Hello, i'm posting this not in the youtube clips topic. here is the adress of my youtube channel. there , i posted and i'm still posting all the John williams videos i have and that i have collected since the 90's. i only have a "few" videos. all of these videos are coming from the tv recordings of the boston pops show aired on PBS, or on some other channels, like the old Onyx german TV. Hello there, me and Marc just finished our fourth collaboration about doing john williams Cover with me on Piano and Marc on French Horn. I'm Sure you know who Marc is. speaking about me, i'm a French Piano amateur player and visit this website sometimes (i'm a huge williams, Menken, and Silvestri Fan, see my selling cd list in the trading board here or my sheet score list in the trading list message board). we did this time, Luke and Leia from Starwars after doing the Princess Leia's Theme, Can you Read My Mind, and Marion's Theme. how we did these tracks ? well, i'm an amateur jazz player but i'm as well a HUGE John Williams and Soundtrack music fan and i'm praticing improvision since i'm 15. so to record these tracks, i'm reading a Lead Sheet of the tune i want to record, with only the melody line and Chords. and i'm improvising my Accompagnement Part for Marc.i only do one or two take only after praticing the tune a bit on my piano before. when it's done , i send the Track to Marc who will record it in Cubase. he send me back the track, and i finish the Mix in Cubase. voila. enjoy, and please, leave a comment if you like it (if you hate it, you can leave a comment as well ). find here as well, direct link to download the 3 others tune we did together in the past , and who have been done in the "twilight zone" of this message board. Thanks for that ! ( a little late sorry ) On another subject, I've been working these days to have the sheet music for my tributes published. To do so I need authorisation from none other than Warner, Universal and Sony..only to learn today by Universal that Mr Williams "does not approve outside arrangements for publication." Now I haven't sent them anything yet so I'm wondering..is there a way it could still be done ? I've worked a lot on this project and wouldn't want it to stop right now.. Anyway, any ideas are welcome ! hey marc .... it's weird, because if you take a look at a sheet music store , you will see that there are THOUSANDS of williams compositions, arranged by someone else, for concert band, full orchestra, etc ..... this reply from universal is weird !!
