeah but didn’t you read that comic from four years ago, Kylo’s Krazy Kerfuffle, issue 14, page 24 - clearly explains how the Knights of Ren are force sensitive.

Fargo reacted to Jay in Which expanded soundtrack from the last decade has been the greatest improvement over the OST?
I think next up would be some John Williams expansions that come to mind
A.I. Artificial Intelligence added so much crucial music that wasn't on the OST, like the many cues that setup the Blue Fairy theme before it pays off at the end, and a much longer time spent in the first act at the Swinton household really helps set up everything that happens at the end of the score
Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone certainly had a lengthy OST, but when you factor in how it was a hybrid of concert arrangement and film cues, when you separate them out you end up with a nice, lengthy film score presentation with so much more going on than you could hear on the OST album, like a lot more Voldemort theme and a lot of nice underscore instead of just set pieces, plus the entire Children's Suite is so nicely listened to as its own little mini-album as a bonus instead of chopped up and mixed between random film cues.
Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets had a lengthy OST too, but I'd say the wrong cues were chosen to represent the full score on it. The amazing Chamber theme only appears in the concert arrangement on the album, when the film score features fantastic develops of it through and not a single one of those cues made the OST, nor did some other cues of completely original material, with the OST instead sometimes featuring cues that straight-up reprised HPSS arrangements for some reason. The new main program is just so much more satisfying.
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban again had a pretty lengthy OST, not as long as the others if you factor out the repeated material at the end, and there is just such a variety of different ideas that no 75 minute presentation could ever hope to cover them all. The OST doesn't include some of the most memorable aspects of the whole score at all, like the harpichord for Peter Pettigrew, or Sirius's rescue at the end. The expanded release really makes all the work JW did for this film shine brightly

Gods, what a stupid plot device.

Fargo reacted to Arpy in The Rise of Skywalker SPOILERS ALLOWED discussion thread
I interpreted the final scene as Rey merely visiting the Lars Homestead, not living there. She walks away from it at the end, so it was more of a monument than a home.

Fargo reacted to Edmilson in John Williams cameo in The Rise of Skywalker
I misread the title of the article as "John Williams' penis" and was wondering why Burligame would be interested on that.

I find AOTC in no way an improvement over TPM personally.

Fargo reacted to ocelot in John Powell's SOLO: A STAR WARS STORY (2018) - Deluxe Edition 2020 / Intrada 2-CD edition October 31, 2023
What are you so angry about? I'm telling you what I heard in LA seeing as I also work in the industry (lord it upsets some people when I say that but oh well)
I said Allegedly because I did not hear it obviously from the horses mouth (Williams) I'm just relaying what was said from reliable sources who have no interest in either party in any other way. Is it too unfathomable that Williams did not like the score. It's not exactly that musical in many ways. The guy can hardly modulate..... Please, lol..... Plus Williams is notorious to be very difficult about his own music to the point of being overly precious, he's not as "nice" as people make him out to be when it comes to his own stuff. Many have said that in the past which is why in most sequels you hear his music as is when it is possible, It is hardly every re-orchestrated. If it is, he would prefer to be involved and make sure it puts his in the best light. The Vader part of RO in the end was dreadful musically, I would not be surprised if that is what some of the complaint was about, but that is completely my own thought. I did not hear what parts he did not like, just that he had gone to Kennedy about it.

I mean, he did predict Palps coming back before the first trailer dropped.

Doubt it. This obviously takes place in the first 15 minutes of the film and is shown to us to just get fans interested and have people talk about it.

STAR WARS
Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker
Psych! Snoke wasn't the bad guy - it was the Emperor. Now watch the movie and enjoy it you fuckers.
And remember: we're going to win this war not by fighting what we hate, but saving what we love. Kathleen out.
