Now from my prior knowledge i thought JW orchestrated everything himself. But from those BBC clips on you tube it seems he had an orchestrator for ESB. Does anyone have any clue what other films JW didn't orchestrate himself.

So i've been studying JW's music and scores for a while now and i've been trying to figure out how the man composes. I've been analyzing how he develops his melodies and chord progression. Has anybody got further than me in figuring out how he makes his music so distinct and dramatic. I would like to hear what other people have come up with.

well i ordered The Cowboys Overture because its a great piece and because i have the full recording of it. i like to see how he orchestrates and creates his effects and i havn't found a recording that corresponds with the CE3K SE. But thank alot guys

Im about to purchase another SE and i dont no which one too get. Im lloking for one that shows JW's orchestration at his best or basically the best SE in your opinion and ill look into it. thanks guys

how does the 26 staff look, does it have barlines? Is that the best you've found because i think ima get it.

went to go see it last night, and yes IMHO...... I THOUGHT THE MOVIE WAS THE BEST MOVIE EVER PRODUCED. potc 1 was my alltime favorite and i never thought i find a movie that would surpass it, and what do you know. POTC 1 was great. POTC 2 sucked!!! and POTC 3 was the best out of all of theme. altho it did seem like there gonna make another one. hmmmmm

well if you thought potc 2 was bad than i can trust your opinion.

im pretty sure theres a bass clarinet there too. it doesn't have the total bassoon sound. sound a little more airy

The harp in Battle of the Heroes. That glissando is sooo freaking impressing. thats why i love that piece.

I agree. I third that... I perfer film score music over Classical music any day. I also hate when people refer Film Score music as Classical music... I always gotta remind people that they're completely different types of music... im with you on that but im saying classical music is overated, IS overated. it is the foundation of film scores.

Classical music is overrated. alot of my friends say that but i think diffrently. i listen to classical to get immersed in it. like, the is sooo much more to classical music than just notes. There was a reason the composer wrote it down and shared with the world. For example, me being a cello player my favorite cello concerto's are Dvorak and Saint-Saens. and both of them of an interesting story. Saint-Saens did't like the cello one bit because he thought it was too "restricting" compared to the violin and so he wrote just as an ehh piece, thinking that no one could play it well. but a cellist of the time thought otherwise and show saint-saens that it was playable and a great piece. So in reture saint-saen wrote his 2nd concerto, very much harder basically sayin F*** You lol. And the ending of the last movement of the Dvorak concerto was changed due to his sister-in-law passing away. she was a violist so he added a solo violin accompanying the cello. babble babble babble. But my favorite orchestal piece is Ma Vlast. we all know the story to that one, the music explains it all.
