I like to imagine Powell logging into the forum, checking the number of pages this thread has and going "All right! People really liked this score, I'm glad". And then, upon entering, he finds page after page of the greatest insanity that ever graced this forum.

I love how all of this discourse was moved from the TLW thread to the Powell/Solo thread where it belongs

I've been travelling a lot so obviously I put a reminder in my calendar for that day and forgot about it. My calendar deceived me 

They made 4 major mistakes
 
1 - limiting the amount of CDs pressed to a much smaller number than the actual demand for a CD edition
2 - not making it clear that the edition sold on their website was limited to begin with, and not unlimited
3 - not making it clear that their website would be the only place it could be purchased
4 - not deciding to press more once it became abundantly clear there's a demand for many more copies than they initially pressed
 
It's too late to do anything about 1-3, but they could easily do 4 if they wanted to.
 
And every day that goes by without an announcement of a repressing makes it less likely it will ever get one, I think.

I read it as the bog-standard, cut-'n-paste boilerplate wording they'd send to anyone in response to any store item query, sadly.
They've previously specifically tweeted that the CD was a limited run and is sold out so - unless they suddenly unearth some unsold copies or decide to print another run - I imagine we won't see it available from them again.

Oh man, you need to get it. One of my favorite 60s scores by Williams and the FSM release is still available from Screen Archives!

This is the worst title anyone could possibly pick for an article about John Williams. Almost had a fucking heart attack.

I ordered the CD right away, assuming all was fine. 
After my first cinema viewing, I became emotional and thought I should get the vinyl too. I then thought I should add a 2nd CD for dad or a friend just in case it would be sold out...hesitated a little (still believing it would pop up at Amazon) but then gave in.
 
It later turned out that my initial CD order wasn't processed, payment failed, or what so ever...so "phew", I managed to secure one CD copy.

I ordered it as soon as I was aware it was available to be ordered.  My knee-jerk reaction was to wait and order it from Amazon, and hoo boy am I glad that I didn't do that.  I was paranoid that it might be an exclusive and might somehow sell out, but I thought I literally was being paranoid.  Welllll, just because you're paranoid doesn't mean they're not after you, I guess.
 
Really sorry for those of you who got screwed on this.  What a sorry state of affairs.

I would be throwing an absolute TANTRUM right now if I hadn’t ordered because of the sale.  There was just enough chatter about exclusivity right here that I thought, eh a bird in the hand. And I ordered it. And now I hold my breath checking that tracking number every hour. 
 
For those of you who missed out. I am truly, truly sorry.  This isn’t fair.  I’ll do my part and send them a tweet.  This is fixable, if they want to. 

I had no idea it was available for pre-order 😭

Disney not proclaiming that it was a limited release from the outset was either terrible incompetence or a damning indication of how little they care about their fanbase (or a little of both).
