    Hi all.
Presenting the complete score cue list breakdown of Disney's Beauty and the Beast.
Again, done from my usual research on various sources.
Using accurate durations, the excluded tracks with custom titles, etc.

Presenting the best possible breakdown of the complete cue list of the soundtrack from Disney Pictures' Pocahontas (another favourite of mine).
This was done from my own research; using the actual score cue titles (courtesy of SACM), accurate durations, and relabelling of tracks that were presumed mislabeled on the OST album.
    Corrections always welcome.

It is kind of mind blowing how well this technology works.  Having spent over half my lifetime ripping unreleased music from movies and dealing with whatever dialogue and sound effects came with it, its amazing how well you can remove at least the dialogue now

I know some people here have dabbled with this, and I was wondering if we could get some info shared about the best programs to use and any setting recommendations, etc etc.

I just started dabbling in this today and am blown away by the results

This is the one I happened to find and use:

Here's an example of a before and after

    before.mp3
    after.mp3
Since the free version only outputs as MP3, I'm contemplating paying for a subscription to get high res audio and whatever else you get with paying.  But I figured I'd ask here first if there are any alternate vocal removal websites, or apps, or whatever, that people think are better or just different.

Usually the rear channels have the cleanest music, but they don't necessarily have all the music when it's mixed across all channels. There are many free online "AI"-based sites that can remove dialogue ("vocals") or even sound effects ("percussion"), though one shouldn't expect instant magic perfection yet. My go-to one is https://x-minus.pro/ai.

I wonder if we'll ever see another Disney release... Tangled from OMNI was fantastic (and I bought it instantly!), but I would love to see something from the golden era of animation, or the renaissance.

I think you will (and that's not a hint).  The Rocketeer is Disney...but I know that's not quite what you meant.

I really want to (because they're exciting), but I don't want to draw attention away from The Rocketeer (and Braveheart, which yes, is next).  Although it gets people excited for what's coming in the future, it also becomes frustrating that it's not here "now"!  It's a tough one with pros and cons.

I can say though, that there will be two from composers who haven't had a full score release before, and two who have...!

It's quite possible that I'll slip in another digital release or two (a la Testament) as well.  Smaller titles that aren't necessarily viable for a full print run (too short, or too small of a market) but are worthy of finding an alternative solution.

Dear Film Music Fans,   Chris Siddall Music Publishing is proud to announce that the Rocketeer study score is ready for pre-ordering.  Reuniting with director Joe Johnston, following 1989’s Honey, I Shrunk the Kids, James Horner finally achieves his goal of scoring a motion picture about flying. Until 1991’s The Rocketeer, Horner had always managed to “miss out” on projects relating to his passion for flight. The Rocketeer presented the perfect vehicle for him, and the resulting score is one of the finest he ever wrote. Bristling with energy and exuberance, the score is almost Wagnerian in its use of motifs.
As well as the orchestral score featuring exquisite orchestrations by John Neufeld, Elliot Kaplan and Conrad Pope, this edition also includes the unique opportunity to study five jazz standards which were specially arranged and orchestrated for The Rocketeer by the legendary Billy May.
Please visit ChrisSiddallMusic.com and be the first to own this classic masterpiece today.   390 pages, 9x12 inches. Paperbound, printed in the U.K.   $85.00   Available Worldwide   Note: Shipped from the UK. Please check with your country for import tax before ordering. This charge will be in addition to the item cost and shipping cost and varies by country.   THE ROCKETEER in Full Score (chrissiddallmusic.com)   Orders including The Rocketeer are expected to ship week commencing 2nd October 2023.

UPDATE: We now have a Discord server: https://discord.gg/jANPycCmVd

I'm excited to announce that I have recently become the admin/bureaucrat of the previously abandoned Film Music Wiki over on fandom.com.

There is a lot of work that needs to be done to bring the site up to an acceptable standard, but I hope to eventually make it the de facto source of information regarding film scores. There are other sites with info of this nature on the internet but all of them are incomplete and you'd need to cross check several sources to get all the info you want.

For example, if I were trying to research the first Harry Potter score, I could find the existence of and a little bit of info on the OST and the La-La Land set on Discogs, but no mention of the sessions leak. Discogs also doesn't present any sort of comparison between what material is on the OST and what material is on the La-La Land and how they overlap and how they don't. Discogs also wastes a lot of space covering reissues of OSTs, which while possibly interesting from a collector's perspective they don't really matter from a musical perspective. If I instead check out the excellent Chronological Scores / Soundtracks blog, I would learn of the existence of the sessions leak, and sort of get an idea of how the music is used in the film, but I still wouldn't know the exact differences between the releases, or exactly what alterations are made to cues in the final film. The Chronological Scores blog is also designed to be more of an editing guide than an informative breakdown of a score, which means on its own the information isn't complete. If I dug a little bit deeper I might find Jay's fantastic spreadsheet breaking down the all the releases of the score in relation to the original sheet music. This would provide a proper comparison of the releases and give most of the information I would want, but it still doesn't cover how the music is edited for the final film. Also, none of these sources go into detail about how the score was written or how different themes are utilized or when or where it was recorded. There are of course other sources that would provide this information, but I think you get the point.

I want to provide one centralized source of information for film score fans to get an idea of what exists for any given score and presents most of the information they might want (cue lists, release breakdowns, behind-the-scenes info), while also linking back to all these other excellent sources. To me, it seems a wiki is the perfect way to accomplish that goal. Plus, with the high search rankings of Fandom sites, it has the added bonus of increasing exposure to and awareness of film music for the general public. Also, I should note that I plan on covering not just "film" scores but also television and videogame music as well.

Lastly, I want to provide a roadmap of some of what I have planned:

Obviously, I am only one person, and I will not be able to do all this on my own. If anyone here is interested in participating as an editor I'd love to have the help. Thanks!
