Hello Guys !! i'm martyprod, the one who posted this video on youtube ! Hello Miguel (hey was up ? long time i have no more news from you !). first i want to thank Miguel to have allowed me to put on youtube a part of his collection. other part come from me and has been recorded on a german channel called Onyx in the 90's/2000's year and rom other source but lot of them come from miguel, so guys, you can thank him a lot ! i just put the videos on youtube for maybe 60, 70% of them. some informations about the unfinished journey color and quality issue : 1) i don't remember which is the source of this video. if it's from Miguel or mine. 2) the low picture quality is due to two issue added together: VHS transfer + lost of the color information due to a NTSC source converted in digital without a NTSC / PAL transcoder. it can be the source who was like that, i really don't remember this. why a source lost his color ? because of lack of proper NTSC / Pal converter, or recorded in SECAM from a PAL source with no information. some of my videos are in black and white because i only got a PAL VCR around 1997, so everything i recorded on German satellite dishes until i got this PAL VCR is in black and white because we lost the color information when we record a PAL Signal with a SECAM VCR. 3) i have unfortunatly a few sources like this, like the last video i uploaded featuring Harry Connick Jr. i was asking myself: best is to post nothing or to post this videos, but in this quality ? i took the second solution. best is this than nothing. i'm pretty sure that the source is the same (so miguel if you check your video, there is a possibility that you have it in black and white too), because a digital transfer of a NTSC VHS source in digital without a NTSC VHS VCR, f**k the color signal and give something hybrid, with some weird color. you all can see this on the video i uploaded of chick corea playing his COREA concerto at the boston pops below. fortunatly, it's a very few amount of videos.

hi, depending on which country you live, maybe the site is in fact blocked.? i can't be of any help on this matter. for stocking my sheets and sharing them, i use several ways. my own server (my website), there is Skydrive as well, google Drive, Amazon Drive, good to (but can go offline anytime, they have some trouble with america justice like everybody else), there is Mediafire.

Welcome Back !!!! You come back and i leave for a while : (well, i'll be still around but no music or very few). Big right hand and left Arm issue with a big % that i must go in chirurgy. so i delayed the release of my piano improvisation transcriptiob of Out Of Africa - i had a farm in africa, and my tribute to christopher reeve (can you read my mind + somewhere in time). the sheet are already done, but. i'll release them later. i'm forced to use most of the time now a vocal recognization software to write instead of me (lol... i didn't tried it yet with sibelius, but i'm sure it will be a nightmare (i use Dragon premium 12.5). ... so i lowered by 99% the time allowed to sibelius, and music and videos. so great that you're back ! plenty of tune to analyse when i'll come back too . i was working on the finale - end credits of last crusade. i just finished my arrangement on What Dreams May came. Twin Peaks is ready to be recorded since a long time ... but ... i asked to many people to transcribe Vader's Death, but still waiting. i don't desesperate .

i'm still here. i finished my piano transcription of my recording of my tribute to christopher reeve where i play somewhere in time and can you read my mind, same for my tribute to john barry on out of africa. some stuff to check, and i'll post them in some week.

It's my favorite instrument^^ Looking forward to your recording once you get settled in your new place. And if you have a transcription of it to share, I would be eternally grateful! lol it's a transcription, yes, but done for me (not sure if the guy who did it want me to share it as it is, as it's has been custom made (it's not readable like it is, it's like if all the informations of the orchestra has been put on one piano staff). from it, i did my own lead sheet arrangement to improvise on it, like on a real book (if you know what it is). i can share it, but if you're not able to read the lead sheet, it will no use for you, and i didn't finished it, i'll do it once i moved. but when i'll record the video, for sure, i'll do a piano transcription of my recording, and with as well the melody line and chords, so if you can wait a bit, you'll get what dreams ...as soon as i can (best is to subscribe to my newsletter or the rss feed to know when).

I did other projects doing the same thing , with Forrest Gump, Return of the Jedi, Superman and Somewhere in time but on piano solo, new ones with film/dialogue will be What Dreams May Come, and again return of the jedi with tunes that nobody never covered (approaching the death star, vader's death, etc ...).

Thanks, i think the movie was ok, it would have just need to remove "some childish stuff" to make it "ok". a psychopat captain nemo and the pyshcologic and other stuff put in the movie are pretty amazing. after life, psychologic releationship between the "master" and the machine who is just a represention of his unconcious and bad part of him, and who is in fact the same person, the NDE/After life experience at the end of the movie in the "tunnel", etc ... very few people understand and see that by watching the movie. etc ... it's a good surprise for me to see it now as an adult with the knowledge to understand all this. this movie was by far, not suited for childrens. (it's the first memory i remember, i saw it in theater i was 5 years old).. but the music does 80% of the job, for sure . thanks for your encouragement, Marc Papaeghin is a well known guy here who did some amazing tributes to john williams, check him at www.marcpapeghin.com and on youtube !

Thank you! I was just listening to that first track this morning. I split the MP3 so I could have the first couple of minutes of the Beside You theme with the solo oboe as its own track. It was actually something I was considering asking for a transcription. I met a nice pretty female oboist recently and would love the chance to play some film music with her^^ hey , just to tell that my arrangement for what dreams may come is ready to be recorded (and improvised), and will include the oboe theme, and an another tune from the soundtrack but i'm moving actually to a new flat so all my recordings will be done after i move (it can take some times). so everything i planed to record is "freezed" until i moved. Hello There, for the ones who saw my tribute to Yoda and E.T, i did this time a tribute to Alan silvestri and on the movie Forrest Gump. there are a lot of dialogues, but as the main purpose of the video is the music, the voices are not put "in front". so i created english and french subtitles so everybody can enjoy it without any difficulties, to be disturbed by the music and not hearing the dialogue or trying to hear them and not enjoying the video. Hello Thor, thanks for your reply ! as well, i don't play the tune as it is written, never , rule number one of my recording : one take + improvisation + almost not or no editing. it has nothing to do with my situation. i improvise the whole thing based on the melody and the harmonies. what's why it's sounding different, or there are stuff who are not in the tunes or the sheets. it come from my past as a gigs jazz pianist. i hate piano transcription made by others or songbook, so i always do my own thing and never play the piano part exept if it's written by the composer himself. speaking about going out, i didn't went out of my flat since april 2010. for Twin peaks, of course this is in my list of "to do" but doing this take unfortunatly a lot of energy, and i'm too frustrated by doing recording without hearing anything, so now i record my tunes with my ears since june, but i need several days to recover after doing it each time so that's why i don't do them as often i would like, if not i'll do one everyday . the next ones will be What dreams may come from kamen, 2 new star wars, one about the vader / luke / emperor relationship (with approaching the death star, etc ..) and one about luke / leia / solo (with brother and sister etc ..). soon to be released in few days / weeks : The Black hole from John barry featuring again Marc Papeghin on French Horns. and Forrest gump from silvestri. i'm sorry to read that you have as well some of my symtoms. i know how hard it is this has nothing to do with the level of the illness. it's as hard to live when your life is "off" than with low leve symptoms. i hope you can live normally even with them. i can't use earplugs at all, because when you're reaching the highest level of the tinnitus / hyperacusis disorder, the silence become as painful as sounds. so we must use them only if there is an "emergency". i didn't used them since maybe 10 years. thank you for your kindness and your interest and comments, i will think about the twin peaks one maybe more earlier than i tought !

thank you very much ! (i love the Twin Peaks soundtrack ! ) the only thing that i can tell who can explain the fact that it's not as perfect as it must be or that i would be (i play this much much much better normally if i can use my ears. for example, i play usually over the moon like on the record) is that i'm an hearing trauma guy (i had an hearing accident during a jam session 18 years ago and can't listen to any sound anymore. the complete reverse of being deaf. sound become painful.) and that i record all my videos in one take without almost hearing what i played, and never listen again what i recorded because sound make pains to me. i did the video/audio editing etc by watching my hands on the video to know what i was playing and when, not by listening the recording. usually i never edit the piano recording track but E.T has been a nightmare to do, and i had to do it (that's why so some fade by moment). same, if it's not good, i can't record it again, because i don't know if it's good or not (i ask to other people to tell me if it's "ok" to publish it or not" so it's never perfect, and usually, i suffered so much to record it, that i always try to never record it again and publish it "like it is" with his mistakes or issues. E.T has been a nightmare in every step to do, 2 months of work to make the video right. usually it take me 1 month per video to make the subtitles, make the video being ok, watching the midi editor to see if i didn't do any note mistakes during the recording, asking to a friend to listen to my recording and he tells me if i played bad one passage etc and try to fix it myself or he fix the issue himself etc ... i never listened what i recorded again (that's the same thing for my others videos), sometimes i'm forced to do it, and i listen one time only after recording it so i can hear if i did very "bad mistake" during the recording and take the decition to put the take in the trashcan or not, of if i can save it. so i have absolutly no idea if it's good or not. it's a friend of mine who mix the piano, so it's his piano taste in term of reverb . i have certainly other taste in term of piano sound, but i will (maybe) never know it . so i have absolutly no idea as well if there is too much reverb or not for my taste, i'll discover it one day if i have a new healing . it's completly improvised and as i can't play piano anymore or pratice it (i didn't do it since 18 years) i take the original sheets, make a basic arrangement with only the melody and notated chords and i improvise on it by filming myself. my speakers are in an another room to where i am when i record a tune, to lower as much as possible the sound of the piano so i don't hear 90 to 95% of the sound of it when i play it. (because each sound and notes make pure pains), i almost listen and hear nothing when i record the song, the biggest issue is the pedals. without hearing the decay of a note, i do usually a lot of mistake on it, and a friend of mine or the one who do the mix usually fix it for me. i put this "technic" to an upper lever as i recorded some videos with the amp completly turned off so without listen to what i was recording at all because i did them in a time where i couldn't listen to anything at all. it's still the same, but i recorded .E.T, Hook for example at a very very low volume, because, well, sometimes, it's so much frustration to not being able to listen to what you're playing that you accept to suffer to do it. here are some examples recorded without hearing what i played at all : i always put a warning message on the videos who have been recorded this way without hearing nothing at all : here is the only video where i played it by completly hearing and listening to what i was playing normally at full volume during an healing time in 2008.
