Brando got a reaction from Andy in What's your favourite stretch of 5 consecutive tracks from any MM JW expansion?
And then subsequently most of it dropped except for the first 4ish seconds
Edit: I'll add this it makes sense that it was dropped because the music changes the entire tone. Having music makes it seem more terrifying and scary, while the lack of music creates a sense of tragedy, since Quint spent his post war life hunting sharks, only for him to Meet his End at the hands, or fins I should say, of a shark.

Brando reacted to Bellosh in What's your favourite stretch of 5 consecutive tracks from any MM JW expansion?
yeah totally fair.
also, why i included 'Blown to Bits'
i'm just always floored by the orca theme playing as Brody climbs the mast of the boat. I know it's not Brody's theme, but I love how it plays softly and heroically for him specifically, as he's the true protagonist.

Brando reacted to Jendo7 in STAR WARS Custom Covers thread
I've just made an account and have created some posters that are based on the Star Wars OST Target Exclusves. The size is 1000x1500 as I am using them as film and series posters. I've been a long time lurker and have been inspired by the work of heidl and Justanothercrow421.
The quality is not nearly as good as the soundtrack covers here as I am a bit of a novice...
... but If anyone thinks some are good enough to repurpose as soundtrack covers, please do.

Brando reacted to rough cut in SUPERMAN (1978) - Live-to-Projection Concert
Like all things, I think you have to see a movie through a lens of the time of when it was released.
If anyone went into Superman The Movie expecting to see Avengers Endgame, I can see that person getting disappointed. But - and I don’t mean this to be rude - that would be a naive opinion.
Superman is what it is - a big budget and serious attempt (in spite of Lex & Otis’ goofy relationship!) of a flying man in blue tights with a heart of gold and a kick ass score - and it carries the mark of its time with it.

Brando reacted to Andy in SUPERMAN (1978) - Live-to-Projection Concert
I can sort of understand how seeing the film for the first time in 2022 would leave this impression. I disagree with you completely, and I think you're overlooking the fantastic casting and performances getting hung up on a comedic villain. But we've had decades of cynicism and self-awareness polluting the cultural zeitgeist for entertainment in general since then, and so this must in that context come off as a bit slight and silly when compared to "serious" genre epics of today.
What you have to remember is the biggest superhero committed to live action prior to this was the 1966 Batman (which I also love), and the first line of this movie was "This is no Fantasy", a sort of meta reference to the "Verisimilitude" mantra emphasized by Richard Donner on the set.
You'll have to trust me that growing up with this was nothing short of magical. It was the 1978 version of Epic. (Production Designer) John Barry's crystalline designs advanced the entire feel of this event to something cosmic, classy.... expensive. The tagline "You'll Believe a Man Can Fly" was promising this was not George Reeves jumping off a mattress. The running time was even considered long by 70s standards, and the credits sequence we adore was enough to make the audience gasp and young hearts soar.
If you look into earlier drafts of the script, it was going to be even more cartoonish and silly. Donner and Tom Mankiewicz made sure to keep it humorous and appealing to contemporary audiences, without lowering it into camp territory.
I'm probably not telling you anything you haven't already heard, but I'll just say that growing up with this was absolutely magical, and I feel so lucky that I did. The sincerity and charm of this movie will never grow old fashioned. In fact, all in all, I'd say it's rather "Swell".
