Huh. So Kinnear sings throughout the episode, and they chose to leave it all unreleased? Didn't see that coming!
He's not really singing singing in the way Benjamin Walker does in Ep. 1. He's more sort of humming/singing it quietly to himself. It's not really a performance.

Well, that's disappointing....
Hoping a score release is inbound, because I really liked some of the stuff I heard.
This is just a song album with the main and end titles.
I get why they're releasing this, but come on Watertower, how hard is it to ether put more score on there or make another album.

I did feel that the theme for the Ents is really more the percussion. And that the choral theme heard here was more of a lament of sorts. Since it doesn't really appear again.
But we'll see.

Old Tom Bombadil is the end credits of Ep. 4.
And what I thought was great is that Rory Kinnear sings the song throughout the episode. It's really fun.

0:03 & 0:43 in "Elves Embark" are really only a one-off traveling theme.

The track Elves Embark has a melody that appears twice in that track at 0:03, and again at 0:48. I'm not sure if we've heard this already anywhere else, but it kind of reminds me of Shore's opening music for An Unexpected Journey with the House of Durin theme!
Isn't that the same thing heard in "Army Of Orcs" at 0:43 & 1:35? My mind could be playing tricks on me now.
But I love those statements and I've been searching for more of it in the season and this sounds closest to it up to this point.

I don't think that is the Harfoot rhythm. The Harfoot rhythm has a slightly different beat.
The wooden percussion here sounds like it all belong to the Stoors' theme. To me it sounds very alike to one another, but I also think the key and tempo are slightly different, which makes me think it's not the same.

Woah, good catch! I haven't seen episode 3 yet, what is happening on screen during that part?
A camp of the wild men is attacked by something big which we don't see. What could it be........???
-
Awesome! It's the same type of music heard in "The Wild Men" from Ep. 3 at 1:23. There's a bit less of the wooden percussion present though.

Oh, okay. Then I understand how you've written it down.

And there are statements of Galadriel's theme at 2:02 & 2:20 in "Galadriel Stands Alone". But they start later in the theme. Really well done to McCreary.

And there's another statement of the Adar/Orc theme in the last cue right before the big crescendo at the end. I believe it's played on a deathwhistle

Does anyone know who is credited on what tracks?
On the album releases from 2021 there were a couple of different credits like in 1994 Brandon Roberts was credited on "Berman Is The Key". And in 1978 Buck Sanders was credites on "Chased Through The Woods".
Are there any credits out there for this release?

Only Murders In The Building S4xEp2: Gates Of Heaven
Another great episode. I really loved Jane Lynch in this episode. She's both really funny but also able bring some really wonderful emotional moments. Her scenes with Steve Martin were all very good.
Oliver & Mabel's search at the other side of the building was fun. The guest appearances from Richard Kind & Daphne Rubin-Vega were my favorites.
I think they're doing an excellent job of setting up and exploring the murder this season. It's feels more dangerous than it has been in previous seasons, so I like that extra bit of stakes. And the way they are able to mix that with the humour is really well done.
I also loved that Da'Vine Joy Randolph showed up again. She is such a great character, the way she's so tired of all of this with them is so funny, and I hope we'll be seeing her more this season.
There's another guest appearance that I won't spoil for anyone who has yet to see the episode, but I thought it was a mixed bag. The moments the character had with Charles were really great, but there was also some stuff that felt a bit too over the top and didn't fully work for me. The performance was great though and I just really love this show! Ready for more!

Oooh, for f**ks sake. I'm sorry. I even read past it. Don't why this keeps happening. It's driving me nuts as well.

That is The Rings Of Power theme. (Heard at 8:11 in My Name Is Not Halbrand)
The forging motif are the rolling strings that accompany it a lot of the time. (Heard at 7:13 in My Name Is Not Halbrand)
Then you also have a vocal element that a lot of the time plays over the forging motif. (Heard playing on top of the forging motof at 1:48 in True Creation Requires Sacrifice.)
All 3 together make up the Fiona Apple song. And thus is the full Rings Of Power theme.
-
Could the melody at 0:49 & 6:58 be a motof for Círdan?
I'm not sure yet if it shows up in episode 2 in cues featuring him.
But here it is the same melody twice. First is when we see him for the first time and the latter when he sees the rings for the first time.

The Killer - Marco Beltrami
One of the more plain fun scores of Beltrami's career. There's a really nice main theme in the opening track which he puts through a few great variations in the action cues.
The action cues are funky, with lot's of drums, guitar & brass. There's some sulky string writing, big orchestral outburst and even some whistling and vocals reminiscent of Morricone. It's almost like his take on a Bond or Mission: Impossible film. Great stuff.
