Was it just me, or is the little 7-note motif at the start of the track when the ship first starts lifting off a nod to the intro to 11m6-12m1 Leia Is Wounded from ROTJ?
It happens in episode 1 at about 38:50 and repeats later at around 40:22 where it gets repeated and then gets a little variation.
The notes are quite different but the structure of the melody, rhythm and speed are almost identical besides the last not being drawn out longer in the show cue.

What really happening, @Demodex, is that you've been getting absolutely nowhere for years.
I told you what you didn't understand long ago. You just didn't want to hear it. My theories and predictions are substantiated by literal canon evidence, most significantly from the Saga films. All told, my observations conceptualize the grander story in a truly meaningful way and make sense of what remains unclear, incomplete, or lame about it.
The single fact that Episode IX (trIXie) cost a mind-blowing $416 million should raise eyebrows. The other evidence - like the lengthy shooting schedule and 90 minutes of 'unused' John Williams' score - should further intrigue any reasonable person.
From a certain point of view, TROS was a masterpiece.

No need to do that if the Final Trilogy (FT) brings back some familiar faces.
Lucasfilm has demonstrated relentless patience. The game they're playing is reflected in the story itself.
You're right, Disney/Lucasfilm 'can do whatever they want, whenever they want.' They are doing what suits the story and the telling of it.
When the vast majority of the Star Wars audience finds out what has happened, I expect they'll be pleasantly surprised and turn back towards Star Wars.

I already presented the reasons for the distraction and the evidence that supports this theory. You just can't wrap your mind around the possibility that not only do you - and so many others - have no clue what's happening with Star Wars... or worse, that you've seen the clues I presented but are actively denying what they heavily imply because my theories don't fall in line with your long held Star Wars assumptions.
If I'm correct in predicting what happens next with Star Wars, the people monetarily taking advantage of the widespread fan disenchantment will have completely fallen for Disney/Lucasfilm's trap... and actually helped them spring it on their viewers/supporters. Their embarrassment of riches will become just embarrassment.
Nah, Disney/Lucasfilm just need to show the audience how much has been misunderstood about their product. It will be done with the story, as planned.

Man. Most of the season, it's been a joy to watch the episodes after getting to know the episode albums, discovering the context for all the great music, and finding a new appreciation for the music as a result.
But episode 8... that was rough. As scene after scene was disappointing me because they were confusing, or boring, or poorly written, or didn't live up to prior payoff - or some manor of combination of those aspects - it was just deflating.
If anything, I've found a new appreciation for Bear himself, to be able to write such amazing music - at a completely consistent level from start of season to end - in the face of so much bad writing and execution by the makers of the show!
When I went back and listened to the tracks at the end of the season album after most of the season had aired (purposely avoiding them after the initial listen), the ending part of the track "Durin's Bane" conjured an image in my head of the Balrog coming out of the darkness to bring King Durin III to his death and Durin IV can not stop it. Watching the scene was satisfying, knowing that Bear had painted such a precise picture with his music like that.
I was so intrigued by "The White Flame" with those awesome Númenor and Faithful variants, and it was a bit odd to see they were for a super rushed scene that was the only time we checked in on the place. Bear really made the best of this hasty almost-montage he was given to score! And the transition into the ending of "Army of Orcs" is just the same in the show as it is on the episode album
"No Passage for Low Men" is such a rewarding track, to hear that Estrid theme finally come to prominence and mean something. Too bad the actual scene made me feel like I was watching a CW show! I was wondering why Númenor showed up in the track and it was interesting to learn it was because Kemen shows up at Pelargir to take over. I wonder if that shit will get his own theme next season because I associate the Númenor theme with the glory of the place, not its worst aspects.
"Wounds That Have Endured" scores some of the silliest stuff in the whole episode, but it really makes me want to go back and learn the season 1 version of Adar's theme more: In season 2 it seemed like it was mostly the drum beat and Nampat chant.
"The Fall of Galadriel", wow! I don't know which version I like better; While "The Fall of Galadriel" has tons of cool stuff in it that "The Last Temptation" doesn't, the perfectly crafted streamlined nature of "The Last Temptation" really is something. I was glad to see that this was all continuous music in the show, with the many themes coming in as we check in with various other stories. The way Bear wrote it all to still work together as a 12 minute assembly is astonishing! This music really is a rewarding payoff to a season of build up in a lot of ways.
"Shadow and Flame" may be fairly continuous in the episode (as has already been pointed out, there's actually a brief unscored scene in the middle just before Galdriel's first appearance in the track), but it doesn't have nearly the flow that "The Fall of Galadriel" has; it often feels more like a collection of scenes than a grand idea. And boy was it disheartening to see what a silly ending that brilliant "The Sun Yet Shines" track actually scores. I am amazed that Bear found inspiration to write just a great piece of music for a nothingburger ending.
So overall, not a good television show, but fantastic A+ music. And its the gift that keeps on giving as people keep finding and posting more subtle theme variations, and Bear's weekly blogs shed more light on the whole thing. What a treat!

I've been watching the olympics in Korea for the past week or so. This is normally the place you would expect to hear JW music, but I haven't heard a single note of anything he actually wrote for the olympics.

That was a great ending to what turned out to be a great season, and one of the best season finales I've ever seen. I wouldn't complain if it became the series finale of the entire show!
This is kind of a weird thing I've never experience before, where the season wasn't perfect, had its flaws, everytime I thought it could be heading into great territory it'd do something that really perplexed me..... and then the ending, specifically just the final scene (by that I mean the entire 15-20 minute ending sequence) was SO good, it retroactively elevated the entire season to greatness for me. This is so refreshing after watching so much television where the opposite happens (shows are intriguing and seem to building to a big payoff, and then they don't stick the landing).
Before the great ending, we had a lot of wrapup to get there, most of which was honestly clunky or confusing. Roy killing his new wife's father was interesting, kind of a hero moment because that guy was such a bad person, but also oddly strange because it was yet another murder Roy is committing. Dot shooting him right after was awesome, but I don't know why it was never made clear if the new wife knew she was there, IE they were working together to take him down, or if it was just a coincidence? I don't know if I would have preferred her finishing the job and killing him right there, or the ultimate ending we got for him. More on that in a bit.
Before his ultimate capture, that scene with Witt was heartbreaking. Witt was one of the easiest characters to completely root for (along with Dot and Indira) and man did I want him to survive the season. The fact that he was too good and trusting even up against the prime example of a person you shouldn't be is just so heartbreaking. RIP Witt! When Roy gets captured and the FBI agents tell him that it was Gator that sold him out, I was completely confused. What does that even mean? They already had a ton of reasons to arrest him and put him away for life just based on the shootout at his compound + him murdering Odin + him murdering Witt (a STATE cop). So exactly what did Gator tell them that changed anything? I thought it was maybe where the tunnel leads to but come out, it was a big flat plain, they'd of found him without Gator's help. So yeah... I don't get it.
I actually thought the little moment Gator shared with Dot afterward was nice. He seems to have genuine remorse for everything bad he did and Dot seems to understand how much of that was his terrible upbringing by a truly terrible person. Her reunion with Wayne and Scotty was so rewarding, and the interaction with Lorraine was interesting. Does Lorraine actually feel empathy for everything Dot has gone through and overcome, or is she just happy that she shot Roy and it led to him being captured? At least she's willing to receive a hug, at least for a short while lol
One year later, sort of wasn't expecting that. I like to know that Dot is completely safe, and runs the dealership with Wayne, and Scotty is doing well too. But I was not really sure what to make of Indira. The second she told her husband off, he was never mentioned again, and I never got a sense of how she feels about the whole situation once he's out of her life for a while. And I never was sure what to think about if her working for Lorraine was a good or bad thing, which only gets more complicated in the jail scene....
It's so fitting that Roy actually enjoys prison life (or at least puts on a convincing front that that's the case), between his swastika tattoo and his statement that the segregation of races and violence-based power dynamic all he ever wanted (yikes). When Lorraine sends Indira away before revealing that she'll make his life a living hell by paying off everyone in jail to torture and rape him, that was just so strange. Who am I supposed to be rooting for here? Sure, Roy is a total villain and deserves some level of punishment for all his crimes. But is it that? And Lorraine, well, Lorraine is a villain too! Sure, she kind of came around on Dot, and got the feds to go to Roy's compound and help save the day. But she's still making obscene amounts of money off people who don't deserve it, and is now using her power to perform more crimes on a person in prison. I just don't know what the messaging is supposed to be here, nor how much Indira is on board with! Maybe she'll turn up in another season or something....
And finally we arrive at the ending. I think the show did a largely good job of making you forget about Munch, or at least assuming his story was over when he got his revenge on Gator, then freed Dot from the well, telling her that the tiger was now free. So for him to turn up in her home, AN ENTIRE YEAR LATER was so bizarre at first. But as the scene went on, everything really clicked in to place, and the theme and message of the whole season was laid out so beautifully, elevated so much by just top-notch acting by everyone in the scene. Wayne was SO FUNNY at just the right times ("we saw a tiger in the zoo once!"), and both him and Scotty had a perfect sort of smile on the outside, but you could tell aware of the danger inside. Dot played every angle of the situation perfect. Sam Spruell though ultimately just KILLED IT as a Munch. From the cold delivery of his backstory (which I personally feel is probably his own delusion and not a magical reality of the show's universe) to the tiny ways he'd be shook from it by being handed a beer, or told to wash his hands, or asked to make the biscuits, all culminating with that euphoric smile when he tastes the biscuit made with love.... utter perfection. What a scene, and what great acting all around!
The theme of debt was so carefully woven into various parts of the story all season, and it was wonderful to see it culminate in this way. Tiny housewife Dot convincing the big brute there to kill her that not all debts need to be repaid, that it is OK for debt to be forgiven at times, so amazing to watch unfold. My only wish was that this idea somehow paid off into the other debt storylines. Lorraine obviously runs a debt collecting company, and it seems that she was just go about business as usual, unchanged by what happened this season. Wayne had that hilarious moment when he wanted to exchange "a car for a car, that's fair!", but it doesn't seem anything about his business will change. And Indira was saddled with insane amounts of financial debt, either all or mostly due to her lame-ass husband, but they sort of made it seem like it was basically done away with by her just working for Lorraine for a long enough time?
These are minor quibbles I suppose; While on one hand I would have liked to have seem some of these things explored more, the actual ending we got was so well done, I basically just leave the season feeling so completely satisfied by everything.

For me the biggest weakness of the show is, if anything like a conflict comes up it is resolved in no time.
This way on a psychological or relationship level there is hardly anything going on. People speak sentences that seem to be about something, but then everybody is understanding, everybody cares. And if there is shortly suspicion or distrust somebody jumps the stage and explains everything. So everybody is fine then. That's annoyingly senseless.

I think it's amusing that these videos are making criticism out of context instead of looking where the show really fails. The editing mostly.
The witches were training the blocking, but they failed, Osha and May failed the block, and two grown woman failed too. We haven't seen their confrontation with the Jedi, but they all ended up dead and all 4 Jedi lived. There's nothing to prove the Sith is a newbew, the Jedi also weren't there for him, they were there for Mae, that every Jedi she encontered easily disposes of her and she had to cheat to win. It is weird they send so many to catch someone they said were lacking in skill, but I guess they needed red shirts for the Sith Fight.
There's also a discussion earlier in episode 4, where a group of Jedi is discussing who could've trained Mae, and they refuse to even think of the Sith, that lines up with The Phantom Menace when they believed Qui-Gon after he died. Yes they might never bring up this event to the High Council, that doesn't really have anything to do with their Heigh Power, but like it or not, it's a thing already set up by the Phase 3 books of the High Republic.
I do not get complaining about the deaths, Indara chose to save a civilian life instead of her own, that's a Jedi thing to do, and she chose that willingly. Torbin was in an internal exile for his guilt, that's why he killed himself. Kelnacca's offscreen death was bullshit (if they weren't hyping him up, it might have worked, but that's more the marketing team fault)
And Palpatine did stomp 3 Jedi especially selected to fight him by Windu in Revenge of the Sith... All High Council.
I don't know exactly what you think when "the Jedi at the heigh of their power" comes up... they are not gods, and shouldn't really be written as such. In the prequels, since they were mostly isolated in Coruscat and because of the Clone Wars, they fell so much in public perception that Palps could say they intended a coup and people believe it. Here Jedi are stationed in planets, people like them, they are more proactive. What this series intended to do is show the start of their fall, so it's not really about the height. Read the High Republic books to get that, I think they did a very good job of showing their power and have them struggle as well, it's more character focused.
