  1. Wait a minute, this discussion is about "JW being the best film composer ever" or "Hans Zimmer sucks!" or both? I tried reading the thread, but then I fell asleep on my laptop...
  2. And also Goldsmith and Elmer Bernstein, which both died in 2004
  3. With only 65% on Rotten Tomatoes, Eternals is one of the MCU's lowest ratings, tied with Thor: The Dark World. https://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/eternals
  4. Can't wait to hear Williams' score for this scene! I'm thinking it'll be something similar to The Pursuit of the Falcon or A Whirl Through Academe, but with a Middle Eastern flavor.
  5. Judging by the trailer, I think John Powell could do an amazing job. Maybe something inspired by Horner's Apollo 13 mixed with Powell's love for expansive scores. But it'll probably be Giacchino or someone who has worked with Pixar before.
  6. He already did: https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/movies/movie-news/christopher-nolan-praises-denis-villeneuve-dune-1235036820/
  7. First trailer from Pixar's Ad Astra, I mean, Lightyear:
  8. According to Deadline, the Part 2 will be released on October 20, 2023. Unlike the first movie, the second won't have the day-and-date HBO Max release. https://deadline.com/2021/10/dune-sequel-greenlit-by-legendary-warner-bros-theatrical-release-1234862383/
  9. Don't celebrate just yet, people. Studios greenlit movies that doesn't get made all the time. After all, where's the Star Wars trilogy by Rian Johnson? The Amazing Spider-Man 3? I'll only be relieved when filming for the Part 2 begins.
  10. Scott Mendelson from Forbes thinks this is the most Zack Snyder-ish movie from Marvel: https://www.forbes.com/sites/scottmendelson/2021/10/24/eternals-review-marvel-angelina-jolie-salma-hayek-chloe-zhao/
  11. The last few posts on this thread should be moved to the garbage to a "I hate James Horner, do you?" thread.
  12. Don't forget the finale for The Big Bang Theory, which also happened in 2019!
  13. DATA: ‘DUNE’ OPENING WEEKEND HBO MAX VIEWERSHIP TOPPED ‘JUSTICE LEAGUE,’ ‘IN THE HEIGHTS’
  14. Goldsmith's The Russia House is the perfect score if you want to get laid.
  15. Oh crap, I love the score for Troy, so to know that it was mostly ghost-written is depressing AF. I should stop entering this thread because every time I do I lose part of my will to live.
  16. I'm not a fan of HZD's combat system, especially for close range. There's some other open world RPGs with more engaging fights. And the parkour isn't great either, although I'm playing it after finishing an Assassin's Creed game where the parkour was so much fun. The RPG elements are pretty good though. They make the game more challenging and thus more engaging.
  17. I've been enjoying Horizon Zero Dawn, mostly due to the main story, worldbuilding and visuals (the gameplay isn't great). Also I'm having a lot of fun with the photo mode:
  18. The Canal (2014) Tells the story of an archivist who lives near a canal in Ireland which he thinks it's haunted. The premise is interesting, but the movie is terrible. It's a low budget movie but the editing is so amateurish that makes it look like something done by Cinema students. In theory it has everything I like in a horror movie (a slow descent into madness, ghosts that can be real or not, creepy old videos depicting murders that haunt the protagonist) but it lacks a sinister atmosphere. Everything about this movie looks off, like they filmed the rehearsals and released it as the final cut. Don't know how this crap got 75% on RT.
  19. Paycheck - John Powell Amazing! The whole deluxe edition is 95-minutes long but without a single boring second. The listening experience is just great! Despite the fact that we've been living in Peak Powell since at least 2014, I also think his early 2000s scores (El Dorado, Evolution, Shrek, Robots and this one) are tons of fun.
  20. Great news for everyone who is hoping for the sequel! https://www.forbes.com/sites/scottmendelson/2021/10/23/friday-box-office-dune-nabs-spicy-18m-as-french-dispatch-impresses/ That doesn't mean the movie's already a hit though. Black Widow had a great opening day but a lousy weekend overall.
  21. The same James Horner who later would write amazing scores for M. Night Shyamalan? Great!
  22. Driving with the Top Down is a very funny and badass cue.
  23. Hayden Christensen Returning to Star Wars With ‘Ahsoka’ Series (Exclusive)
