GlastoEls got a reaction from BB-8 in Did you get the Dial of Destiny soundtrack on the CD format before it sold out?
Well that’s definitely the email address I had when I bought my copy, which was delivered safely several months back.

This was many Halloweens ago.
Here's my daughter and her friend.
And with apologies to @Mr. Hooper, here's me:
Hey I don't need this working class hero crap.
And Here's the family dog, with 3 barrels on 'em:
Quint gets revenge:
Aboard the Orca....
Thanks for indulging me!

Hey guys,
Been a while since I posted here, but I just thought I’d drop by to let you know of a soundtrack concert report site that I started recently. I’ve actually just posted my report of John Williams in Milan! Here’s the link:

Happy Birthday JWFAN!
I too finally joined in anticipation of Vienna (that's what we thought) back in 2018, similar to @BB-8 with The Force Awakens. I thought I submitted my concert report from London 1996 to this site, maybe some day I'll find out which one of the ones mentioned above it really was.
And like @Thor my own site is apparently the same age, amazing. :-D
Finally I concur with @GlastoEls about finding and meeting friends during these amazing recent years...
Cheers all around!
/me raises glass of red wine.

Massive congrats on what is genuinely a fabulous resource and such a well natured place.
I myself have made real life friends from the site and met up with Williams nerds in Milan, Vienna, Berlin, and closer to home in London.
Here’s to the next 25!

GlastoEls reacted to Tom Guernsey in Anne-Sophie Mutter plays John Williams
Most enjoyable if slightly curious programming choices (more below!). Playing by the orchestra and ASM were excellent and quite a few additional pieces from ASM, notably Across the Stars, The Long Goodbye, Helena’s Theme and Schindler’s List. ASM made a few remarks around the encores (one after the first half and the other three after the programmed pieces in the second) notably that she felt JW’s 2nd Violin Concerto was the most important of the last 100 years. Quite a claim! I must admit that I still find it hard going and I can’t imagine the average JW fan would be that interested if it were written by someone else. Still she’s clearly a passionate advocate of the work and seems to relish playing it as well as the score excerpt arrangements. She teased the arrangement of Scherzo for Motorcycle and Orchestra but didn’t play it alas!
Curiously, ASM played the three programmed items then three encores at the start of the second half and then the orchestra played the suite from (L) Bernstein’s On the Waterfront which felt like an odd appendage to the rest of the programme. Quite a few people left before it and many left during the final applause which I doubt would have been the case had ASM played at the end of the second half. Otherwise a fine and well attended concert. Sadly any hopes that JW would put in a surprise appearance did not materialise!

GlastoEls got a reaction from Sylvan in John Williams' Piano Concerto for Emmanuel Ax - Premieres Saturday, July 26, 2025
Brief update in The Times interview today when they asked him what’s next: https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/john-williams-maestro-of-the-melodic-spark-0w6mbp5fm
“Most imminently there's a piano concerto to be written for Emanuel Ax ("I finished the first movement yesterday")”
