  1. Did anyone else catch the really cool appearance of Kylo's theme at 1:07 in "A New Alliance"? Trombones play the first three notes, and then if you listen you can hear the horns come in with the fourth note.
  2. 5:01-5:12: Can't get enough of this. Also worth noting that the OST presentation of this is much more enjoyable than the film/FYC version, which is cutdown significantly shorter.
  3. Here's the theme in "Escape": ...And here's the theme in "Finale" (OST): Am I missing something here, anyone? They don't appear to be the same theme.
  4. I've listened to those parts, and recognize those as all being the same theme... (And yes, "Nixon" is definitely what comes to mind.) But I'm still not hearing it in "Escape". Would you happen to have a timestamp that points to exactly what you're referring to? @Jay's timestamps are for the "Battle of the Heroes" part.
  5. Call me crazy, but I don't hear anything remotely like that theme/motif in "Escape"... I assume you're talking about the "Battle of the Heroes"-esque bit? I just don't see how that's at all related to the theme heard in those other tracks.
  6. Is it just me, or do those two horn chords at the beginning of "Escape" (like, a couple seconds in) sound really fake/sample-y...? Also the horns and woodwinds around 0:24. Because that's how it is in the film.
  7. Of course; that's always been clear. My point was that a FREE, officially-released FYC isn't a "bootleg", so download links are allowed. Disney put this out in the wild of their own volition.
  8. I take it this was in response to me? I never said I thought you couldn't discuss film music that hadn't been released officially; @Arpy did: "discussing illegal downloads and sharing is against forum rules here." LOL Now I'm getting confused too.
  9. That's the point; these downloads aren't "illegal". So we can discuss them. Correct?
  10. But my point is that these files, contrary to the OST tracks, are made freely available by the owner. Thus, there is theoretically nothing wrong with sharing them. This isn't like a commercial product Disney is putting on store shelves, like the OST; these are files that are essentially given online. So at the end of the day it doesn't matter where they are downloaded from; Disney is not losing any money by the files that THEY gave out, being spread around the Internet.
  11. It's the string thing in the latter bit of "The Master Codebreaker", if I'm not mistaken.
  12. "Though at first it seems like an ode to the Dark Side, "The Supremacy" is equally evocative of the light. Its themes get repackaged more playfully in "Fun with Finn and Rose," but there's a dangerous undercurrent to both that hints at more than just adventure. The new theme in both of them was introduced in the last moments of The Force Awakens when Rey meets Luke on Ahch-To." Wait... She's saying the "Jedi Steps" theme is in those two tracks???
  13. Is there any way you can cancel it, get a refund and just go to a local store and pick up a copy?
  14. I already couldn't take it seriously from the first sentence of "Welcome to the latest in Mashable's "Club Bangers" series, in which we (I) break down extremely lit albums (film and television scores)..."
  15. Is @Jay or anyone going to do a theme appearances/track analysis post or thread? Just curious. Hearing lots of repeated motifs and mini-themes; trying to track down where they are all found and who/what they likely represent.
  16. Does anyone know if the OST as shipped from Amazon is in a jewel case, or Digipak? Just curious.
