  1. Yes, he also conducted Superman march, Imperial march and Throne room without the scores πŸ™‚ Conductors often do so. Seiji Ozawa conducted full symphonies without the sheet music for example.
  2. VIP not really. Maybe I was lucky to order early enough. I'm sure you will get the chance to order again in the future.
  3. I'm sorry for you. Fortunately I received my copy yesterday, also from soundtrackcorner.de
  4. Yes I never said so. I said for a composer it is more rewarding to be invited to conduct the best orchestras rather than receiving an overhyped award.
  5. The oscars are a farce. Who gives a damn sh.t? Invitations from the leading orchestras are much more important than all this academy awards bs. I doubt the Oppenheimer composer will ever conduct the Berlin Philharmonic (does he even conduct himself?).
  6. Right now only a CD release is announced. The video can be streamed though. No mention of a future Bluray release yet.
  7. He usually conducts the marches (Superman, Raiders, Imperial) without the scores. He should know them by now
  8. He looked much better/fitter in the Pittsburgh video from december. If I remember correctly it was very hot and humid in Japan so it's no wonder a 91 year old feels that. The white jacket makes him look older too.
  9. Shipping to europe: 29 $ Are they dumb? That's ridiculous. A single disc costs 18 $ and two discs 29 $. Even though it has the same size. I'd call that rip-off.
  10. You can add the three recent arrangements, as performed in Pittsburgh: -Scherzo for Motorcycle and Violin -Anakin's Theme (for Violin) -The Duel (for Violin and Cello, new arrangement 2023)
  11. I have to say that I prefer the sound of the Silva release of Jane Eyre. The alternates are a great find and much welcomed. Especially the short source piece is fantastic and it's a pity it has to end so soon. Heidi however sounds fantastic and better than the previous release that I own. All together it is a great release though. Hopefully more television work will be released in the future.
  12. Does this rule apply to all Williams scores from 2005 onwards, except for Revenge of the sith, which was recorded in London?
  13. A very nice video from 1991 with Williams playing some of "Somehwere in my memory" on the piano and talking about scoring the film:
  14. Is this a real person in the video? He doesn't blink 😲
  15. Since you are in germany you could have ordered at soundtrackcorner.de for 36.45 € inkl. Shipping πŸ˜€ But nice that you already got it. I will have to wait for a some more days...
  16. Yes that's possible, but a lot of work I would think. I like how Williams reconstructed parts of it and created the suite. It's nice that he added brass to the arrangements.
  17. So, I received the following message from Disney regarding the domestic taxes. What should I answer? "We appreciate that you've taken the time to contact us! There are two types of taxes charged when goods are imported into a country: customs fees and VAT (or similar tax). Customs fees are placed on physical goods that are imported into a country from another country or territory. These fees are applied to international sales, but never domestic (unlike VAT, JCT, GST, SST, HST, QST or similar tax, which can be applied to both goods imported into a country and goods sold locally). In general, the buyer is responsible for paying the additional costs such as duties, taxes, and customs clearance fees. In some countries, we are obligated to collect those as VAT on imported goods and to pay this over to the tax authorities. Most customs charges are due once the package arrives in the destination country. The amounts can vary widely and are often based on the price and type of item, package weight and dimensions, origin country, and the taxes, duties, and fees of the destination country. If a buyer and a seller are located in different countries, we inform buyers that additional duties and taxes (such as those charged at customs) may apply. This is to make it clear to buyers that they may be responsible for paying these additional fees. We would advise that you contact your local customs office for more detailed information. Please feel free to reach out if you have any further questions or concerns. Sincerely, Nathan Customer Service"
  18. Even the longest story has to end at one point. Finally, after three months of waiting, frustration, anger and excitement - I GOT MY COPY Well, it has a crack in the front case, but that doesn't matter at this point.
  19. Wow. this is even worse than my story πŸ™‰ I wonder what will happen at the post office when I will try to collect the parcelπŸ˜…
