  1. Don't forget to shrink the embedded cover art, it'll cut the massive file size down quite a bit.
  2. I'm the opposite, in that I love when he uses the electronics and occasionally makes it a kind of "Star Wars goes Gangsta" sound. Love it.
  3. BALTO is my ultimate Christmas-sounding but not actually a Christmas score. The vast majority of the score is full of that holiday season sound.
  4. Had a miniscule, teeny-tiny bit of involvement in this one behind the scenes a while back. Glad to see it come to fruition.
  5. Congratulations to Chris for a job very well done, and it was indeed very challenging.
  6. The Batman theme from this score is one of my son's favorite pieces of music.
  7. I did the entire film's audio mix, AND I did separate sequences. I've been doing them for years. I sent you an email with a link to the film with the restored score.
  8. Not at all, no. I wish Horner scores got that type of info in their booklets like Goldsmith scores did.
  9. Correct. It's a joke title, a riff on "Shrimp on the Barbie" from Paul Hogan in the 90s.
  10. Three of us spent all weekend pouring over it to get it right, and one of our designers made the splash art specifically for the article.
  11. Take out that completely utterly fucking stupid joystick on the bridge and that film isn't that bad.
  12. Yeah they're off the FYC, though if you play them at a loud volume you can still hear the birds. More dialed down very low than completely removed. Westenra's vocals are entirely removed on that FYC though. So basically it's like this: disc 1 1. The New World (OST version) 2. First Landing 3. Nature (Forest Textures on FYC) 4. A Flame Within 5. An Apparition in the Fields... 6. Journey Upriver 7. Of The Forest (Bird Demo on FYC) 8. Pocahontas and Smith (FYC has slightly longer oboe intro) 9. Forbidden Corn 10. A New Life (Rolfe Proposes 1 on FYC) 11
  13. I am the guy who made the combined FYC / OST album. I can't believe that was 8 years ago I did that. I titled that cue "Nature" because I didn't really care for the name "Forest Textures". Same with the cue "A New Life". I don't like the names "Rolfe Proposes 1" and "Rolfe Proposes 2" so I gave the former a new title. Just made sense at the time. Adding in the bird / vocal-less versions of cues as bonus tracks off the FYC seemed like the natural thing to do. Below is the custom back cover I'd done for the back of a theoretical CD years ago.
  14. I think he's pretty spot-on. One cannot compare this to any other film series musically, especially its endurance in the public consciousness. Lord of the Rings / Hobbit for example, six films with one composer but that has not and will never resonate as much as Star Wars. Nothing really ever will, nothing has ever come close.
  15. It was never going to be anyone BUT Franglen and he’s worked with James for years. Titanic first, then from Avatar right up to the end of James’ life.
  16. You and me both...thankfully a friend is gifting me a copy. I couldn't have been able to get it otherwise.
  17. They're tagged with the titles so spoilers beware. Tracklist and times. Painfully short cues here.
  18. I'm insanely excited for this, but I just can't press the order button. I almost did but the situation I'm in is so dire, while it would be nice to spoil a little bit and get this album, I can't justify it when food and everything else is a priority for my son and I. The joys of family crises!
  19. It's obvious to me the bonus tracks after the main score presentation on disc 2 contain many cues from the OST.
