Steve got a reaction from E-Wan in Which Berlin concert(s) are you planning to attend?
Please don't go to all three concerts and let others also have a chance to get tickets!

Steve got a reaction from Canyoubay Liever in John Williams & Berliner Philharmoniker 14th/15th/16th Oct 2021
So you can't afford 98€ to see one of your favourite composers conducting a world class orchestra? Maybe we should donate 1 € each for you

Steve got a reaction from TownerFan in John Williams & Berliner Philharmoniker 14th/15th/16th Oct 2021
I think it is an additional concert. If you look at the schedule they often have the saturday concert available for digital concert hall. Why would they not play live concerts on saturday? Would make no sense. And it is called "live stream" so that only makes sense when it is actually "live".

Steve got a reaction from GerateWohl in John Williams & Berliner Philharmoniker 14th/15th/16th Oct 2021
Best news ever if it really happens! Three concerts with the 2nd best orchestra ever and happening in my country

Steve got a reaction from Bayesian in SPOTLIGHT ON JOHN WILLIAMS: A Prospero Classical CD release featuring new recordings of JW film music
Jpc is my first choice for Bluerays and CDs. It's a small company from Germany and helps you avoiding Amazon. Prices are sometimes a bit higher but at least they pay their taxes.

Steve got a reaction from Will in What is your favourite opening title music to a John Williams' scored movie
"The Reivers" has a great opening too. I finally watched the full movie two weeks ago.

Steve reacted to Thor in SPOTLIGHT ON JOHN WILLIAMS: A Prospero Classical CD release featuring new recordings of JW film music
I was sent a physical copy today, no. 2159. Wow, I'm impressed by the lavish "book"-style cover (like those old STAR WARS RCA 2CD sets that I used to own), the glossy paper and general presentation. Congrats to Basil and the Swiss team for putting this together!

Steve got a reaction from SteveMc in “Virtuoso solos” in Williams scores
The horn solo in the beginning of "Leia's Theme" is quite virtuos. The same goes for "Luke and Leia"

Experience a rare and intimate soundscape of modern cinema’s greatest music featuring the scores and stories of the Boston Pops’ own Laureate Conductor John Williams. Led by Keith Lockhart, this magical evening includes the orchestra performing the breadth of Williams’ music — from iconic (Star Wars) to rarities (Stargazers from E.T.), accompanied by exclusive intimate interviews with the world’s most beloved film composer telling the stories behind his music and career.

Steve reacted to GerateWohl in Films you wish were scored by Williams
I really would have liked to hear, what Williams would have done to the Lord of the Rings trilogy.

Steve got a reaction from SteveMc in Marion's theme vs Princess Leia's theme
Princess Leia's Theme is one of Williams' most complete compositions ever. The climax is second to none. Incredible piece that never gets boring (at least for me).
Marion's Theme, even though I like it a lot, always felt like the "little sister" of Leia's Theme. It's a great composition too, but lacks the incredible climax that Leia's Theme has.

Steve got a reaction from Bayesian in John Williams to score Spielberg's next?
Spielberg should really make a JW documentary, now that JW is still alive and can be interviewed. Spielberg must have tons of video material from sessions and other meetings. Would be really interesting. 8th February 2022 would be a good release date.

Steve got a reaction from Will in John Williams to score Spielberg's next?
It's better getting a BFG-like score than getting no score at all no? Btw. I think BFG is a great score.

Steve reacted to Thor in John Williams to score Spielberg's next?
He should, yes, just as Tornatore has done with Morricone recently. He managed to get some interview quotes before his passing. Spielberg should do the same.
