Steve got a reaction from SteveMc in YouTube videos with John Williams | Concert clips | Interviews
Since I found no topic on that, I thought this would be a nice place to post new YouTube videos with the maestro himself either conducting, playing the piano or being interviewed.
Note: Please only post videos with Williams himself in it
I'll start with some recently posted videos, both that I've never seen before.
1980 Filmharmonic - Conducting the London Philharmonic Orchestra:
Seiji Ozawa conducting the Boston Symphony with John Williams playing the piano on "The Tennis Game" from "The Witches of Eastwick". Ozawa also conducts "Flying Theme".
Olympic Spirit performed in the studio:
Williams conducting "Olympic Spirit" with the Boston Pops:

Steve got a reaction from Thor in John T. Williams, the pianist
No sure where else to post this video. I think it fits this topic as the master is playing the piano here. Just posted today, I have never seen it before.

Steve got a reaction from BrotherSound in Favorite John Williams score of the 2010s
Absolutely! Some say his 2000s and 2010s scores are nothing special and repetitive. However I would say some of my favourite Williams music was written in that period. The amount of amazing music he has written in his senior years is incredible. And no, music doesn't need to be innovative to be good!

Oof, tough one. For me, the three contenders are:
War Horse: The score really takes you on a journey, and the OST is an incredible distillation of that journey. The themes are schmaltzy, but they're so beautifully schmaltzy. Lincoln: There's something so mature about Williams' musical voice here. Its contribution to the film is definitely subtle; the writing is more impressive on the album, which I think is a really expertly curated listening experience. The Force Awakens: Rey's theme alone would make this one a contender. Beyond that, there's a wealth of great writing, along with some relatively pedestrian moments. It certainly beats the other two contenders in terms of quantity. Quality-wise, I can sometimes feel Williams straining a bit to get back into the Star Wars mood without simply mimicking his older styles. Still, there's a great energy and enthusiasm here that's even more impressive coming from an octogenarian. I'll give some love to Lincoln in the poll. Ask me again on some random day and TFA would be the most likely choice, but it could go to any of the three.

WAR HORSE ,of course, of course😁.
Nice to see the fans agree.

Steve reacted to BrotherSound in Favorite John Williams score of the 2010s
The past decade proved to be a surprisingly fruitful period in John Williams' long career, with nine film scores in a wide stylistic range, including a third Star Wars trilogy with almost ten hours (!) of music recorded. And, in my opinion, it's given us ample music that compares favorably with his (or anyone else's) classic scores of the past. If John Williams had written nothing but the nine scores of the 2010s, he'd still be one of my favorite composers!

Steve reacted to King Mark in What do you think is Williams composing now?
I want to hear the new theme for the Vienna Orchestra
I 'd like him to do some kind of Star Wars Symphony Suite totally reimagining the themes

Steve got a reaction from SteveMc in What do you think is Williams composing now?
A concerto for percussion, for Martin Grubinger.

Steve got a reaction from bollemanneke in Why is John Williams considered one of the greatest film composers?
Repetition can be an issue, I agree. Luke's theme gets used a lot in the original trilogy, too. However, I don't agree that HP1 has too much Hedwig's Theme or the music being too loud. Home Alone 2, yeah, the theme repetition is a bit annoying even though I really like the melody.

Failed troll attempt. The arguments make no sense and are completely wrong. This troll has watched no movies with Williams' music. Otherwise he wouldnt write such bs.

Steve got a reaction from Martyprod in I'm Starting to remaster all my Williams Videos. First : 50 years a Salute to Film Composers (Boston Pops)
Sound good. Thanks for all your effort! Thanks to you I was able to watch many Williams performances which I probably would've never seen otherwise

Maybe this royal clown is overrated as a writer?

Steve reacted to Martyprod in I'm Starting to remaster all my Williams Videos. First : 50 years a Salute to Film Composers (Boston Pops)
Hello There,
some of you maybe know my youtube channel martyprod2 where i posted around 80 Tv pro video of john wlliams conducting all kind of stuff, including his own music (or not).
Some parts of my collections come from myself, and some from someone very nice from here..
I Just started to remaster each video one by one in Full HD, Widescreen, pictures improved upscaled and cleaned, colors eventually reworked and a bit of new color gradding, and sound normalized (my hearing illness actually forbidd me to do more than that for now). I take this opportunity to post the stuff that i have in my collection and didn't posted yet, like this one, and which is the first one to be remastered. For the videos already posted, for the ones with few comments, i'll erase them and they will be replaced by their remastered version, and for the ones who have lot of comments, i'll let them online and will post the remastered version next to it.
I'll post more soon, but it take a long time

Steve reacted to JohnnyD in John Williams & the Vienna Philharmonic: January 18/19 2020
I finally received the Blu-Ray and CD set. After watching the concert and listening to the CD, here are my impressions. The Maestro conducting one of the greatest orchestras in the world; the Maestro and the Vienna Philharmonic. My response to that combination: it is about damn time. Seeing this concert and listening to the CD made me shed tears of joy and awe. From The Flight to Neverland all the way to The Imperial March, this concert was legendary. Flawless experience; the sound is phenomenal, and the performances breathed new life into the Maestro's already life-filled music! It must have been a blessing to see this concert in person, but having this Blu-Ray and CD set is the next best thing, and I can re-live it for many years to come. Truly phenomenal.

No question to me. "With malice towards none", but the pure piano version is by far my favourite. And the best thing about it - it is even accessible for a lousy piano player like me.

Steve got a reaction from TownerFan in The Legacy of John Williams (Website & Podcast)
And here Williams was totally wrong. Listen to Malcolms solo albums, they are amazing, especially the Tchaikovsky Violin Concerto is mind blowing! Malcolm's tone might not be as bright as Tim Morrison's, but it is still great. IMO the best studio trumpet player ever.
Also funny that Malcolm was Goldsmith's favourite soloist.
Thanks Maurizio @TownerFan for this nice episode and your great work!
