Brando reacted to BrotherSound in Using AI to manipulate film score audio (dialogue removal, instrument isolation, etc)
I’ve always wanted to hear ‘Setting the Trap’ from Home Alone without the synth drums:

I like it! Not saying it’s better, but very cool.

Brando reacted to Andy in So... how was your day?
Wow, Richard! I think we had the same goddam day. I was especially foul today. Just sour. @Nick1Ø66 your relativity and perception comments make perfect sense. Now someone needs to explain why, for a while, it feels so good and validating to cultivate the perfect shitty mood, because I made a masterpiece today.
I’m walking my 10 year old Yorkie first thing in the morning. Hoping I’ll just enjoy the quiet of late dreary autumn in my typical suburban neighborhood. Then out comes Parker the Terrible. Parker is some kind of golden spaniel mix who I’ve seen go after other dogs with a blood curdling battle cry I would not want to hear twice. I’ve also had to snatch up my dog in my arms from Parker, because the dog likes to get so worked up with blood rage that it breaks through its electric fence. Every time it sees me coming it looks like it’s ready to kill and last week when it made a movement towards me I yelled at it, promising the next time I’d yell louder so its owners hear me.
And that’s precisely what I did.
Parker charged the neutral zone with full shields up and photons and phasers locked. I uncorked, surely waking other neighbors. The owner came to the door and said something back to me, infuriating me more, and I brought out the old 30 year veteran teacher angry yell voice as I continued walking and berating him to keep his dog inside and that it’s not okay. I went full Dark Andy. Pure adrenaline.
This is the second dog in the neighborhood with whose owners I’ve had a similar clash. Animals are unpredictable. Electric fence just does not work. And as @Naïve Old Fartsays, people think the rules don’t apply to them and their dogs. I don’t hate the dog, I hate the dog owner. But seriously who the feck names their dog “Parker”? I can imagine their tasteful upscale decor and neutral wall colors.
Then I made my family breakfast and just sat down when Mom calls. Dad has been discharged from the nursing home for a week now. She helped him bathe today but he needed to take an emergency shit and she couldn’t get him off the throne. So I darted over to help with that and some other things.
My Dad is a very stubborn German son of a butcher. He’s not a good patient, understatement of the year. He’s been threatening to drive his car, which would result in his death and possibly someone else’s. The list of things still medically wrong with him would make this post run into the next page. My Mother doesn’t drive, so my Sister and I are providing… a lot. Which I’ve been working on internally to do so with grace and not resentment. Although my deadbeat Brother, who acts like the 75 minute drive from his house requires an FTL drive, has been challenging my resolve. He lurks here, but I’m not sure he has an account or can read this part of the forum. If he’s reading this, hi Joe, sorry you were too busy the past two weekends to lend a hand. And please respond to my text about you buying Dad’s car.
My seething mood got a nice poke from a minor disagreement with my wife in the afternoon, and that’s when I was content to sit and boil in my own foul stew.
It’s Sunday night and I didn’t sit down all weekend. There I go feeling sorry for myself. I’m so lucky to have both my parents, though they’re both ‘circling the drain’ as my Mom herself puts it. They’ve been married 62 years. Incredible. They gave me an amazing childhood, proof of their love for me. I got a second chance with my Dad, and I’m doing my best to treat him with grace and kindness. If anyone is still reading this far, I apologize for the long winded rant, and for only posting shit days when there are plenty of good ones in between. At the end of the day, I am really quite fortunate. I think the religious people call it blessed.

How was my day? 'How was my last four days?', more like.
On Thursday, my car failed its MOT and the garage is not sure if a replacement part for the bit that's broken can be secured.
This situation has informed my behaviour since. To cut one short, I've been in a foul mood for the past three days. Nothing can go right. To cap it all, on my way to my friends' house, this morning, I nearly got attacked by some small, yappy dog, whose owner didn't seem to give a tinker's cuss about. Why are these selfish, inconsiderate morons allowed to keep pets?
It's interesting how when something goes wrong, that thing can dominate one's entire being.
First world problems, of course, I know, and compared to what some JWfaners are going through ( @Andy, how's your dad? @filmmusic, have you been able to restore your contacts?), it's just a mere bagatelle, but it's still a worry.
If it comes to it, I'll have to scrap my car, and buy another. I don't want to, but I need a car for work; it's a contractual obligation.
Ah, well, rant over. Sorry for all that.
I just wanted to tell someone.
The good news is, that my eye has gotten better, and that I still enjoy sleeping naked (and all that goes with it ).

Fun fact, the version of 1M2 used in the film and albums is take 263 so this is a previously unheard take at the end here

Come to think of it, that applies to most of this forum.

Brando reacted to SyncMan in JURASSIC PARK - Live to Projection Concerts
You should be asking that question to the producers that created that concert.
Fun fact:
The LTP concert version of ROTLA doesn't have a live-choir, either. In this Facebook post from Citi Lights Concerts, who gave this concert a few times...
https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=3565913360096373
...they had this to say about the removal of the live-choir.
Based on that statement, I suspect that the producers of that concert, who are also the ones who produced this concert, had to eliminate the live-choir from the LTP concert versions, with JW's approval, so that their rentals can be attractive for orchestras to use, money-wise, as most of the orchestras in the world are non-for-profits.

Brando got a reaction from bruce marshall in What Is JW's Best End Credits Cue?
Of the multitude of edits Richard Donner had done to Superman's score, cutting in the Love Theme for the back half of the end credits was one of, if not the best decision he made. He could've had other cues cut in, he could've had March of the Villains play, but no, he chose JW's best love theme he ever wrote to finish out the movie. The triumphant ending is so heroic and after watching the movie makes me walk away with my soul full of joy.

Every thread on JWFan becomes a Star Wars thread. Except Star Wars threads that become something else.
I might argue contracting that by a few episodes but generally on the money.

I don't know how we got to a breakdown of highlight Bear McCreary BSG cues in a thread about an upcoming Star Wars movie, but it make me want to say this: JWFan is greater than everything!

Return of the Jedi has always been the cluster-flick of the Star Wars saga. I hate it. FAR worse than the Prequels, worse than Rise of Skywalker (which itself is better than Force Awakens). Come at me, I’m ready to die on this hill. 😅

I love Yub Nub. And the end credit of RotJ is just "Take concert arrangements and shuffle".
Honestly I have not liked the "Star Wars" portions of ANY of the post SW end credits. They are trimmed for redundancy and length from the original and they all feel like they have had the astonishing amounts of joy that the original had just sucked out of them. And the concert ending of the Throne Room section of the very end only works for me in Jedi. It makes me smile in Jedi. It annoys me in everything else. (Thank you, Rogue One!)
(Edited to add back in the words that should have been there.)
