For some reason Gilliam was attracted to the escapist feel of the jazzy "Brazil."
So, the whole movie was seriously named after the song, despite having no connection to the country?

-
What on earth does the movie Brazil have to do with Brazil?

This looks like a pretty good selection of music. I gotta say though, I just can't get past that hideous cover art. I can't fathom what the artist was thinking. "Hey I've got an idea! I'll take a black and white picture of JW, and then I'll throw a rainbow over his face for absolutely no reason!" lol

... flip the audio ... 180 out of phase, and juxtapose it ...
How do you do that? Can it be done in Audacity?
I couldn't tell you, I don't use Audacity. It might work in theory.
I looked it up and played around with it a bit. You actually can do that in Audacity. It's called the "Invert" effect. I don't have any DVDs with an isolated score to actually try a full score removal, though.

Cloverfield has no score until the credits. Spielberg's first film, Duel, has almost no score.

You gotta be kidding me? That sucks!
-
Next year nothing. We've still got Knight and Day, Jonah Hex, and Fair Game for this year!

Meltdown > Dawn Of The Dinosaurs
I agree. Both are pretty good though.
You know, after listening to both of these more, I'm going to have to retract and reverse my original assessment.

Klaus Badelt is pretty much how you think you would say it.
You actually pronounce the "l" then? I would have thought that would be silent, sounding kind of like cadet.

Moor-i-cone-ee.
What about the first name? Is it En-ee-oh, Ain-ee-oh, or Een-ee-oh?
-
I'll start with two for which I have no idea. I've heard about three different versions for each of these. What's the right way?
Ennio Morricone
Klaus Badelt

Either way. The earlier versions were all so much better.

Check out the 2006 Original SW Trilogy DVD covers for the complete opposite process.

You're kidding, right?

Take The Untouchables for example. This is one of my favorite movie posters (one of my favorite movies too, actually).

Very clean and uncluttered. An almost perfect poster. The VHS stayed very close.

But then the DVD release came along, and they changed the tint, and added completely unnecessary font effects to the title.

Worse yet, for the Special Collector's Edition, they ran a bunch of bullet holes through it! Not to mention the red box and tacky frame.

And thus is has stayed for the Blu-ray version, although at least they cleaned up the frame a bit.

Strange, I could have sworn he was already knighted. Oh well...
Yeah, same here. I read the title and assumed this was an old thread...

Warning! This thread will contain spoilers.
You gotta love those track names that give away key points of the plot. What are some of the best ones you've seen?
One of my favorites is track 11 from The Sixth Sense:
Malcolm is Dead
-
Marion, but just barely. Both are great.

If you're into Giacchino, you should definitely invest in at least one of his LOST soundtracks. (There are currently five, with a sixth most likely on the way.) The music will be more meaningful if you're into the show, but it's still fantastic regardless.
I would disagree. Only get the Lost soundtracks if you've seen at least some of the show. I found the music incredibly boring before watching it. After watching it, the music makes sense however.
-
Fantastic. I didn't know what it was at the time, but I loved hearing "Reach for the Stars" in trailers. Great fun.
If you're interested, I've already ripped and uploaded these. I'd send you a PM, but it seems your inbox is full.

Chuck, do you have the actual Richard Harvey Fantasia CDs, or did you get them digitally?
I spent a couple years and a little too much money to actually hunt down the original CDs on eBay.

-
What? If there are any Horner CDs that are acceptable to own, Titanic is definately one of them.
-
Joey Newman:
By the way, I'm starting to compile the whole list in the first post of the thread. Let me know if I missed any of them there.

Fantasia and Fantasia 2 by Richard Harvey.

What's this music?

If they are in fact copyrighted by a major label, YouTube just might be kind enough to identify the music for you, thus saving us the trouble.
