I think his last gem so far is the entire sequel trilogy, which is excellent from start to finish.

I missed Danger Zone and it sold out, but I was able to pick up a sealed copy from the Discogs.com store for a very reasonable price (€35 including shipping).

Has a new album been announced or something?Unfortunately not. But it's not impossible that it will be in the future.

Speeded up version to 1.25 normal speed for anyone who finds the pace too slow. I'm not sure if there will be such a version under this link, but you can also do it yourself on YouTube in the video settings.
Of course, this is just for fun. I hope it'll be released in the right quality and at the right pace on the Maestro-prepared album with various fanfares, similar to American Journey / Call of The Champions CD.

I like it, as well. Who's the third person?
It's me. In fact, I love it. Score and the movie.

Violin arrangement of Helena’s Theme! Finished recording last Friday. Last thing they recorded he said. Wow.
I don't know if I understand correctly: This is the last thing they (ASM & JW) ever recorded, so there won't be any more new arrangements? Or it's just the last thing they recorded because it was last Friday?

I'm pretty sure it was Saturday only, with the exception of "Princess Leia Theme", which was performed only on Thursday.

…and the concerto. Plus overlap with the Berlin concert.
He didn't perform the Concerto in Vienna in 2020. The question was about concerts in Vienna in 2020 and 2022. Or at least that's how I understood it.

She wrote on her Facebook that director, Sigrid Faltin, recorded interviews with Williams, among others.
I don't think it'll be widely distributed in cinemas around the world, but let's hope it hits some streaming platforms in the near future.

Exactly. And let's not forget that Jóhannsson was disqualified for "Arrival" because the film opens and closes with Max Richter's "On the Nature of Daylight", used as a score in the film. Neither Bach nor the Golden Age compositions or source songs in "The Fabelmans" are used as score.
Richter's work was so evocative and made such an impression on the audience that the Academy decided that viewers wouldn't be able to distinguish it from Jóhannsson's music.

I think that aside from the possibility that Williams recorded it last March, there's a good chance the Vienna Philharmonic will play this Fanfare at their annual Summer Night Concert at Schönbrunn Palace. The next one will be on June 8. It's broadcast around the world, as is New Year's Concert at Musikverein, and released very quickly in CD, DVD and Blu-ray formats.

Vienna Philharmonic played Williams at Summer Night Concert a few times in previous years.
Three years ago they performed the suite from Dr. Zhivago by Maurice Jarre.

I wonder if anyone's ever made a list of the biggest bombs that won academy awards...
If we look at the Best Score winners, there hasn't been a movie that could be called an 'A box office bomb' in 40 years. I don't know what it was like earlier. There were movies that lost some money like Soul (but it was Covid-19 time), The Right Stuff, The Milagro Beanfield War…

Hurwitz has four Golden Globes out of four nominations. It's madness!
Williams has four Golden Globes out of twenty seven nominations. It's madness!

Which one would you like to delete?
You don't really need to delete anything. The Fabelmans is Williams and Spielberg's 29th feature film collaboration. The possible next movie will be the 30th.

indeed... but the high-res file could as well be that one Pawel P. posted. it's mostly text, header and frame apart... so it's not supposed to be "heavy" in bytes
Fabio, I got it from here:
The link is on this page:
https://en.filarmonica.it/eventi/concerti-straordinari-williams-19-giugno-2022-teatro-alla-scala
So this is the official PDF of the Filarmonica della Scala posted by them on their site.

It would be nice to digitize it in high resolution, but I'm not sure how to go about doing that. Maybe it would be easier to just ask La Scala for a .pdf. They should have one.
This is the PDF version, I think in good resolution. I'm also going to print it and frame it. Could you tell us the original dimensions of it?

This was my fifth John Williams concert, after two in Vienna in 2020 and two in Berlin in 2021 (I don't count London at the Royal Albert Hall for obvious reasons). La Scala is really impressive - inside you feel that you are dealing with great history, a legendary place, a temple of music.
I had a very good view, row N, seat 7, on the left side of the room - neither in Vienna nor in Berlin did I sit so close to the Maestro. I'm glad that he's in very good shape and most of all - that he really enjoys conducting his music in such a place. And that he feels that his fans have a special feeling for him. When someone in the audience shouted, "John, we love you!", he was slightly embarrassed. But there was also a joy in his face.
The program was quite "safe", if I may say so. The highlights were calmer pieces, focused on string instruments: Fawkes the Phoenix, Schindler's List (violinist played beautifully!), Love Theme from Superman, Helena's Theme (It was wonderful to hear it in such quality), Prince's Leia's Theme. I've had never heard them under his baton before.I agree that brass instruments didn't sound as good as with the Viennese or Berliners. But I don't agree that they sounded bad. I didn't like the timpanist parts, especially in Superman March. He wasn't quite accurate, and it was too loud. Maybe it's a matter of La Scala acoustics. And in fact, many pieces were played slower - especially in the middle of Harry's Wonderous World .
I really wanted this concert, like the two previous ones in Europe, to be filmed, but it didn't happen. Now I think that maybe it's good, because beautiful memories will remain, and yet these performances would be rated la little lower than those from Vienna and Berlin. It would be great for Maestro to come to London once again and record such a concert with an orchestra that really knows his music, The London Symphony Orchestra! Maybe next year?
A really great evening, absolutely unforgettable. Just four years ago, I could only dream of hearing and seeing Williams live, and now I've been able to do it for the fifth time. Thank you Maestro. -

No, they aren't filming.
Thanks. I checked that there was a worldwide broadcast on December 7th, so today it would indeed be pointless. I don't have high hopes, but the chances are slightly up

I'm at la Scala tonight, attending to "Boris Godunov". One of the horn players is rehearsing "Harry Potter" :-)
Let us know if "Boris Godunov" is being filmed today. If so, we'll know what those trucks are for (although RAI can film both "Godunov" and Williams)

Been there in Krakow and the Suite sounded fantastic, no generic at all. I spoke to Simon about the chances of a releasing CD. He said that the material was prepared for the CD, but of course it's not up to him to decide.
He promised that he would once again write to people who decide about it. It's obvious he cares about that too.
