For everyone complaining that all superhero movies are the same and people are getting bored, let's see the reaction to this.  Honestly, if Gaga is indeed playing Harley Quinn and their love story is told through song as they go around causing chaos around them it could be spectacular.

Yeah, Kang was supposed to be the next Thanos to the MCU but they weren't doing a very good job of establishing that. He was already defeated by Ant-Man, so why should the group at large be needed to take him on the next time? Honestly, the whole set up to the next Avengers has been terrible (who even are the Avengers right now?) and this might be a blessing in disguise. They have already made it clear they want to do Secret Wars so getting rid of Kang and replacing him with someone like Dr. Doom to face the Avengers seems a better play to right the ship at this point.

I refuse to vote because Surrender wasn't allowed to be the main song in TND

That was completely and utterly bonkers. I loved it, weirdly enough the only episode to immediately 'click' with me.

I just recently finished an edit of the Batman v Superman UE to make it more concise and actually focus on the story rather than all the other stuff that will end up leading nowhere. I cut the Knightmare stuff, I cut the whole desert opening (which we saw so we the audience knew it made no sense that everyone was arguing about Superman killing people when we know he didn't), I also cut the scene of Diana looking through the folder of the other metas complete with their corresponding logos for some reason. I also trimmed some of Lex's nonsense and tried to make him more serious (this was harder to accomplish but somewhat successful). I then ended the film on a hard cut of Bruce at the funeral talking about his feeling that something was coming that would set up the JL film, rather than the dirt rising on Clark's grave which was retconned anyway.

Ultimately, it's still a weak film but there is some good stuff in there, but it's overall just the wrong direction to take and basically was the death knell for the DCEU before it really started, as they were never able to escape audience's reaction to the film.

That's truly what bugged me about KOTCs...I was hooked up until (no offense to her) Marion showed up at the camp. Movie just nosedived there. There's an amazing Indy story there somewhere before that...but oh well.

At least The Last Jedi dared to try something different and not just repeat things over again and use 'member berries to tell the story. It wasn't everyone's cup of tea (mine included) but I appreciate that Johnson at least tried to do something different and move things forward, only for JJ to return and almost undo all the character work he did for no good reason.

As a huge Luke fan, I was at first quite upset with his portrayal and especially the ending. Upon further viewings and some reflection, I actually have accepted what occurred and can accept that Luke wasn't perfect. Hopefully Mangold will give us the same ending for Indy, a flawed man like we knew him and not a superhero. Whatever Indy's ultimate end fate may be, I'm just glad to get a little more time with the character.

I mean, its crap so why not. Maybe if it was half an hour shorter it'd be tolerable, but not an awful lot happens to justify its runtime.

Goldfinger reacted to Cerebral Cortex in Star Trek: Picard (2020 TV Series)
Some quick thoughts after watching the finale to picard 3.0: you are (not) alone:

    • The finale is TNG meets Star Wars meets The End of Evangelion. Trek has never been this Star Wars, even under Abrams. But that's okay. If Andor is Star Wars embracing the best parts of Trek, Picard S3 is Star Trek embracing the best parts of Star Wars. To live in an age where these two divisive fandoms can be bettered by finally taking lessons from the other is a great joy.

    • If we are to define "All Good Things..." as the left hemisphere ending to TNG, this is the full right hemisphere ending, in a good way. In fact, it's very satisfying finally getting fuller and richer arcs for these characters now that they can exist in a post-Gene Roddenberry Trek where characters don't have to be static in time and incapable of changing in profound emotional ways.

    • Stupid ideas are only as stupid as the lack of thought you put into them, something stupid on paper can work on film if you just find a good reason to explain why it should be there. The Enterprise-D coming back, on paper, should not really work, but they did a great job explaining why it feasibly should/could still be around.

    • Great Trek doesn't necessarily have to be perfect Trek. It's surreal seeing TNG getting the proper send-off the TOS crew got with Undiscovered Country. It seemed like such an option was always off the table, so there was never a possibility to hope for it. So to so quickly start to realize what it was you were seeing could only really be met with overall misbelief. But whereas TOS ended with film, TNG ends with television, which in the end seems kinda perfect. Kirk (William Shatner) was made to put at the front and center of big screen adventures, whereas Picard (Patrick Stewart) thrives in proper longer form stories.

    • Question what you love, but don't be as quick to doubt yourself for loving it.

    • Never doubt your ability to love something again.

    And...

    • There's nothing a good Patrick Stewart monologue can't fix.
