Toillion got a reaction from Mr. Hooper in The Mandalorian & Grogu (2026 Film)
I have. The burger was fine, but I preferred the garlic chicken fries more. The real winner is Grogu's Blue Cookie Shake. That thing was good. So were thecheddar ranch tots. I'm a sucker and got all the cups too.

Went through the presentation. Overall, I enjoyed it; still heavy in synthetics, but I'd say this is Göransson at his strongest in terms of Star Wars music and orchestral works. Standouts would probably be The Mandalorian and Grogu (basically the original arrangement, but more focused in the orchestra and not as much in synths) and Grogu's World, the latter really reminded me of Accidental Tourist's lighter cues at times, though that could be because Grogu's theme does share a bit with that film's four note theme.

So the CD and LP only have 13 of these tracks, but we don’t know which ones?

Looks great. Nolan just knows how to make films with amazing conceptual look and feel.

Toillion reacted to ssMusic in The Mandalorian & Grogu (2026 Film)
@LB Makes Stuff What happened with the Kenobi score wasn't the fault of Natalie Holt. I believe the producers at Disney are to blame. I never thought Disney would ever think about disrespecting John William's themes but they did, and forced Natalie Holt to do so. There are moments where she was trying to hint at the classic Star Wars themes, but none of them came through. I think Natalie Holt was miscast as a composer in Kenobi, and Disney should have given the whole thing to William Ross (but even he wasn't allowed to use any of the Star Wars themes). I will never forgive Deborah Chow and Kathleen Kennedy for blatantly disrespecting William's music (and using a female composer who actually respects John Williams to do so). and also for putting out a crap TV series that breaks canon in so many ways.
There are many questionable and outrageous decisions that Kathleen Kennedy and Deborah Chow made on the score:
1. Holt wrote a young Leia theme that was supposed to reference John William's Leia theme (even all the way down to using a solo flute), but execs. discarded it because it sounded "too much like a Disney princess" - and to that I say, Did you forget that Leia is a princess of Alderaan??
2. Holt actually sang on the score. (There was supposed to be a vocal line that played for Reva), and it didn't end up in the final series, because the score needed to be "more modern".
3. Holt wrote an intimate chamber style friendship theme for Obi-Wan and young Leia that only appears once!
3. The lack of any interviews from William Ross should make anyone suspect something was wrong. And yet it appears Ross had more freedom than Holt?? And even he could only hint at the Star Wars theme without quoting them until Episode 6! Again, that is absolutely outrageous.
After all of this, John Williams (much like George Lucas) was probably frustrated with Disney. And it seems we have drifted further and further away from the template Williams established.
For anyone that wants a Kenobi focused story, I would suggest the novel, The Life and Legend Of Obi-Wan Kenobi by Ryder Windham. It's much better than the series we got.

I really hope this score is closer to Mando Season 2's overall style. In terms of the Disney Plus scores, I think it's the most enjoyable as a whole in comparison to the others. Shirley's contributions ended up being meh overall (despite having some standouts here and there), Kiners have fallen off for me personally, and Holt was plain aggravating (especially with the whole putting her over Bill Ross in marketing). I think Ross and Giacchino's contributions are really the only other ones I can say I liked as much as Göransson, even though they didn't have the best final mixes.

I have a feeling that half the music in this trailer had to have come from Sequel Trilogy marketing. Not necessarily a bad thing, but just kinda threw me off hearing Yoda’s theme, while Ludwig already has one for Grogu.
I don’t even think we’ve ever seen the sessions for seasons 1-3, but I imagine it probably was the FOX stage.
Album out on May 15th digitally by the way

Well deserved best score win for Goransson. He’s by far my favorite composer working today and I think he’s a strong contender to be the modern GOAT. I think he’s a lot better than Zimmer personally.

Toillion got a reaction from Cameron1138 in Steven Spielberg Developing a Western Movie
I’m guessing this is very early in development so it would be a tall ask to have JW score this when it’s ready. It would be cool, if he was up for it, to write a theme now before they even start filming.

Toillion got a reaction from ragoz350 in And Baby Makes Three (1966)
I just watched this episode over my lunch break. I thought it was pretty funny, and the music was catchy. The original video posted here was gone, but I found this one. This doesn't have the cast montage.
Check out this video at 15:21. I think maybe the original video didn't have this?

Forty years ago and longer people were used to creature animation by stopmotion and they loved it, me included. You can have flawed CGI and still have a great movie. Who's imagination is not capable of processing a story in spite of imperfect special effects probably shouldn't watch science fiction but stick to comedies and social dramas.
And you shouldn't forget, we still got John Williams to spread his musical fairy dust on the images to make us believe what we see is fantastic AND believable.

Toillion reacted to stravinsky in And Baby Makes Three (1966)
This was fascinating to watch. Not only for what passed as comedy in those days but also just the thought of how many such unaired pilots were produced. Never to be seen again or even broadcast.
I know the tapes for such an obscurity will be lost to time but I'd pay for a CD release of this tiny score if it were made available along with some of his other TV projects of the era. If only for the gorgeous little moment at 23:22 which lasts all of 12 seconds! A tiny bitonal variation on "Hushabye Baby". Unfortunately there's a bit of mag wow on the video but underneath that you can hear how masterfully Williams voiced the woodwinds. The placing is exquisite. It's absolutely beautiful. Just a trifle but an illustration of the genius inherent within and the greatness still to come.
