The Illustrious Jerry got a reaction from Pieter Boelen in Extreme polarisation in modern film reception, aka TLJ didn't suck that badly
The thing that made TLJ bad for a lot of people were the people that said it was bad.

Has anyone ever thought of doing a ship that relates to each episode. I like the planet ideas here, but what about ships.
TPM could be the Naboo Cruiser
AotC could be (for lack of a better one) Jango's Slave I or a clone carrier?
RotS could be the fighters Obi Wan and Anakin use at the beginning?
Rogue One could be the imperial ship that Rogue One used to land on Scarif.
A New Hope could be the sand crawler, the falcon, or the land speeder. Even a TIE Fighter or star destroyer. X wing.
Empire could be the walkers-even though they are land based.
RotJ could be Shuttle Tydirium
TFA could be X wing or falcon again.
TLJ could be the supremacy.
Looking back it is hard for some episodes to find a good one, but just an idea.

Same for me and the prequels. First watch, I loved it all. I was a kid, yes, but I would still have that same love for them today had it not been for naysayers. It sucks. I still like them, but when I watch them I can only think of the things other people say about them.
How about we all just shut up? And when IX comes out, there should be a thread for people that liked the movie and a thread for those that didn't. It sounds like something @Bespinwould do to cover art people, but it's worth a shot.

Posted these in another topic the other day. I found the original trilogy somewhere on the internet and just copied the format for the rest. Made Shabbily in Mac Preview..

Great work. I think the RotJ idea is nice. I agree with Coruscant having that role in AotC, although Kamino might be interesting, since it's part of the whole clone army mystery which a lot of AotC revolves around. Plus it would be a different look than a desert Geonosis or industrial Coruscant. TPM is a tough one because Naboo looks so much like earth, but the only other option, Tatooine, makes more sense for ANH. For Solo, go with whatever planet looks the best. So yeah, Kessel looks neat. I think of Rogue One how cool Wobani and Eadu look, and even though they have smaller parts in the movie than Jedha and Scarif, I would certainly buy a CD with cover art like that. Again, you have to think about the planet that is used alot in the movie, but also about the visual appearance. Keep up the great work!!!

Here are my recommendations for the planets on each cover:
Episode I - Naboo
Episode II - Coruscant
Episode III - Mustafar
Episode IV - Tatooine
Rogue One - Scarif
Episode V - Hoth
Episode VI - Moon of Endor, with Death Star II visible in orbit.
Episode VII - Starkiller Base
Episode VIII - Crait

The Illustrious Jerry reacted to Naïve Old Fart in Extreme polarisation in modern film reception, aka TLJ didn't suck that badly
I've now seen TLJ, and I like it.
Personally, I like it a lot more than TFA.
Its funny, thrilling, unexpected, and moving, with moments of visual poetry.
To all the detractors... Johnson wrote it, the main actors (not to mention Kennedy, et. al.) read it, and The Mouse green-lit it. They all had ample time to make changes through production, and in post, if they needed to.
Eventually, this version - the one that they were happy with, presumably - was released last December.
Unfortunately, this is the only EPISODE VIII that we have, or will ever have. Everyone has a right to like it, or to not like it, but to rage against it, is childishly Quixotic.
It's only a movie.

The Illustrious Jerry reacted to Unlucky Bastard in Extreme polarisation in modern film reception, aka TLJ didn't suck that badly
It's so weird, I only got to see the TLJ this week, and after reading all the backlash it received, some very ferocious and passionate polarising reception, I was prepared for an unmitigated disaster.
But then I watched it... and it wasn't really that bad.
Sure it wasn't a masterpiece either. It's just a space opera movie for kids afterall. I recognise its flaws and weaknesses, sure, but fans seem to have amplified those flaws and weaknesses into reasons to blast the whole film away. As if it has absolutely no merit whatsoever.
I've noticed among online film goers in the last few years that their assessment of films has been simplified to binary reception - it was either a masterpiece or a terrible disaster. They give it either a 10/10 or a 0/10. There's no nuance anymore. If it didn't meet their expectations, it's a complete write-off and must be publicly lynched and shamed forever. The advent of social media perhaps plays a role in this, where any uneducated hick now has a platform to promote their views. Back in the day, it was only certified writers who had the privilege of wider media influence. How times have changed.
And how is this sustainable? Hollywood could definitely stand to improve its output a great deal, but once I get around to seeing these newer films, they're not necessarily great, most are mediocre, but definitely not as stinking awful as the fanatics claim.
Maybe mediocrity makes them angry? I'd love to see what a really bad movie does to them...

What looks dreadful about it?
I'm glad no one wants to see it because I hate crowded theaters.

Looks fun! Maybe the movie could use a little more color, but other than that, I'm very optimistic about Solo.
Glover's Lando is awesome!

Also poster. JW gets billed first for "Han Solo Theme and Original Star Wars Music", then Powell for "Score Composed and Adapted"

Wow.
Well, the music was terrible, utterly terrible.
But the actual film looks fun! I am digging the visual style they got going here, looks much better than Rogue One and TFA.
Seems appropriate to be the first Disney Summer Star Wars film instead of Winter

I'll amend and re-upload with the prequel ones.
Jedi with less colour saturation and the prequels.

The Illustrious Jerry reacted to Josh500 in Jurassic Park and The Lost World Complete Release coming from LaLa-Land Records on 29th of November
In Japan, in the big record stores in Tokyo, you can just buy these Specialty Label soundtrack albums off the shelves.... They always have 3 or 4 copies in stock.
How amazing is that?

More than fine. A career highlight.
Luke’s story is great stuff, from a dramatic standpoint.
