I was 7 when I got my first soundtrack album. My aunt had noticed I kept humming the music from Harry Potter and she bought the OST for me for Christmas 2001.
I was too young to be embarrassed by my taste in music, I played the soundtrack for all of my friends, haha. Me and a good mate even rehearsed a dance routine for the entire album that we made our parents watch!  I still remember our choreograpy to Visit to the Zoo and Letters from Hogwarts! Kids are weird yo

It's been almost a year since the concert was announced. This change is undoubtedly due to health reasons. We would all like the Maestro to keep going until he's 100, but conducting (especially at fast tempos syncing to film) requires a lot of energy and at 91 he's already a decade over the average life expectancy.

Given how it's sold out and turnbacks get snapped up within minutes, you can try and ring the NYPhil and ask for a refund, but you might regret it.

Getting to see him in person is an immense privilege, and even if he can only conduct part of the concert, one should appreciate every moment as if it were the final concert.

Wonderful evening!! Williams remarked that while he doesn’t do “Born on the Fourth of July” often, he wanted to hear the Cleveland Orchestra do it, especially Michael Sachs. He also ended the evening by coming out one more time after the iconic “sleepy hands” to say good night and that if the audience kept being so nice to him, he’d have to live to be 100!

Really strong performances. Helena’s Theme is even more beautiful live, and hearing Obi-Wan live again (this time prepared for it and not crying from a surprise appearance like at Celebration earlier this year) was fantastic. Sabrina’s Theme is also always so gorgeous and a strong inclusion.

Encores were Yoda’s Theme, Raiders March (not the abbreviated version - Marion’s Theme was intact!), and Imperial March.

This was my 23rd time seeing Williams conduct live, and my last one of the year. Until next time, Maestro!

He definitely doesn’t consult anyone beforehand. One of my favorite concert memories seeing him was at Carnegie Hall earlier this year when he was introducing Across the Stars. He couldn’t remember which Star Wars it was from, even going so far as to say he hadn’t looked it up prior, so I held up two fingers right in front of him, and he looked at me with a laugh and announced it’s from Episode II. Then he looked at me and asked if it was the movie “associated with Natalie Portman, I think - is that right?”, which I confirmed. Just casually confirming Star Wars trivia with John Williams from the podium at a legendary venue. Even better, it’s in the radio broadcast! Life highlight right there.

First I went to New York to see the Maestro conduct his music with the Philadelphia Orchestra and Anne-Sophie Mutter at Carnegie Hall back in April 2022. Now, I am definitely going back to New York for this. I am getting tickets the moment they are available to order. Awesome!

I’d like to say that the Maestro does not look 90 at all, and he conducted the orchestra with such energy, I was like, “Wow!” He really looks great!

Amazing first half! He started to do his usual speech about not remembering which of the nine Star Wars films Across the Stars is from, but I held up two fingers right in front of him and he gleefully reacted and announced that it was from the second film “with Natalie Portman”. What a neat moment! Gonna remember that forever.

For those of us unable to by in NYC on Thursday (or unable to obtain tickets), it does appear that the concert will be broadcast live on WQXR and streamed online.

    https://www.carnegiehall.org/Explore/Watch-and-Listen/WQXR-Broadcasts

I doubt that this will be available on demand but I could be wrong.

I was also hoping Carnegie+ on AppleTV would broadcast a video, and if that is happening, I don’t see any evidence yet. I guess it could show up for on demand after the fact. Since it is not in the announcement, I doubt that we will get more than audio. However, I am very happy to have that!

(The same concert in Philadelphia on Tuesday does not appear to be streamed as the Philadelphia Orchestra site shows their next streaming audio concert to be April 20, the day after the JW/ASM concert in that city.)

I don't think Spielberg is interested in making that kind of movie again.  Ready Player One was the last "light adventure" film he makes would be my bet.  Just see him pulling out of directing Indy 5.  They can blame it on "scheduling conflicts" all they want, but if Spielberg really wanted to make it, they would have made it work for him.  I firmly believe that.

Tickets will start selling on Tuesday, April 19, 2022 at 2PM CEST through the Vivaticket circuit: https://www.vivaticket.com

Price is not yet confirmed, but I expect it will be in the usual range of € 110 max. - €20 min.

At first, because of some unclear wording on the original press release, it looked like this would be an outdoor concert in Milan's main Duomo square, but today it's been confirmed that the concert will take place in the legendary Teatro alla Scala, one of the temples of opera and classical music in the world.

This is another historic moment in John Williams' career. It truly feels incredible to imagine the Maestro walking on the stage of this amazing place full of history and conduct a concert of his own music.

I went to the reshearsal with my childhood friend. I'm 27, he's 26 and 20 of for those years we've been listening to John Williams together.
I can't really describe how it felt to see him live. My friend and I couldn't even really talk about it, and I guess it's meaningless to try anyway. Let's just say it was a deeply emotional experience.

I feel the need to share this experience with someone who might understand it, but I can't even put it into words (not even in Danish, if I tried, haha). I just feel so lucky to live in a world with and at the same time as John Williams!

I like the Berlin Setlist more than the Vienna from 2020.
It is no surprise that he conducts some pieces from the Hollywood Bowl. I think, the Hollywood Bowl and now Boston in a couple of days are the warm ups for Berlin. And we don´t know the Encores. I think there will be some surprises. Maybe Anne-Sophie Mutter will take the stage as a special Guest and play a piece or so....After the Boston concerts she has a break. And the next concert after that is in germany. So maybe he fly back to germany together with JW. I´am sure he will be at the concerts in Berlin. She and JW have a close friendship....But thats all rumours.

Public tickets for this are now on sale! Originally got Orchestra row P online, but my call to the box office was answered right after and they were able to get third row seats! Off to the side, but third row is third row. Surreal I’ll be seeing the maestro in such an equally legendary venue.
