ragoz350 got a reaction from Cerebral Cortex in RESTORED ISOLATED SCORE: Star Wars Saga (Unused Music Restored To Picture)
While I was trying to sync all Battle on Naboo stuff to the movie, I found fun thing. If the Gungans retreat scene is divided into two parts (split at the moment when Jar-Jar is on the tank), and in the first half a sketch is cut out where JJ is running from the cannonballs, then the scene is well syncing (as it seems to me) with the second half of 6M6 Up the Wire cue.
If this is true, then the scene has been heavily reworked, and now it's impossible to neatly cut it (balls appear out of nowhere), but I like this sync. In this video included the ending of 6M5 Droid Battle, 6M6 Up the Wire and 6M7 The Great Dual (partially my mockups).

Hi everyone, today we have the first official cues at Hogwarts. It is also where the book and movie start to alternate between dark plot developments and lighter school shenanigans, so the score does the same. Hope you enjoy Cue No. 10: The Riddle Speech and No. 11: Off to Class!

This is not exactly what you're asking as it contains everything but I recently made a complete edit using OST, FYC and the Isolated Score that I uploaded on YouTube:
When possible, the loops, edits, trackings from the film and the microedits from the OST have been removed. This improves a lot the listening experience in my opinion, you should give it a listen

Here's the original composition of The Speeder Chase cue before it was cut to pieces. It's over four and a half minutes long.
(Edit: corrected bass note at 1:49)

The saga continues...
Blame these two for setting me off, these just came to me immediately when I woke up today. I definitely could not be bothered to try and include dialogue from deep inside the 5.1 mix somewhere and have the actual music badly bleeding through half the time.
Both movies are basically cartoons and one is definitely scored like one so it's a match made in heaven!
Now back to looking for my lost medication...

I was surprised to discover how much longer the OST version of 'We Go Together' from TROS is, even accounting for how the two parts (2M6 The Medal and 2M7 Ship Trip) were separated in the film, though it seems pretty clear the original intention was for them to overlap as they do on the OST.
I'm fairly certain that unused march section was meant to accompany a brief deleted scene of Maz and Leia watching the Falcon depart: this exact dialogue is found in both the novelization from Rae Carson and junior novelization from Michael Kogge, and—in my opinion—seems to fit this bit of music perfectly.
I'm less certain about the longer first section: there's a brief exchange between Rey and Rose here in Rey Carson's novelization, yet it's still longer than seems to fit. I've cut quite a bit of it out. The title of 2M6 The Medal is also a mystery, because there is notably no shot of Han's medal anywhere in this scene in the finished film. My speculation is that perhaps that opening flourish accompanied a shot of it. Notably, a similar flourish accompanies the appearance of Leia's saber much later in the film (in 7M10 Leia's Sabre, the last part of 'Destiny of a Jedi'). Or maybe the medal was glimpsed later when Rey and Leia say their goodbyes.

I'm not a hater of PT, love them almost equally to OT. I know about all of their flaws of course. My least favourite is AOTC because of pacing and sloppy romance stuff. And you can't argue that aesthetics and worldbuilding is on the absolutely different level from OT. And I'm also love all this "dull" politic-diplomatic Senate stuff.
Plus I've started from TPM, and prequels never were hated in Russia like they were in the West or other parts of the planet.

An orchestral piece of music I wrote in the "spooky" style of Dukas, Lyadov, Berlioz et al. Enjoy!

ragoz350 got a reaction from Jay in RESTORED ISOLATED SCORE: Star Wars Saga (Unused Music Restored To Picture)
I tried to edit the cues 7M1 Dooku vs Obi-Wan and 7M2 Yoda Strikes Back, according to the sheet score. Of course, it's hardly possible to completely restore the score with the material that remained in the film (besides, it's not a fact that everything was recorded in the same way as written in the sheets), but it's possible to get a rough idea. I also "mockuped" a little missing fragment at 1:25-:35 and 1:38-:46.
Perhaps the most interesting thing here is that, according to the original intention, JW in 7M1 cue used active percussion rhythms only for Anakin's fighting, while Obi-Wan fights to the quiet rubbing the gong and timpani hits.
Also I included a 7M3 Finale here, along with my mockup of the one original piece, instead of insert with Imperial march (and also ultralittle fragment at 5:34-:37).
Again, thanks to @Manakin Skywalker for extracted music from the movie.

Returning to the prequels for a while...
some small detail...
I listened to "Are You a Jedi" from TPM a lot, and I didn't think that there might be any editing here, although this cue is a little slowed down in the film.
When I was looking at the score, I noticed one bar, which is absent on the recording (users on this board have probably known about this for a long time), where the general elegiac mood for a short moment gives way to a more playful one.
Honestly, it's difficult to understand whether this place was missed during the recording process, or cut out later. Anyway, I think it syncs with Anakin's objection to Shmi, ("Watto doesn't know I've built it...").
In the video, I had to cut out a pause in the dialogue, it seems that it matches better (marked it with b/w transition), although it is certainly not easy to find synchronization points here (for example, the cor anglais melody might have been intended for a longer shot with Shmi, who knows...)
If this really was editing, then this is perhaps the most "wise" editing in the entire film, the cue feeling some different way...

ragoz350 reacted to bored in Your Favorite Renditions of The Force Theme?
I personally think its uses in Revenge of the Sith are underrated:
I love when Williams takes the usually hopeful Force theme and manages it to make it completely dark and disturbing. It fits so well for a lot of Anakin's moments.
