Powell is attending the premiere tonight in NYC.

I'd love it if they did release a complete songs and score version for both films, particularly as the songs were cut in places for the current release and even the FYC version was missing parts of John Powell's wonderful score and direct lead ins/outs of some of the songs. Here's hoping!

The only way I think he won't come back is if he CAN'T. He had a nasty neck injury in 2023 but last November he said he was recovering and wanted to get back into writing music (songs and film scores) soon.

So I think he'll return if he's willing. I doubt Andrew Stanton wants to be the director who wants to kick Randy off the franchise he's musically defined for 30 years, even if he loves working with Thomas.

If you all remember, right after his statment post some interview that he was going to retire; it was Williams himself stated publicly that Spielberg is making another movie and 'you cant just say No to that' or something like that.
 
So it seemed only logical to assume that there would be yet another collaboration.
 
Now it is semi official but once the film's PR team starts the ball rolling we will see the final confirmation.
 
Or as Maurizio has stated that this news was not supossed to come out this early. We should wait for the formal confirmation from the studios etc. 
 
 

This movie would have been the opportune time to invite David Arnold back into the Hollywood fold.

I am so happy about this. I hope he composes the whole score and not have work by others for different parts of the film where variations of themes will be sufficient. And come on give the man his final Oscar. 

I am just waiting for him to be replaced by Lorne Balfe

If this is going to work out, I am more than happy and really looking forward to this.
 
What I am not looking forward to are the obligatory complains here on the forum how much the score is not as good as the old ones and on all the supposedly copy paste and the assumptions how much of it has actually been written by Bill Ross.

I think that answers the question.

Think this is a good move. If a filmmaker/composer want to use the John Williams theme, they should. I don't think anyone is obligated to use it.

Love John Williams' score for Richard Donner's OG film and love Hans Zimmer's score for Man of Steel. Don't think Zimmer needed to use the theme. But happy to hear John Murphy is in addition to new themes. 

As long as a I get a new love theme for Clark & Lois.

I had no idea Karpman was a fencing champion — super cool!

Laura Karpman certainly looks like a comic book character. 
 

Saw the movie (felt like it should have come out about 15 years ago), and only Laura Karpman is credited in the main on ends.

Listened to the score last night twice before it got taken off Spotify and am listening to it again. Without seeing the film (seeing it on Saturday) it sounds incredible! I really really love the Conspiracy theme, it's just so thrilling and sinister. The action cues and the emotional cues are on point.

What I'm still on the fence about is the Captain America theme. It's fine, but it doesn't pack the same punch as Henry Jackman's theme for Sam in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier nor is it as catchy as Laura's own theme for Captain Marvel. I also don't think it's used enough, which is also a problem I had with Benjamin Wallfisch's incredible score for The Flash.

Overall, the score sounds great even if I prefer the scores for The First Avenger, The Winter Soldier, and The Marvels more.
