  1. As one of the best arrangers in the business why did JW do so few of the original arrangements for his Boston Pops albums? I can only find a couple of arrangements JW did on the Jessye Norman album and Fiddler On The Roof, which is basically the entracte, end titles and main titles combined.
  2. The concert would be at The Royal Albert Hall in London and played by the London Symphony Orchestra. BBC Concert Orchestra if the LSO were not available. 1. Olympic Fanfare. 2. Heidi - Main title. 3. Sabrina. 4. Superman - March 5. The Cowboys Overture. 6. Space Camp - End titles. 7. The Olympic Spirit. 8. Dracula 9. E.T - Adventures On Earth (Full soundtrack version). Intermission. 1. Liberty Fanfare 2. The Towering Inferno - Main title. 3. Lost In Space - COP arrangement of both themes. 4. Jane Eyre Suite - 3 : The Return 5. Hook - The Flight To Neverland. 6. Harry Potter - Hedwig’s Theme 7. Schindler’s List - Main Theme 8. Jaws - Concert arrangement. 9. Jurassic Park - Concert suite. 10. Star Wars - End titles. Encores: 1. Raiders Of The Lost Ark - March 2. The Empire Strikes Back - The Imperial March It might be quite a long evening.
  3. I have never understood why the chorus was not included in the Jurassic Park suite. I think it adds depth and beauty to the main theme. As far as I know it has only been recorded twice on the original soundtrack and the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra recording of the main theme. Did JW not like it?
  4. I might be old fashioned but I prefer the pure video look rather than the fake 35mm look. I know nowadays in television it is used a lot in reality shows and soaps. Sorry that I cannot be more technical. Somebody might be able to help me out with the actual process that they use. Overall I really enjoyed the concert. The blu-ray is a great keepsake of a wonderful evening.
  5. Weakness is definitely the brass section especially noticeable in Summon The Heroes. Strengths are their enthusiasm and the percussion section. Timpanist really goes for it in The Lost World. On Summon The Heroes it is lovely to hear the harp. It is almost inaudible on the Boston Pops recording.
  6. I totally agree. The way the New Year’s Day concert is shot would have given the concert much more atmosphere visually.
  7. I am personally disappointed with the picture quality on Blu-Ray. Don’t like the filmic look. You lose the feeling that you are watching a live concert. Sound is fantastic though.
