  1. There's one piece of temp score from the workprints I'm still trying to identify! Does anyone recognize this one? Some say it sounds like Herrmann or Delerue. It's in both versions of the workprint and this sequence became the "Ends of the Earth" score when Jafar becomes sultan (just after Prince Ali Reprise) Aladdin - Unknown Temp Score.mp3
  2. Is anyone able to identify this piece? It was used as temp score in the workprints for Disney's Aladdin (1992). Possibly Bernard Herrmann? I know that his scores were used as temp music for other sequences in the workprints. Thanks! Aladdin - Unknown Temp Score.mp3
  3. On that note, I'm curious if anyone has suggestions for AI software which can restore/enhance older recordings (from the 1930's and 1940's)?
  4. I wonder if we'll ever see another Disney release... Tangled from OMNI was fantastic (and I bought it instantly!), but I would love to see something from the golden era of animation, or the renaissance.
  5. Nice choice! This was inspired by Edvard Grieg's "Wedding day at Troldhaugen". You can really hear the influence when you listen to the Jig piano score demo tape from the Legacy Collection soundtrack for TLM!
  6. I got the same error message over and over again. Then I found out that it only allows you to make an account if you're on a US based IP address so I tried with a VPN and I was able to make an account and then purchase. But even still, my order got cancelled immediately after processing because billing and shipping address have to match (as far as I know), even if you're using PayPal. Tried everything! Let me know if you find a workaround
  7. Woo!! We have a track listing (Jay you beat me to it :P) I’m so glad to see they really put an emphasis on the score rather than overkill on demos and work tapes. Some of that is readily available in other releases. Can't wait to hear it!
  8. I think it's a play on Winnie's line in the original movie "Another glorious morning...... makes me sick!" I'm glad this movie is happening and I'm so excited to hear John Debney's score for it. He posted this on Instagram a little while ago, it's the sketches of Main Titles from the original! https://www.instagram.com/p/CeWxn4cvd28/
  9. Legacy Collection releases for Cinderella and The Aristocats were initially D23 Expo exclusives as well, it was a 'get it here first' thing
  10. This is fantastic news! The animated score for Aladdin is one of Menken's best, and there is so much unreleased underscore to be heard Can't wait...
  11. Both are fantastic Marc! Beautiful work
  12. Fantastic, Marc! Your covers are always so well done and very accurate. This is a really spectacular choice from Menken's repertoire
  13. I'll have to give his Lincoln score a listen! It's one that goes under the radar compared to his other works. If anyone is looking for a deep dive analysis into Menken's score for The Little Mermaid, I highly recommend this podcast episode from Art of the Score. They do a fantastic job of playing out examples of the various themes and motifs of the score, and shed light on the musical influences and styles involved: http://www.artofthescore.com.au/podcast/2019/12/24/episode-30-the-little-mermaid
  14. To my knowledge, the various workprints are all based on the same source VHS and they're just different file types with varying amounts of blank space after. No differences to report as far as I know. I'd be really curious to see a full length workprint of The Little Mermaid and find out which temp tracks inspired its score as well!
  15. Thanks for this comprehensive list, Groovygoth666! I really enjoyed watching the workprint as well and figuring out what all the temp tracks were. Here are a few that I caught to help fill in your list Intro Aladdin (before One Jump Ahead): William Tell Overture from Caveman by Lalo Schifrin Abu and the Needy Children: David Newman – Larry Looks For Ellen (from Mr. Destiny) Jasmine in the Menagerie: Sad Goodbyes from Cocoon (James Horner) Jafar Hypnotizes the Sultan: T'pring by Gerald Fried Jasmine in the Menagerie: Farenheit 451 – Finale Marketplace: Bagdad from The Seventh Voyage of Sinbad by Bernard Hermann Jasmine Gets in Trouble in the Market: Scherhezade Suite: The Kalendar Prince (Rimsky-Korsakov) Jasmine’s Sorrow: First Tears from Cocoon (James Horner) Aladdin Imprisoned: The Miracle of the Ark by John Williams (Indiana Jones ROLK) Aladdin Meets a Fellow Prisoner: Finale and End Credits from Indiana Jones LC by John Williams Jafar in Disguise in the Prison: Mysterious Island – Prelude by Bernard Hermann Aladdin Enters the Cave: Night Magic by Bernard Hermann Cave of Wonders (Discovering the Lamp): Mountain Top from Journey to the Centre of the Earth by Bernard Hermann Aladdin Apprehended by Jafar's Guards: Atlantis the Lost Continent (Overture) by Russell Garcia Princess Jasmine In Love: T'pring by Gerald Fried Genie's New Master / Jafar Takes Over: Larry Meets Jerry by David Newman (from Mr. Destiny) Aladdin and Abu: Canyon of Mazes by James Horner (from Willow) Jasmine Tricks Jafar: Transformation by Bernard Hermann (Seventh Voyage of Sinbad) The Battle: Futile Escape by James Horner (Aliens) Victory: Theme Medley from Memoirs of an Invisible Man by Shirley Walker Aladdin Frees the Genie: Cocoon (The Ascension) by James Horner
  16. Omg this is amazing! Thank you so much SyncMan for reporting on this John Debney's score for Hocus Pocus is fantastic and I am so glad he was scoring the upcoming sequel as well. If anyone needs a refresher on this iconic score, the Main Titles will jog your memory immediately of the shadow of a witch flying over a 17th century Salem village. Also the witches flight scene and the climax scene in the graveyard are fantastic as well.
  17. Aladdin (1992), score by Alan Menken, is also having its 30th anniversary this year! I know there's a bunch of us who are hoping this gets inaugurated in the Legacy Collection line Here's one of the best cues of the score, Cave of Wonders with french horn and trumpet by Marc Papeghin. I remember reading Menken's notes about writing this cue and he described is like trying to score a roller coaster ride. You'll definitely see what he meant by that as the cave starts collapsing. Disney Music Emporium does have a feedback link available if anyone feels inclined to voice their request https://www.disneymusicemporium.com/page/feedback
  18. Agreed! Beautiful job on this one Marc I also really loved your transcriptions of The Lion King. Would you consider The Battle sequence from Aladdin? It's a gorgeous one as well.
  19. Agreed! Even if the releases aren't "perfect" I still really hope they continue with The Legacy Collection. I think Aladdin is one of everyones top requests!
  20. Really glad you brought up this topic! I know it's easy to jump to criticism with this set but there's so much to appreciate it. I'm glad the Legacy Collection line did not go extinct! I resonate with your appreciation for (finally available!) score cues that we've never properly heard before. The ones you mentioned are fantastic. "Morning in the Bell Tower" has that tender quality that I connect with cues from Beauty and the Beast (Beast Lets Belle Go) and Aladdin (The Kiss). It's quite simple but I love the oboe solo! "Find the Girl" is also fantastic and includes a major section of score that wasn't covered in the "Paris Burning" track on the OST
  21. According to the disneymusicemporium instagram account, the Hunchback Legacy Collection arrives tomorrow?! Perhaps on streaming platforms (and shipping is as-of Sept 22??) Either way ... This kind of makes sense because Release Radar on Spotify updates every Friday which is sort of the unofficial weekday for album releases now
  22. David Kirschner (executive producer) just did an interview for the Big Seance podcast in which he mentions that John Debney will be scoring Hocus Pocus 2!! https://bigseance.com/2021/09/01/195-hocus-pocus-and-the-sequel-with-creator-writer-and-executive-producer-david-kirschner-big-seance/ Listen around the 45:12 mark
  23. Could this post be considered as a hint? D23 Presents: Five Facts about The Hunchback of Notre Damehttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7VxCnBjOxHw It was uploaded within the past 24h
  24. Wow that’s really cool! I had never even heard of Neumation Music until you pointed this out. Great to see that there’s now a few publishers for full scores
