I still listen to his scores all the time. I am never tired of his music. Concerning his concert music I like most of it but few of his concert works I love as much as his film music. I only wish that he would present some of his film works as symphonies or romantic concertos. Korngold did that so why not Williams. John Scott gave us The Odyssey of the Belem. So, I would love an E.T. Symphony, or a Seven years in tibet cello concerto. A Superman symphonic poem.... Whatever.

Looking for Dudamel conducting Leaving Home from Superman Footage
kingtolkien replied to GRIGA01's topic in JOHN WILLIAMS
I was always impressed by The odyssey of the Bellem symphony by John Scott and was always wondering what wonderful concert pieces Williams could write based on his scores. Symphonic poems as you mention but also symphonies. An E.T. symphony, An Empire of the sun symphony with chorus, Dracula, The fury, the list is endless. Korngold based his symphony in some of his film scores so why not Williams. I would love to listen to a Jurassic Park symphonic poem. Actually if he had done that fewer of us would complain about his different style of composing in most of his concert pieces. Sigh... -

Funny that Kubrick would select Williams and not Goldsmith for a thriller. Anyway I really wish he would write the score for Titanic and Up. -

Williams expansion predictions/dreams for 2026

Has anybody saw this yesterday? I thought it was the worst new years concert ever. I did not like the conductor at all and orchestra members didnot seem to pay much attention to him. They could probably had many rehearsals though. I also found the selections not to my liking. What do you think?

I would welcome any expansion worked by Mike Matessino. I think that at some point the Indiana Jones scores and the Star wars scores will be expanded by Mike but I hope it will be quite soon. 2026 the Indiana jones scores and 2027 all star wars films. Apart form all these I would like some of hisscores from the 60's and 70's and the Oliver Stone films would be wonderful. Maybe Angela's ashes, Seven years in Tibet, anything really.

John Williams is "working with Steven Spielberg" on his 2026 UFO movie!
kingtolkien replied to Jay's topic in JOHN WILLIAMS
I am so happy about this. I hope he composes the whole score and not have work by others for different parts of the film where variations of themes will be sufficient. And come on give the man his final Oscar. -
No the T.V. film Jane Eyre by John Williams.
-
I was wondering if anybody has any insight on Williams love for Baseball. I saw The Natural recently and loved the Randy Newman score. It was a weird choice for Williams to include it in his oscar ceremony film music segment. I really wish he was given the chance to write the music for a film with a plot around baseball.

Will John Williams score Steven Spielberg's new UFO movie?
kingtolkien replied to Jay's topic in JOHN WILLIAMS
I really hope he is able to do the whole film and not just a few themes. If there are action sequences in the film I would love to score them in detail. If not I will be satisfied with any work he may provide for the film. I really want him to write the music though and be nominated for many awards for this, including the Oscar and finally win it after so many years. That would be epic!
