LSH reacted to John F in Michael Giacchino's JURASSIC WORLD: DOMINION (2022)
Looking forward to this score but those stupid pun track titles are worse then usual.

Best thing he's done, IMO.
"Stick to what you're good at" springs to mind.
Not as creatively expansive as the sequels, or Powell's concurrent animation efforts, proved to be but I always find myself coming back to this for its smaller scale charm.
The almost 7-minute finale of The Water Recedes / Mammoths / With The Herd / Into The Sunset is what I mostly return to. Always coaxes a smile... and very often a tear.
This is also the first film that I took my little sister to see at the cinema so the music holds a very special place for both of us. She is not a film score maniac like me but she still cries when she hears it.

White Lines by Tom Holkenborg
Really nice electronic score, I love the track Infinite

Ugh, some of these cue names are so cringeworthy.

And with the fartiest horn farts that a Zimling ever farted

LSH got a reaction from Edmilson in John Powell - THE BOURNE IDENTITY (2002) - NEW! 2022 Varese Sarabande expanded edition
I'm not quite as enthusiastic about this score as some of you (I much prefer the sequels, particularly #2) but I'll certainly give it a listen to hear what's new.

It has taken some time to appreciate but I'm there.
This is truly gorgeous - and the Thomas Newman I want to hear more of in the future.
Somehow I didn't notice it first time but this score has a lot of the Newman trademarks that we all love. The deep yet subtle expertly layered strings, the haunting piano drops, the plucky adjuncts, the atmosphere.... and choir to boot! And while you might not call them 'themes', the many motifs in this work prove that Newman is still capable of smart leitmotif writing... even if the majority of his output is still comfortably in short-form, as he likes it. There are nine cues here that breach the two-minute mark!
I LOVE THIS.

I have seen the film but this is my first listen of the score. One of those that slipped past me despite it being an Oscar winner.
Loyalty to Ang Lee aside, Danna's penchant for South Asian stylings made him a perfect candidate for this - I've always enjoyed his injection of that region in his music. Anyway, I love this; even at its most energetic it is full of whimsy and joy. But when it goes into that exotically soothing mode... with those haunting Indian woodwinds... it is heavenly. Crikey.
Colour me a fan.

No, it's not his best, but I can see this hitting a very particular spot when I'm in the mood.
Oo-er missus.

LSH reacted to Damien F in BETTER CALL SAUL - spoilers allowed for all aired episodes
One of the biggest questions about BCS is whether Kim will be killed. At this point, I don't think so. She would only be killed by the cartel and it doesn't seem likely that her story and Lalo will overlap anymore. I also can't see Jimmy continuing to work with that drug world if it caused Kim to be killed.
More likely is that she will be disbarred and possibly some prison time as a fallout of whatever she is planning to do to Howard. If that happens, it would mean she would have to take full responsibility for it to leave Jimmy protected to continue practicing as Saul. Or maybe she gets disappeared by the vacuum guy to avoid prison and she remains a fugitive. I know the actor who played the vacuum guy has passed but the vet could be used as an intermediary so we don't actually have to see the vacuum guy.
I think it is inevitable that something will go horribly wrong on D-Day. My guess is that Howard will have a severe medical reaction to the vet's drug. The vet said that the drug depends on the person's tolerance to caffeine. Perhaps Howard has a very low tolerance and it triggers a heart attack, perhaps even a fatal one. Just a theory though, but he did make coffee only for his wife and not himself so maybe there is something to it. He might be under doctor's orders to avoid caffeine.

LSH reacted to Edmilson in Attack of the Clones was released 20 years ago today
Today marks the 20th anniversary of the release of Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones in American theaters.
The movie is not good, it has some atrocious CGI and laughable moments, but at the very least John Williams' score is amazing.

LSH got a reaction from publicist in What Is The Last Film You Watched? (Older Films)
I believe one of the reasons why The Thick Of It did not continue past its fourth series (2012) is because of how the state of British politics began to play out there forth. The show began as a parody and ended up realising that it couldn't parody anymore. If anything, the show became prophetic. Things in the show actually ended up happening in real life. The election campaign of 2010 was like 24/7 The Thick Of It.
Now that the disaster of Brexit and the UK government's handling of Covid - and countless other crises - have occurred and continue to occur, a comedy show like The Thick Of It would find itself in competition with reality!

LSH reacted to Not Mr. Big in New Spielberg movie: The Fabelmans (2022)
And will it have original Williams music? As far as I know, there are no pre-existing Fabelmans themes for trailer houses to exploit for nostalgia

LSH reacted to Anthony in The Thomas Newman Thread
It's a little schizofrenic (most Newman albums are), but I've always found Lemony Snicket to be one of his absolute best.

Medal of Honor: Airborne / Frontline / Allied Assault / Vanguard / Underground by Michael Giacchino
I've recently come up with Medal of Honor: Above and Beyond which was really great and decided to give a run to all the previous one now they're all on youtube. Well it's all very good, Giacchino built uo a nice collection of themes with some very efficient action writings.
Intersection by James Newton Howard
Never heard of this score nor movie before Thor's post. It's certainly a really good score that I definitly to listen more
