Mr. Blue reacted to Jurassic Shark in John Williams & the Vienna Philharmonic: January 18/19 2020
Nope, it's clearly a subjective theory. I'm not presenting it as fact.

I'm sorry, I'm not accepting this. You seem intent on interpreting everything I write in the most offensive way possible. But, as you state yourself, you only come here to read opinions that are similar to your own. I'll never understand such narrow minded attitude.
When I wrote about JW's health, that was based on my reaction when I first watched footage from the VPO concerts, and I've since been wondering whether possible health issues affected the concert. I could probably have elaborated better my thoughts about this. I though he looked somewhat reduced, and not entirely up to the task. He also looked confused now and then, and I wager I'm not the only one who's made that observation. Do I write this because I like that one of my heroes is in decline? Of course not. However, not writing about difficult things does not make them go away. And it's not like I've been spamming this thread with my observations about his health. It's limited to a few posts, and I think I made it clear I was expressing a subjective opinion. Dismissing this as a conspiracy theory is the worst kind of suppression techniques.

Mr. Blue reacted to Steve in John Williams' public conducting debut
Hello,
I'm currently researching Johnny's public conducting career. I know we have some Williams historians here. I'm looking for the year/date of Johnny's conducting debut in a concert setting.
He conducted in the army, but I'm more interested in him conducting large orchestras (e.g. Boston Pops, LA Phil). I know he started conducting concerts regulary in 1980 when he was named Boston Pops conductor.
He debuted with the Pops in 1978, the LA Phil in 1978 and LSO in 1978. I'm also aware of the 1976 Royal Philharmonic concert.
The earliest I know is him being the music director and conductor at the 1973 academy awards. How much did he conduct in the 1970s? I know he didn't really view himself as a concert conductor until the started with the Boston Pops.
Here is an interesting article about his conducting history: https://www.latimes.com/archives/la-xpm-1998-aug-06-ca-10429-story.html
Any additions to this topic would be appreciated
