  1. McCreary wrote/used the following themes: Godzilla's Theme (Ifukube) Mothra's Song (Ifukube) Rodan Ghidora Monarch Serizawa's goodbye King Of The The Monsters (Overall Monster theme) That's 7 different themes Holkenborg wrote the following: Godzilla (uge brass statements) Kong And an electronic motif for Mega Godzilla. And as someone who likes GvK's score I am wondering why Holkenborg keeps saying that it was sooo hard to use the pre-existing themes. McCreary did it and I didn't hear him complain about it.
  2. Episode 9 Great finale. And this is without a doubt my favorite series of the year so far. I'm not really sure what else to say about it. I thought the prison camp attack was great, especially because it was so chaotic. Then to see Buck in the cockpit again next to Rosie was fantastic. And to have Kenny on board for the run to drop the food was just so heartwarming. The end with the planes taking off to go back to America was just as great. Amd I thought the shot of the cows in the field with a crashed plane beside was incredible! What a series!!!
  3. Yeah, especially because of the reaction afterwards. I remember when I saw it in the cinema and how people reacted to it. And I just like the way the film also kimda talks about how people are with phones and followers etc. It's just really funny
  4. Well, episode 9 is 77 minutes, the longest one I think. So that could be the one they put together. Up to this point I never felt like it were 2 episodes cut together so if that is the case, they did it very well
  5. Episodes 7 & 8 Two very strong episodes and I can't wait to watch the finale. Love how these 2 episodes gave an even more intimate and closer look at the characters and the worlds they (need to) inhabit. I loved the inclusion of the fighter pilots, though I wish they were used more, because they're incredible. They're flying sequence in episode 8 was fantastic! Austin Butler remains fantastic. And I indeed love Rosie! He's a fantastic character and Nate Mann gives him so much heart and charisma. I noticed I haven't commented on it before, but Neely's score is really outstanding. It's there when it needs to be and I'm glad to see the filmmakers knew when not to have music. Makes some scenes even more impactful. Can't believe there's only 1 episode left. How is this gonna end??
  6. It's really funny to see. Some corners of the score community praise the first score while completely bashing the second. And the other side is completely the other way around. I haven't listened to the 2nd one year, but I always kinda liked what Holkenborg did with the first score. Even though it was a biiiig step down from McCreary's score. Which to me is one of the best scores this century.
  7. Well, the 2nd Masters of the Universe from earlier this year has also not been released. So there's really no telling. It kinda feels like Bear is so busy with his concept album, that they're forgetting there's other music people like to hear.
  8. Yeah, Bucky's mission is the next day right? Then suddenly between the end of episode 6 to the beginning of episode 7 months have passed. That was quite a shock.
  9. Episode 6 This was excellent. The way they showed the juxtaposition between Bucky's story and that of Crosby & Rosie was really well done. I liked seeing Rosie go that place. It was a side of the war I didn't know excisted, so that was really cool and gave us some strong character work. Bucky's parts of the episode were probably the most intense scenes this series has had yet. Loved the opening chase in the water. Then later the town was truly shocking and hard to watch. As was his escape from the wagon. His interrogation was strange because the German had so much charisma that you get kinda confused on what he will do even though you know what he will do. The train shot was horrible and the ending was weirdly cathartic. To have both that sense of joy of seeing Buck again, while still that feeling of them being prisoners was odd, but really well done.

  11. That's a great teaser!! I'm so excited for this!!!!
  12. Yeah, looks fantastic! I was afraid when I saw there were 2 trailer that it would just be the same trailer with a different voice over. So I'm glad they're actually different. I kinda hope they won't release any more trailers. And if they do, I think I'm gonna stay away from the then. Don't want to see too much.
  13. Howard Shore - The Hobbit Trilogy (Special Editions) I love these scores!! There are some truly phenomenal themes here. Sometimes it's a bit too much maybe. Especially on the 3rd album with 6 cues of battle music. But because Shore does so many interesting and cool things with his themes and the orchestra it remains a joy throughout! My personal favorite cues from all 3 albums:
  14. This won't be for everyone, but I love this type of music. Tongue firmly planted in cheek. That Main Title is just so much fun. The album's probably a bit to long, but I honestly don't care. I love this! My type of thing!
  15. Still one of my all time favorite themes. Absolutely gorgeous!
  16. X-Men '97 x Episode 1 & 2 This was fantastic!!! Animation improved and they take full advantage of that, fantastic action scenes, a great story with a strong emotional hook and a true shocker in the 2nd episode. This feels like the animated series from the '90s but it expands on it in a lot of incredible ways. The score by The Newton Brothers is also fantastic. The main themes as present as always in a few fantastic new arrangements. The rest of the score is still very synth based, with added orchestra in some action moments and emotional scenes. I already can't wait to hear it on album!
