What examples can you think of? A few that come immediately to mind for me are We Were Sodiers by Nick Glennie-Smith, Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow by Edward Shearmur, and Bridge to Terabithia by Aaron Zigman.

Wow, I really like this idea! I hope more composers start picking it up. I don't really have much interest in either of these scores, but I'm very tempted to buy them for a good price just to support the idea.

I like what I'm hearing so far. Parts sound a bit Elfman-ish (think Spider-man), but that's not necessarily a bad thing for a comic book movie.

Classic-fanfare David Arnold or modern-techno David Arnold? If the former, I might possibly be able to concede. What action music has JNH written? I love his scores, but they all seem to be slow, flowing music rather than action.

Yet another fantastic score from Powell. A welcome relief after Green Zone, which I still can't really get into. Also, I've been wondering how long it would take for Powell to incorporate bagpipes in one of his scores. He seems to have a penchant for using nontypical instruments in unusual ways for his animated scores.

How is Vangelis not a film composer?

Yeah, Richard Harvey is a fantastic but unfortunately little-known composer. Some other stuff he's done includes Animal Farm, Arabian Knights, Luther, Death of a President, and a single track from The Da Vinci Code. He also plays rare woodwind instruments for a ton of soundtracks including The Lion King, The Chronicles of Narnia, and Harry Potter. The two Fantasia CDs are excellent! They are my favorites of his music. I'll send you a PM if you (or anyone else) is interested. Unfortunately, I don't know anything about The Martian Chronicles, sorry.

The rarest thing I have of John Williams is the Trilogy Anthology box set, but it's really not that hard to get a hold of. The rarest music-related things I have are Richard Harvey's Fantasia and Fantasia 2 production music CDs. Took me a few years of scouring eBay to finally nab those suckers. A lot of composers like Alan Silvestri, Danny Elfman, or John Powell have a very definite distinct feel to their music, but I don't know that I could place exactly what it is.

I find some of the track names in John Powell's Green Zone to be rather humorous. They included "Googles" (as a verb) and "WTF." lol 1. Opening Book 2. 1st WMD Raid 3. Traffic Jam 4. Meeting Raid 5. Helicopter / Freddy Runs 6. Questions 7. Miller Googles 8. Truth / Magellan / Attack 9. Mobilize / Find Al Rawi 10. Evac Preps Part 1 11. Evac Preps Part 2 12. Attack and Chase 13. WTF 14. Chaos / Email Anyone else listened to it yet? It strikes me as very Bourne-ish (pretty much what I was expecting), but even less thematic. I'm not hugely impressed yet, but then most Powell scores seem to take a while to grow on me.

It's true that they probably could just force eBay to end the auction, but chances are that would make a horrible PR backlash and they have to know that. Plus, if they are trying to save it for an expanded release, a few thousand isn't going to make all that much difference in the long run. Of course with this other leak that's now out, it won't make much difference one way or the other.

But my point is, this current high bidder jumped in when the price was, what, around $700? And then, from around $700, he put over $1500 in one single bid! That's not what a false bidder does. Whoever it is, the current high bidder clearly does want to win (and probably will). Edit: Looking back at the bid history, the current bid had not quite reached $500 yet when our current high bidder put in his high bid.

I would highly doubt that, actually. A. Ebay is pretty good at catching those things. B. The high bidder is not acting like someone wanting to up the price without actually winning. Those people typically want to put in a lot of small increments in the bids. This guy just has one single HUGE bid that has been repeatedly moved up by other bidders without being surpassed.

So, the current highest bidder has bought exactly zero previous auctions. How much do you want to bet that's a new account set up by a record company to buy this so it doesn't get leaked? And, if that is the case, perhaps an expanded score release is planned?

I was listening to Return of the Jedi (Anthology), and I noticed what sounded like a glitch in "Through the Flames." I thought at first that it might have been an error in ripping my CD, but I checked it against "The Main Reactor" (same track in SE), and the same "glitch" is there too. Anyone else notice this? Is it from a poor edit? Or maybe a glitch in the masters? It certainly doesn't sound natural. It's at 1:13 in the Anthology version or at 5:41 in "The Battle Of Endor III (Superstructure Chase / Darth Vader's Death / The Main Reactor)" from the SE.

WAV is just a bit over 10 and 1/3 MB per minute, so take however many minutes of JW music there are and multiply it.

I would use something less volatile than flash memory for the back-up if I were you. A 3.5 HDD is going to be cheaper for the same ammount of storage space anyway.
