The Berlin concerts have been my favourites of his concerts that I’ve attended, so I’m DEFINITELY going! My best friend (and fellow Williams-fanatic) turns 30 on the 5th, so it’s really a no-brainer!

I will definitely be there. Unbelievable that he is doing this at his age. But he lives for music and it keeps him healthy🙏🏻. And I am looking forward to meet up with other JWFan members again😊

I wouldn't have thought, that he goes again for three concerts in a row. Last time he was quite exhausted after three days, four if you count the open rehearsal. for youngsters. He spipped the last encore "Princess Leia's Theme" on day two and three already. So, I would have thought, he cuts it a little shorter next time.

Yes, there are composers, that I like primarily for their great themes, like Elmer Bernstein, John Powell or Joe Hisaishi. And there are others, that I like for their way of musical textures, motivic development, variety, poliphony, counterpointing, harmonization, rhythm etc. like Danny Elfman, Don Davis, Dario Marianelli, Franz Waxman.
There are few, who seem to have it all. John Williams is for me one of them. Hans Zimmer wins for me on none of these fields. But as I said, that's just me. But the Lone Ranger theme in that video is really nice. Thank you for the hint.

I have someone never managed to catch Pearl Jam live.  Never saw Soundgarden either, though I did see Audioslave a few times

Pearl Jam - fanTAStic!  As good as their 90s work? No, of course not.  But among the best rock albums of the 2000s for sure

Lightning Bolt - Liked the singles and Future Days, don't remember anything else
Gigaton - only listened once, don't remember a thing about it

The difference between your stance and some others' is some deciding that not only is that score or composer not worth your time and study, but that no one else is allowed to positively discuss the work without constant reminders that someone doesn't like the score.
 
As an example of themes that may not be evident on first listen to the album are in the sadly officially unreleased end credits from The Lone Ranger. The first one starts where I started this video, and the second a minute in. Both are lone-lined, memorable themes, but if you only listened to the first track of the album and gave up (and you're fully justified in doing that) you'll never hear and appreciate them. I know I'm not hearing probably hundreds of memorable themes because I don't find the surrounding score to my tastes.

I can't deny that. It’s probably true. But if I hear repeatedly music by a composer, that leaves me cold or that I even dislike, then my ambition to dig deeper is quite low.
One may claim, if I haven't explored everything in more detail, then I shouldn't judge on the work. On the other hand, I am not claiming, that my opinion was some kind of objective wisdom. It isn't. It is just my personal opinion, taste and preference. 
Never was a fan of Janis Joplin. Or Mike Oldfield. But I am sure, if I really digged deep into their musical work, I could find a lot enriching musical quality, that I missed so far. But there is so much music, that I like better. So, why spend the effort? To become some kind of expert? Not my goal.

Hmmmm. This is the type of UFO story I can see later-day Spielberg telling...he's often spoken about how, when he made CE3K, that version of himself would have flown away on the Mothership, but later in life, as a husband and father, he said he wouldn't.  So I always thought it would be interesting to see a film about Roy Neary returning to Earth after decades away with the CE3K aliens (i.e. ET). I mean, the guy had a wife and kids and essentially abandoned them, and it would be interesting to see how he, and they'd, react to his homecoming and how he'd adjust to life on a completely unrecognizable Earth. Dreyfuss is probably too old for the part, but you could recast for a younger Roy Neary (proving Einstein right).

All his scripts that we already know are in the past now.

There is another not unlikely scenario. Your kid likes Star Wars, but only the new Disney stuff and calling the OT boring and old fashioned.

Maybe this is going to be Fabelmans 2 where the young director gets kidnapped by extraterrestrials and then later makes some movies based on his experience. 

Man there are people that LOVE that score. I don't get it. Maybe I should give it the ol'... You know.
