  1. Horns can play that fast; I doubt it was sped up.
  2. I noticed LLL’s site lists this as “Temporarily Out Of Stock”; I know there have already been a few batches, but I wasn’t sure whether LLL is usually accurate with their shipping statuses, or whether this could be Sold Out and just hasn’t been updated yet? Has it been stated that there will be any further batches of this?
  3. Maybe someone more knowledgable about this score could help answer this question: why is the film version of “The Lost Boy Chase” presented as an alternate on Disc 3, rather than in the main score program? I’m talking mainly about the drums that score the basketball sequence after the chase.
  4. Not sure if you have a Fb account, but you could try messaging them there. I had a similar situation of trying and failing to get a hold of them via email a couple months back, but they responded after I messaged them on Fb.
  5. I stand SO happily corrected. You just made my night; thank you!!! It’s one of my favorite little spots, so I’m very happy it’s here after all! My mistake was thinking that “Granny Wendy” was a combo of “The Stories Are True” and “Wendy’s Entrance.”
  6. I’ve never owned either of these scores, so this will be a treat!
  7. Just watched the movie again tonight: what a cool experience after having been exposed to this new presentation!! Some of the action material towards the end of Hook reminds me of Naboo palace action material in TPM. EDIT: It’s too bad “The Stories Are True” is missing the gorgeous flute/oboe version of the “Mothers” theme at 0:13, that can be heard at 0:11 in the “Granny Wendy” OST track! It’s missing in the movie too, so I get it, but considering the fact that the “Granny Wendy” OST take does have that solo and is also at a slightly faster tempo, it would have been nice to have that album version included. It feels weird without the tune, since the chords there are clearly outlining that theme. I thought “The Stories Are True (Alternate)” would have it, but that version of the cue goes in a totally different direction at that spot. So unless I’m missing something, it seems the OST or 2012 expansion is still necessary if you want that bit, albeit in inferior sound. Thankfully it’s just 7 notes! EDIT 2: I’m dumb. As per @John Takis, it’s in “Forgotten How to Fly”!
  8. I bet! That song in particular was a huge surprise for me. I had no idea that melody was originally a song; it always just sounded a bit to me like Home Alone leftovers. (Not that that was ever a bad thing!) And after hearing “Believe,” I will never hear “Exit Music” (nor the many appearances of that theme in the score itself) the same again! It basically becomes an instrumental version of the song, and hearing those lyrics in your head while it closes out the score, changes everything.
  9. This set is absolutely fantastic. Currently listening through the Disc 3 presentation first (trying to follow @John Takis’s suggested order from the other thread) after sampling a handful of tracks last night. I can’t believe how much these songs add to my impression of the music as a whole. (It helps that the singers all sound great!) I’m especially excited as I will be rewatching the film tonight with my brother, and it will be the coolest thing ever to hear those classic melodies again, but now while having the song versions of them in the back of my head. Can’t thank the LLL team enough for making this all happen, and kudos to you, @Jay! You should be incredibly proud! Thanks for your hard work behind the scenes all this time.
  10. This just came out today. Anyone else enjoying?
  11. Mine is supposed to arrive tomorrow (along with Hook and Sneakers). Can’t wait! I’ve recently been in a massive Horner phase, so the timing of this release couldn’t be more perfect.
  12. That is close-ish to what I’ve done. I’ve usually followed the iTunes methodology of “Film Name (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) [Whatever Edition]”, but occasionally releases like this one make me tempted to rethink that, and to just use the plainest reading of the cover/whatever name the label promotes it as. Primarily because of just how prominent “The Ultimate Edition” is in this case; it comes across as more a part of the actual title than just version information. But idk, I’m still undecided.
  13. OCD time: for iTunes/digital music library purposes, what are you guys titling this album? 1. “Hook (Original Soundtrack) [The Ultimate Edition]” 2. “Hook (Original Soundtrack / The Ultimate Edition)” 3. “Hook” 4. “Hook (2023 La-La Land)” 5. “Hook: The Ultimate Edition” 6. “Hook - The Ultimate Edition” (alternatively with an en dash, like how LLL has it) 7. Either 5. or 6. but with “(Original Soundtrack)” tacked on the end 8. Something else?
  14. Regardless, 2:28 to the end of the “Tuk Tuk Chase” OST track is one of my favorite spots on the album, and I’d even go so far as to say one of my favorite things from him in years. I was bummed it mostly didn’t make it into the film, but this is one of those cases where I think JW absolutely nailed the album track. So thankful that he put it on there.
  15. True, though I’d still consider them “musicals”; I guess my point was more that Hook would have fit in nicely as a sequel to the animated Peter Pan, because that one was similarly a movie with musical sequences (rather than a musical itself). So Hook being that way, wouldn’t have felt jarring as a sequel. I think the 90s Disney animated films do have more actual songs than the old animated Peter Pan did, but I could be misremembering.
  16. So, like the Disney animated film? And I agree.
  17. Not only that, but according to Wikipedia: It could have literally been a sequel to the Disney animated film.
  18. I’d give it a few more days; mine was “Awaiting Shipment” from Nov 27th until it finally shipped today. I wouldn’t worry.
  19. Awesome, thanks! She has a beautiful voice.
