    Yes.

Also, the first one is the least refined, and this last one is the most.

Just listened to the album. I have to be careful for my co-workers don't notice my tears. This score is wonderful! Loved it in 2019 and loved it again now.

The OST did contain pretty much all the important stuff, but it's nice to have the complete score.

It's so cool that after working on his concert and with John Williams on Solo, Powell's score for this movie is more... classical and less "Hollywood-like". I hope he never loses this on his future scores!

And finally, we have the last post for Deathly Hallows 2: the OST presentation!

There are no concert works unique to this film, but there is an extended version of the Epilogue ("All Was Well") in its place. The OST and the full score are both available for download as FLAC/MP3, and there are now clean openings and endings for continuous cues in the full score if you'd rather have those.

Thank you so much for going on this journey with us! Hearing from all of you on JWFan has meant the world to us both. We hope you'll stay tuned for future updates when we finish remastering Goblet of Fire. Until then, we're going to enjoy having 8 complete Potter scores in the style of John Williams!

We would love to hear everyone's thoughts, as always. And thanks @mstrox! It's unexpected for someone new to comment now, so I'm curious what you'll think now that the whole project is out there. Hope you like it if you get the chance to listen further. Thank you for your comment!

I personally always enjoy when an orchestra is pushed to its limits. Overwhelming action is definitely my favorite, as long as it's actual crafted chaos with every part of the orchestra being represented, and not just say... loud, overworked strings, brass, and percussion with ugly, loud synths.

Exactly! I love when Powell goes crazy with the orchestra and gives us such exciting moments. Don Davis used to do this as well, albeit in a much darker context, like in the Matrix trilogy.

But these days Hollywood seems much more in love with the ear-splitting walls of sound that Nolan and Villeneuve use so much.

Well I made the mistake of venturing to TORN and listening to an interview with the "fresh-faced" writers of this film and....well I'm not filled with hope. Looks like we're going to get another project that's 95% fan fiction written by two people with very little life experience and almost zero significant writing experience, especially at this level. One of which is a nepo baby.  But we're told not to worry because they grew up loving anime. Oh, and because Alan Lee and John Howe are involved.

One can only hope Boyens is actually writing this thing herself and just helping get her daughter a major screen credit (which has been known to happen). But I'm starting to get the same feeling I had early on about Rings of Power.

I’m not typically hyper-attentive to stuff outside of General, so I hadn’t been following your work closely, but I watched a few Deathly Hallows videos this morning and thought it was neat - nice work!  I’ll make an effort to stroll through the whole project soon.  Congratulations on successful completion!

Very nice!  One thing you might want to try is more tempo irregularities.  It feels too straight, not how humans would play this.  Sometimes dynamic and tempo shifts are exaggerated by real performers for effect but here, it's very controlled breaking the spell of otherwise fine writing.  There are also some instrumental balance issues.  The harp and celesta at 4 minutes are too loud in the mix.  Push those way back.  Take a listen of this very fine contemporary piece for an example of how harp and celesta sit in a real mix.  The harp starts the phrase and the celesta finishes it.  It's far more subtle in the sound mix.  Remember that sample libraries generally make the dynamics equal across instruments and that is not reality so without some tweaking, it sort of breaks the illusion.  Regardless, I enjoy your music.

Glad I finally got around to listening to this! I will say it's very difficult to properly capture the feeling of Oblivion's music in particular, as the town/explore tracks just so effortlessly develop and interweave melodies and textures while maintaining the overall tone and atmosphere of the piece. I'm happy to see that you captured that very well here! Especially when many others don't quite capture Oblivion's quality.

While I'm here I have also finished two new compositions that I'm fairly proud of. One's my first crack at a Chopin Nocturne inspired piano opus, and the other is my latest track in my work-in-progress sci-fi album "Journey Through The Stars" where I try my hand at more atonal/dissonant writing.

Man, crazy that Star Wars' own (co)creator wrote some bad fanfiction on the OT's backstory huh? Like why would you make Vader evil from the start and Obi-Wan and Yoda just give up? Some wacky stuff. Thank god those were just leaked scripts and no one wasted millions of dollars on those!
