Hello There,
some of you maybe know my youtube channel martyprod2 where i posted around 80 Tv pro video of john wlliams conducting all kind of stuff, including his own music (or not).
Some parts of my collections come from myself, and some from someone very nice from here..
I Just started to remaster each video one by one in Full HD, Widescreen, pictures improved upscaled and cleaned, colors eventually reworked and a bit of new color gradding, and sound normalized (my hearing illness actually forbidd me to do more than that for now). I take this opportunity to post the stuff that i have in my collection and didn't posted yet, like this one, and which is the first one to be remastered. For the videos already posted, for the ones with few comments, i'll erase them and they will be replaced by their remastered version, and for the ones who have lot of comments, i'll let them online and will post the remastered version next to it.
I'll post more soon, but it take a long time

Martyprod reacted to Miguel Andrade in John Williams and Sarah Willis's Horn Challenge
That was actually in the mid 90's and it was a rumor based, most likely, in the fact that he stepped down from the Boston Pops in 1993 and there was no film commitment in 1994.
I believe it will available through Amazon Prime too.

Martyprod reacted to Marian Schedenig in John Williams and Sarah Willis's Horn Challenge
Good of her to sterilise the mouth piece, even before COVID was a thing. Of course, what she should have done is stuff Williams with cookies until he agreed to write solo horn arrangements and a new concerto for her.

Martyprod got a reaction from Jurassic Shark in John Williams & the Vienna Philharmonic: January 18/19 2020
Anyway, giving the Max Steiner award to Hans zimmer one month before John williams will perform in the same city (it's not the same orchestra and not the same hall) is kind of.. insult ? Joke ?
i know that sandra tomek (producer of the vienna film festival) did this as a pure business move to have Zimmer in her pocket, to have more recording contract with remote control and for other reasons too as she's producing as well the european zimmer tour, but it's a kind of a shame. in my opinion...
the zimmer "party" will be broadasted on 35th Tv network, and what about ... Williams ?
and come on, Max Steiner award to...

Should I wait until the Blu-Ray and CD set becomes available to order on Amazon USA, or should I order it now via the official website?

People complaining over the BD disc release... because they don’t own a BD-player. Really? Jeez, the format’s only been out 15 years guys, no rush.
You complaining it’s in color too?

Martyprod reacted to Remco in John Williams & the Vienna Philharmonic: January 18/19 2020
Oh come on, I love Williams to death and I only want him to do well. The concerts were fantastic, yes. But I’m just being realistic, he’s just not as good as a conductor as he was before. It’s not strange that at 88 your body can’t quite communicate your inner feelings as well anymore.

Martyprod reacted to Remco in John Williams & the Vienna Philharmonic: January 18/19 2020
I can imagine why, but that doesn’t make him a technically perfect conductor.
-
Martyprod reacted to Remco in John Williams & the Vienna Philharmonic: January 18/19 2020
No, the orchestra plays exactly the tempo that Williams gives them in the opening bar yet he doesn’t keep up with his own tempo and then is late in giving his cue to the horns.
Regardless, it’s no secret that Williams tempo stability has become worse in recent years (when he’s not conducting to picture).

Martyprod reacted to Remco in John Williams & the Vienna Philharmonic: January 18/19 2020
While I loved the concert I attended I must admit it pains me a bit to see Williams – despite the tremendous energy for his age – conducting in the clip above. He already can’t keep his tempo at the opening bars of Hook and that’s why the horns are late. No wonder the concert master looked stressed like hell. I hope they can stitch together a polished product from the two concerts.

Martyprod reacted to Miguel Andrade in J. Williams concert of Herrmann and Mancini music PBS 2004
The concert was part of the Evening at Pops series (that was the final year of a 30-year-run), produced by WGBH Boston.
I think that PBS was only the broadcaster and distributer of the show. I would guess you would get a better shot at getting a copy from WGBH than PBS, but wouldn't hold my breath...
Anyway, I do have the show. PM me if you are interested in a cable recording of it.

He is Beatles, Queen, Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd of orchestral music. There is nobody else like him on this planet and the fact that he is performing in Europe is a historical moment. People are excited. A lot. 🙌🏻
