Just to flag that the ‘deluxe edition’ has reappeared on Apple Music (& other services no doubt) as a new release. What they have actually done is included the JW recording of Adventures of Han to bring this up to 36 tracks. Pretty pointless if you have both albums already but worth pointing out to those who haven't taken the plunge I guess…

It’s my understanding (from the original LP notes) that Charles Gerhardt personally asked JW to add ‘Here They Come” when preparing the recording, thus expanding the suite to 6 movements so it wouldn’t have existed in concert form at the time of the Mehta recording. Sorry if thats been mentioned before. Interesting to see how this has evolved (for concert performance/recording) over the years

It wasn’t a version of Deploying the Spyders it WAS Deploying the Spyders. I also heard a cue from 1941 tucked away in there and some of Tintin. Someone liked the temp track a little too much me thinks & some of it has ended up in the movie (which btw was a complete and crushing disappointment to me-shes irritating as is the kid & I didn’t really buy into the McGuffin which is basically a brass compass). I wanted to love it but didn’t unfortunately

It wasn’t a version of Deploying the Spyders it WAS Deploying the Spyders. I also heard a cue from 1941 tucked away in there and some of Tintin. Someone liked the temp track a little too much me thinks & some of it has ended up in the movie (which btw was a complete and crushing disappointment to me-shes irritating as is the kid & I didn’t really buy into the McGuffin which is basically a brass compass). just watched this on Disney+ and was nice to see a generous amount of time given to JW recording there. I’d also never seen the footage of them recording the End Credits of Episode III before as well as the Battle of the Heros piece.
The documentary is not without its floors however, the major one being that Goldfinger (song and score) was never recorded at Abbey Road despite Jimmy Page’s recollection of playing on it there & a graphic which is actually 4 years out.
How many other mistakes are in there regarding accuracy of the recording of JW scores (or anything else for that matter), who knows? Anyway…
