  1. Amazon.de is currently selling the 2 CD Intrada release of Jaws 2 for 5.25 Euros: https://www.amazon.de/Jaws-2-Soundtrack-John-Williams/dp/B017I09FQ4/ref=zg_bs_5695936031_94?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=MFADHMB27GEYQA7PJ8RD
  2. Japan Philharmonic Orchestra, which released the album John Williams Film Spectacular (85th anniversary collection) earlier this year, will release the one-CD album Star Wars Heptalogy on 22 December in Europe and USA, and on 13 December in Japan. It seems that some of the tracks are taken from the Film Spectacular album. According to amazon.co.jp, using Google translate: https://www.amazon.co.jp/スター・ウォーズ・フィルム・スペクタキュラー-日本フィルハーモニー交響楽団/dp/B075RBWMLJ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1508842429&sr=8-1&keywords=B075RBWMLJ https://www.amazon.co.uk/Star-Spectacular-Japan-Philharmonic-Orchestra/dp/B075RBWMLJ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1508837804&sr=8-1&keywords=B075RBWMLJ https://www.amazon.com/Star-Spectacular-Japan-Philharmonic-Orchestra/dp/B075RBWMLJ/ref=sr_1_1?s=music&ie=UTF8&qid=1508843325&sr=1-1&refinements=p_32%3AJapan+Philharmonic+Orchestra
  3. Here's the Spotify playlist - just under two CDs worth of great music!
  4. The love theme from Superman is included on the Star Wars Saga compilation album (identical to the compilation Star Wars - The Best of Space Music). A great bonus track for the hypothetical JW/BPO/Philips compilation would be Gil Shaham's recording of The Devil's Dance, arranged by JW himself for violin and piano (on the album Devil's Dance on DG). In my opinion, this is even better than the orchestra arrangement.
  5. It would be great to have a compilation of all of JW's recordings of his own music (and arrangements) with the BPO on Philips. This would include the tracks found on the compilation albums By Request and The Star Wars Saga, supplementing with the Jane Eyre suite, The Witches of Eastwick, America, The Dream Goes on, Yes, Giorgio, Fiddler on the Roof, and Swing, Swing, Swing (1941). Any tracks I've missed?
  6. [Drumroll] In November, probably to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Star Wars, there will be three CD-album releases from Walt Disney Records of what seems to be the original soundtrack releases of the original trilogy. All three will probably be single disc releases, as each of the original CDs and LPs had a running time of less than 80 minutes. Hopefully the Empire CD will include the missing LP tracks. Also in November, there's two different LP releases of A New Hope: A 3 LP version titled Star Wars: A New Hope and a single LP version titled Star Wars: A New Hope (40th Anniversary) (Rsd). I can't see there's any new LP releases of Empire or Jedi. In January, Sony Classical will release a 20 CD box named John Williams Conductor (with emphasis on conductor to distinguish him from John Williams the guitarist). This will most likely include both JW soundtracks, concert works, and music by other composers.
