Brando got a reaction from Holko in 7m3 Yoda Raises the Ship - synth section
When they release the complete scores in 50 years and we're trying to figure out where stuff is again because this time we legitimately forgot

Oh interesting. Honestly I completely forgot the 2018 remaster existed. That version sounds very similar to the film version of the scene though. Does the 2018 remaster use the Tomlinson mixes?
Oh cool thanks for the info! I haven't gotten there yet in my edit but when I do I'll be sure to keep that in mind.

Unrelated, but you do know where the film version of the End Credits is right? The Imperial March segment is different on all the albums except the anthology, I believe? Its located in the track 'Ewok Celebration (Film Version)/End Credits (Film Version)'. You'll just have to crossfade the opening of the End Credits from whichever album track of ESB's End Credits you use because of the choir from Ewok Celebration. I say this because it took a while for Manakin and I to figure out what they did for the film mix and where it was located.

Tbf I did know where it was, I had just forgotten after all these years.

Brando reacted to Jay in Hook - 30th Anniversary Double Vinyl from Mondo Records 2021
I'd probably buy it if you got a digital download of the remaster with purchase. But since you don't, and this will prpbsbly be what, $40 or something, and I don't play vinyl records, I don't think I will. Looking forward to seeing what the art is, though!

Brando reacted to crumbs in RESTORED ISOLATED SCORE: Star Wars Saga (Unused Music Restored To Picture)
Yep.
And the Knights were there too, at least in concept art:
Hux has a cool line in the visual dictionary: “He’s gone mad. Flames of the rebellion burn across the galaxy and Ren chases a ghost.”
Totally superfluous line, of course. We don't need to understand what our characters are doing, or why. Context is so overrated these days.

Gotta wait another 20 years for those two.

i used be a little bit more jaded to releases like that (no offense to Love, Actually)
but Jay said once here that every score released could be someone's favorite score. and any fans of film music, deserve their complete scores. it did change my perception a little bit when being disappointed with some of these releases.
but yeah, 4(?) more to go!

The Mandalorian, The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi are all great! Jedi Fallen Order is the best Star Wars game in an eternity (and they wrangled in EA's microtransactions), they hired John Powell to compose Solo (after hiring John Williams to write the theme), an expanded score for Solo less than 3 years after it was recorded, getting an Obi Wan series off the ground with Ewan McGregor, getting Williams to write a new concert suite for a Star Wars theme park (complete with the LSO performing it), Williams revisiting Han Solo and the Princess with a revised concert suite, getting Indiana Jones 5 into production with one of Hollywood's most acclaimed directors, convincing Williams to return to score Indy 5 without Spielberg directing...
That's plenty of great stuff in a pretty short tenure, not even factoring in the 10 hours of new music Williams recorded for the sequels, 6 hours of which is unreleased.
I'd also wager the likelihood of Star Wars and Indiana Jones expansions being rubber stamped is significantly higher with Kennedy in charge, having spent most of her career working with Spielberg and Williams (and is married to Frank Marshall, whom Mike deals with regularly on expansions).

Brando reacted to Jay in Home Alone - 25th Anniversary 2CD Edition by La-La Land Records (2015)
Yea Williams just overlapped all 3 cues with each other for the original OST album, while on the LLL Mike let each cue finish up before starting the next

Brando reacted to Bellosh in La-La Land Records' HOOK (2CD Expanded) Discussion thread
so i was listening to Hook (not a score i listen to often or know much of tbh), and the cue 'The Banquet' came on, and I was like holy smokes, that sounds familiar. Well it's quite obvious an episode of Young Indy was temp-tracked with The Banquet cue. Pretty cool in my book! Take from the best!

Brando reacted to crumbs in Home Alone - 25th Anniversary 2CD Edition by La-La Land Records (2015)
The first two cues which comprise this track are overlapped/microedited on the OST version.
The LLL presents clean endings for the first two cues before starting the next, hence the longer runtime.
Compare the sections around 1:10 and 2:35 in the OST version with the LLL.

My hopes for BF are HP4 and a Williams (Tibet or...no I won't hold my breath...Hook).
I also hope for The Patriot and Willow to happen soon (Disclaimer before I get banned by Jay: I am aware that these two could only be done by Intrada).

Brando reacted to BrotherSound in JWFan EXCLUSIVE: The Rise of Skywalker Partial Cue List Revealed
@Jay@crumbs@Falstaft@Ludwig@ragoz350
So, I think I may have figured out one oddity in the TROS cue list. I was having trouble imagining how the big ship would blow up in 8M7 Big Ship Blows Up, but then Finn and Jannah’s fate is seemingly left unresolved until several cues later in 8M10 Success and Sliding.
8M1 Approaching the Emperor #2
8M4 Psalm of the Sith
8M5 Jumping The Chain
8M7 Big Ship Blows Up
8M8 On Their Knees
8M10 Success and Sliding
I think 8M7 may instead actually be an early version of 7M36 Dunkirk, for the scene where Lando and the giant fleet show up. (It’s listed as ‘The Dunkirk Shot’ in the databases. Same thing, or was it revised again?) The scene does in fact also feature a big ship blowing up:
8M9 would theoretically be an early version of 7M38 I Am All The Sith. And then one can discern the same basic flow of events as the final cut in the list of cues above. The missing 8M2 and/or 8M3 would be an early version of 7M30 More Action.
The thing that was tripping me up is that 8M7 (or part of it, more likely) is used later on in the November 11th cut, but there’s such an enormous amount of tracking it wouldn’t surprise me to learn this wasn’t the place it was intended for.

Brando reacted to BrotherSound in RESTORED ISOLATED SCORE: Star Wars Saga (Unused Music Restored To Picture)
I’ve got a couple brief restored score videos for fragments of The Rise of Skywalker cues that got tracked into different scenes.
First up is ‘Filial Fencing’ (1M2?). The Luke and Leia duel flashback was apparently the original opening of the film and lasted considerably longer; the documentary shows several shots for this sequence that didn’t make the final cut being filmed.
’Filial Fencing’ is tracked into the scene where dark Rey appears, but I believe it was intended for this original opening, and the more threatening tone makes sense given that we wouldn’t initially know this was Luke and Leia.

A cue titled ‘The Feeling’ is tracked where Rey realizes Chewbacca is still alive. It seems most likely intended for this scene of Finn and Jannah which prominently features the phrase “a feeling” in the dialogue (ultimately tracked with music from The Force Awakens):

Brando reacted to Edmilson in The "Here They Come" Appreciation Thread
Of all the action music Williams wrote for Star Wars, one of my very favorite cues is Here They Come from A New Hope:
It's a fast paced, energetic cue brilliantly performed by the LSO and it fits the movie very well.
Also, I think this cue encapsulates the very spirit of Star Wars: the Rebels' daring escapades from the Empire, the sense of adventure and fun, the sheer spectacle of it... It's Star Wars at its best.
I also really like the Here They Come version from The Last Jedi:
What about you? Post your favorite performances of Here They Come!

UPDATE from MV on Black Friday Releases!!!
https://www.filmscoremonthly.com/board/posts.cfm?threadID=118900&forumID=1&archive=0&pageID=23&r=166#bottom
Definitely 5 titles...possibly 6. The 6th title all depends on the manufacturer being done in time.
We did have another awesome title ready to go but got hit with some additional approvals needed last second, so we had a January release slide in and take its place. As to when this title will be approved only George Burns knows

Brando reacted to Jurassic Shark in Chris Columbus would love to make HP & The Cursed Child: would he ask John Williams?
Bring Peter Jackson onboard and he'll make a trilogy out of each film.
He'll adapt his score for Stepmom.
They should have filmed in a higher resolution.
