Braveheart
First time seeing it. I know that there is quite a lot of stuff that is historically wrong, but I don't really care when a film is this good.
Absolutely loved it. 3 hours flew by I thought. And James Horner's score somehow becomes even better after seeing the film.

I was talking about the films that are going to come out. So not sure what you're going on about now.
I am saying nothing about the original films. I adore those films, some of the best I've ever seen. And I'm hoping for everyone that the upcoming films are something people who don't like RoP can enjoy.
And I'm not here to start an argument about what's better. We can all agree that the OG films will always be better than anything else based on Tolkien's words.
I was merely saying that I enjoy RoP for what it is, and I'm aware that some here and in other places don't, which is of course fine. I just don't get the infinite bashing of it on here, what are you hoping to accomplish with that?

Does it really matter if they are?
This way there will be different things for people to enjoy. I know some of you here don't enjoy RoP, which is fine, but there are plenty of people out there that do, myself included.
So I sort of hope for you guys, that the films being made at New Line will be good.

What does HBO have to do with this? The series is from Amazon Prime Video.

Well, their "dead". So if they were to return, I didn't expect the theme to appear on this album.
-
Does anyone know what the theme at 1:35 in Army Of Orcs is?
Could it maybe be a heroic rendition of either Erigion or Gil-Galad's theme? I'm having a hard time recognizing it.

I'm not sure what it is or why exactly, but Old Tom Bombadil makes me weirdly emotional. It's just triggers something in me.
Maybe it's because my dad would've also really liked this song. He didn't really listen to film music, only when I was, but he always liked these folksy kind of songs and it just makes me feel really close to him somehow.

I think Bear uses the B section of Sauron's theme for Annatar

Only just noticed that the vocals at the end of Candles On The Tide is The Faithful theme. Very cool rendition.

I revisited the S1 album this morning and straight after listened to the S2 album. Both are fantastic, although I think S1 has the slight edge because it better represents all the themes.
But besides that they're practically equals in my opinion. Some beautiful passages, thunderous action and some great dramatic moments.
I'm always having a hard time choosing my favourite theme, but I'm really starting to feel that The Stranger's theme is it. But the moment I say that I feel I'm not being fair to the great themes for Numenor, The Faithful, Bronwyn & Arondir, Galadriel & Noble Warrior.
I just love the whole thingso much and it'll be hard for me to talk about anything else in the coming weeks. Sorry, not sorry...

Based on his usage in the trailer, does this mean Gallagher will use themes from Shore. Or is he also not allowed to do so?
-
Oh, of course. Thanks for reminding me about the meaning of it.
Also just realised that with the album being 100 minutes long there is still more than 6 hours of music we haven't even heard. There is so much that could still be revealed etc. I'm so excited!!
-
I guess you mean Nolwa Mahtar? Not Noble Warrior? Or did I miss a new theme.

Fantastic Jay! I'm also really excited about the episodic albums again. It really feels like we're going on a journey in the coming weeks!
Just like you I love the S2 album, I'm even starting to enjoy the Damrod track, mostly because of how it plays on the album in between the cues surrounding it.
Only negative I have is that the themes for the dwarves and the Numenorians only appear in one cue each. It would've been really disappointing if we weren't getting the episodic albums, so I feel it's not that bad that the themes aren't as present as others here.
Like someone else said earlier, I love the vocal and choral parts of the album. All the songs feel so ingrained into the fabric of the whole work, that it never feels when a song is playing that it takes you out of the music. It's quite remarkable. Choral work overall is excellent!
My favorite cues at the moment are:
Old Tom Bombadil
Rhûn
Concerning Stoors
Sandstorm At The Well
Eregion
The Pyre
Estrid
Army Of Orcs
Battle For Eregion
Last Temptation
The Sun Yet Shines
But who am I kidding, I freaking love the whole thing, and I'm pretty sure it's my top score of the year, just like S1.

Look, I really get wanting Shore's theme incorporated in the show, but where would it fit. McCreary has been building such an exstensive musical world himself, that I don't think it would really fit anywhere.
I really love the piece, but I'm fine with it just staying in the main title. After a season it really felt like Shore was only asked to do this for publicity, but they're never gonna use it outside of the main title I think.
Like I said, to what would his theme connect and belong at this point?

I was thinking that as well earlier today, and saw someone else on twitter notice it too.
Would be really cool if it's true. We'll have to wait till a blog post I think.
