  1. Snoke straight up being severed in half was awesome. And man, I want his throne room!
  2. Why would people think that he doesn't though? People are just looking for any sign of him not liking the music?
  3. I excluded CE3K myself since it's a big blockbuster, kinda. But if it counts, then absolutely that's my favorite.
  4. It could be intentional of course, I'm not saying it definitely isn't. I completely agree it sounds exactly like that bridge part of Battle of the Heroes.
  5. I don't think there are any intentional quotes of Battle of the Heroes in there. But I agree it sounds like it
  6. We all know John Williams got as big he has by writing fantastic scores for franchise blockbusters, but we ALSO know that he can do so much more - so which score is your favorite of his that was written for a film that's not part of a franchise or series? Schindler's List is probably up there for me, but I'm also very fond of JFK and Born on the Fourth of July.
  7. I fucking love it, having listened to all of it a couple of times now. And watched the film.
  8. And the final notes of TLJ seems like "OK maybe I'll do one more" or "Who knows?"
  9. Seen the film, but I will obviously need more time to let TLJ grow on me But I loved it and it was very much in the same style as TFA.
  10. If we're talking score...yes If we're talking movies...also yes. Sorry I just think as a whole I've enjoyed the SEQUEL trilogy scores more than the prequel trilogy ones. The prequel trilogy scores have a lot of razzle dazzle big theme concert pieces, but I prefer the type of leitmotif scoring that's in TFA and TLJ. That's not to say that a single one of these scores haven't been the best score to come out the entire year they were released, because that's pretty much always the case (except for maybe 77 when Close Encounters also came out)
  11. Eh, I've never been a massive fan of AOTC - score or movie. I mean it's Williams, so it's GOOD. But probably my least favorite of the series.
  12. Yeah I understand that. It can sound quite chaotic with all the sound effects in place, and stuff like that
  13. In the theatre it was hard to follow, but on repeat listens the end credit suite is just excellent. Love how it jumps between motifs, I don't think he's ever done that before?
  14. I like that quizzical ending to the end credits where it quotes the start of Rey's theme, it sort of says what will the future hold?
  15. Love the two new themes. Rose's theme is something out of Indiana Jones while the new motif for the Resistance fleet (?) has a nice sense of tragedy and honor to it
  16. I was the opposite of disappointed in TFA, thought it was absolutely fantastic and I still think that. The leitmotif work in it is great.
  17. I don't mind the Zimmer sound when it's good and actually does something interesting (i.e. when Zimmer actually does it himself and is inspired). When it's a generic knockoff, no thanks.
