  1. And I'm betting Lincoln will sound like Elfman.
  2. Buckbeak's Flight from Prisoner of Azkaban, and Rescue from Sinbad (the Harry Gregson Williams one).
  3. It's an insanely hard decision, but I'd say Indy by just a little bit.
  4. I thought Elfman's score for the first was pretty good.
  5. Hmm, I think that was just for you. I haven't had any problems with it.
  6. Not a discography, but a films list. I know it's not exactly what he was asking, it's just another good resource so I thought I'd mention it.
  7. Some other good places to look are http://www.imdb.com/ and http://www.soundtrackcollector.com/.
  8. Hmm, I have not listened to this soundtrack before, but my first impression is that the main title sounds like a highly synthesized Fanfare for the Common Man.
  9. I'm a big fan of a lot of movies, but I generally like the music more than the movie itself. I also have a tendency to judge the movie itself primarily by the score. And there are plenty of movies that I watch for no reason other than the soundtrack.
  10. Most of my arrangements are for piano, but you may feel free to adapt from any of them if you'd like too. Also, I'm working on Jack Sparrow's Theme for strings (hope to finish it sometime this summer).
  11. Hey, I like figuring out that sort of stuff too. I just don't know what it is either.
  12. Rubbish, with that philosophy in mind you can defend anything! Aren't you the one who said a while ago that there are no absolutes? You can't have it both ways.
  13. I frankly don't car how it was made, just how it sounds.
  14. I still don't get why everyone hates MV so much. Sure, it's not nearly as musically intricate as John Williams, but it's just fun music. And MV really excels in action sequences.
  15. Personally, when one composer does a series of movies, and someone else has to take over, I would rather have mostly the original themes reused than to give the whole movie a different feel because of a different music style.
  16. I've never heard of Dukas before, but Adagio for Strings is awesome.
  17. That's really annoying. I live in Maryland, but right now I'm stuck in college in South Carolina, and won't get home for summer until the week after that. *weeps*
  18. If that's considered "the weirdest," then I must be, like, ultra-weird.
  19. Are you kidding? Some of Steve Jablonsky's stuff is awesome. Have you heard his score to Steamboy?
  20. Yes! I can't wait to hear a new Steve Jablonsky soundtrack!
  21. I have not seen sneakers, or heard the score, but the best Horner score (IMO) has to be A Beautiful Mind.
  22. Out of those: Prisoner of Azkaban, with The Phantom Menace in a very close second. Out of all of JW's scores: probably The Last Crusade, although it's pretty close to the above two.
  23. My brother plays clarinet... Or did anyway. I don't think he's touched it in a while.
  24. ELFMAN: No but sometimes the sound of the newsroom, things that -- the copy machine, the different sounds, other machines influence me and kind of works its way later into the rhythm of a piece. You know, I didn`t realize until later that a rhythm that kind of got in my head when I was working the "Spider-Man" theme actually came from my co-worker`s word processor. They were working on a story, and that was just the sound of them typing. ---- Haha, that's awesome!
