Taking copies out of the hands of other JW fans!  I don’t think I’d admit to that publicly.

If Jodie had been responsible for her stories and dialog, we could blame her. She's not the problem with the show.

Unfortunately, history will remember the lone female Doctor Who as a failed experiment that returned the Tardis to a man the first chance it got. Us fans know that's not accurate but history is cruel.

You're right, that show is marvelous.
I expected more fanfare, but I also just rolled out of bed.
Eric is one of the strongest, best characters on the show and the actor has tremendous range. He'll make an adorable Doctor.

According to Wikipedia, he's a political activist.
Having read some information about Mr. Gatwa, I can find no evidence of him being a trans person. Trans celebrities usually advertise the fact.

    I disagree.

Half a Life is a profound episode because it shows how the Starfleet crew is not permitted to let their personal emotions and relationship goals interfere with the natural progression of strange cultures.

Lwaxana is eternally horny. If she can't bed Picard, she wants attractive alien men. Charles Winchester III is this week's morsel. But his culture decrees that at a certain age, he needs to die. Even if he still can contribute to society and save his planet. It's part of his his society. It's expected.

But it's alien to her and she tries to rock the boat. In the end, the Prime Directive cannot be violated and she's forced to watch him die. Yes it's a downer because his society would rather kill him than have him go into exile or continue to save their world. It's a very stupid aspect of their culture, but we're looking through the eyes of our real world culture, where suicide is never a good thing. Lwaxana will need to wait another week for love.

You will see the same culture shock type of story in Season 5's The Outcast.

Thank the maker that Michelle Forbes' hairstyle never caught on.

We can blame two things. According to various sources, Gene was a very hard taskmaster in S1, so a lot of writers were fired or quit. Also, there was a writers' strike in S2 that left it shorter than the others. After the dust settled, I don't blame them for deciding to not revist the horror story and gross-out elements of the Conspiracy bugs. The writer credited for the story also came up with s1e18 Home Soil; Conspiracy was his last Star Trek episode. The script writer left the show in Season 2. It's possible these were casualties of the strike and Gene.

The S1 season finale The Neutral Zone introduced a plot device of bases being dug out of planets in both Federation and Romulan space, which became season 2's Borg. So writers picked and chose which plot devices would continue.

The concept of bodysnatching aliens who infiltrate Starfleet Command and influence policy would be used HEAVILY in Deep Space Nine, but they would be shape-shifting Dominion Founders instead of insects. (To a lesser extent, Voyager uses the same plot device when Species 8472-867-5309 simulates SF Command for a planned invasion.)

Unfortunately, the great promise of the Conspiracy bug aliens is never seen again

Although beardless Riker is very willing to eat worms here, yet bearded Riker hesitates when served gagh on the Klingon exchange ship in season 2. Inconsistent writers as TNG got its legs.

This is a game where you can click a setting to change the dialogue to mumbles and click another setting to change the gun sound effects to people going “pew pew.”  It’s not a cinematic experience.  Were you guys really expecting music editing to be the priority here?

He's far more memorable from his dual roles in Outlander, and I'm not just saying that because we see his manhood in the prison after some special time with Sam Heughan. I'll be in my bunk...

In GOT, he's both a punching bag and a punchline.

That was intentional, to sell the idea this was serious. It is ironic that a rapper who never swore in his songs would use that word, but that's why some markets use the tape delay, to censor out all the fuck words.
