  1. Ah, my bad. I read it to mean 1. Not having seen the movie and 2. Not having heard the score for so long. lol
  2. You need to rectify that situation immediately!
  3. She must have been sucking on it long enough to let saliva enter the connector and complete the electrical circuit. Otherwise, there's no possibility of receiving a shock from such a device (unless, of course, the device was malfunctioning).
  4. Can't believe I didn't think about this one earlier, but Donnie Darko definately pulls this off well.
  5. Just sounds like two soft timpani hits to me. I did notice what sounds like someone dropping something at 0:30 in "Marty's Letter" though.
  6. It's been mentioned twice so far, but yeah, BTTF nailed this.
  7. To modify a quote from a song from the original soundtrack release from Back to the Future: ♪Heaven is one click away!♪
  8. Mine arrived! I'm with joey225, though. I can't open it yet. This is one of my all-time favorite scores, and I've been waiting for a proper release for as long as I've known what a soundtrack is. And there it is, just sitting in front of me. I well-remember the absolute ecstasy of first getting my hands on the now-obsolete b**tleg, but that doesn't even compare. *deep breath* I'm going to do it. I will open the CD case!
  9. Except that Forest Gump actually is a masterpiece. Avatar is an entertaining rehash with awesome graphics. I wouldn't be surprised if Avatar does win, but I don't think it would deserve it.
  10. Okay, so if I am understanding the thread correctly, you're asking which movie introduced us to each of our favorite composers? Here's the quick list of examples I can think of off the top of my head. David Arnold - Independence Day Danny Elfman - Batman Michael Giacchino - The Incredibles Jerry Goldsmith - Airforce One James Horner - Project X Steve Jablonsky - Steamboy Michael Kamen - Robin Hood John Powell - Evolution Alan Silvestri - Back to the Future Shirley Walker - Final Destination John Williams - Star Wars Hans Zimmer - Gladiator
  11. Avatar is nothing special. It's just Dances with Wolves in space with a standard cut-and-paste Horner score. The graphics are top-notch, so I would grant it an award for that, but otherwise, meh. Don't get me wrong, it's a pretty decent movie and all, but it's getting way more hype than it really deserves.
  12. I'm just jumping in this thread now, because I didn't get around to ordering my copy until recently. Anywho, I agree with the idea that the theme probably represents the DeLorean itself more than anything. That's how I've always looked at it anyway.
  13. Back to the Future hands down. I've been waiting for that release for as long as I've been listening to soundtracks.
  14. But the list is for "most listened to." I hear Adagio being played way more than most on that list, with the possible exceptions of Fortuna and the Planets. Another thing I noticed. Tchaikovsky's piece is listed twice, but it's not nearly as popular as his 1812.
  15. I'm surprised that Samuel Barber's "Adagio for Strings" isn't on that list.
  16. Spanish and Portuguese are very similar. I know a guy who grew up in Brazil, and he says you can pretty much figure out the one if you know the other.
  17. I think that's about it, unless you count political movies like JFK or Nixon. Maybe American Journey? Chuck - waiting with anticipation for someone to post the ship-heading-into-the-waterspout picture.
  18. I have not used either extensively (I use Notation Composer myself), but for the little bit that I have experimented with Finale and Sibelius, I found Sibelius to have a much more intuitive easy to use interface. Everything is where I would expect it to be, as opposed to Finale where I have to hunt to find anything.
  19. More screen-time for the sweetest villain in the Star Wars universe before he dies.
  20. Easily The Incredibles for me. Just plain awesome in every way. Ratatouille is also good, but too, um, "French-sounding" for my tastes. Up has a good theme and a few really cool moments, but I find it rather boring otherwise.
  21. How many Zimmers are there? I thought there was only one!
  22. Yeah, I think the literary characters of LOTR will last for quite a while, but not necessarily the movie-specific ones.
