What Is The Last Score You Listened To? (older scores)
lonzoe replied to Ollie's topic in General Discussion
Are you serious? Are you? Even a blind man can see I was talking about Superman. You know the Superman the movie. A 35 year old score. No where do I indicate that I was talking about Man of Steel, no where. JFC. I apologize. I misread your comment. There have been some versions where Jonathan Kent lived long after Clark became Superman. I overreacted and didn't want to know the character's fate until I've seen MOS. -

Wow it seems even with threads having nothing to do with MOS whatsoever somebody's giving away spoilers. Sheesh. Could've at least used spoiler tags Joey. Anyways just got done listening to Very fun and at times exciting MI score from Giacchino. Seems like he was able to do more compared to his last MI score, which I also enjoyed. -
So many good ones, but since today's Elfman birthday. http://youtu.be/2-JRUeym4Qs

Happy 60th Birthday Mr. Elfman.

Yeah and the same guy who directed that rubbish directed (and wrote the screenplay) for the upcoming Ender's Game movie.

You gotta thing for Mel Gibson or something? Nope, though I think Gibson's a great actor. I just needed an excuse to listen to Forever Young again and decided to do sort of a marathon of scores to Gibson movies. Those four were the only scores I own from his movies. -

I also believe 2008 was a highpoint in Elfman's career in the last decade. Each score from that year by Elfman hit a different spot for me. -
It's a diverting film. I enjoyed it more than last year's March flop John Carter, both score and film. I figured it was that type of movie. I want to see it but it's not something I'd rush to the theater to watch. More like a rental.

Wow 27 tracks!!! I can't wait for this score. Elfman's score is the only thing I'm looking forward to about the film, which feels like a sequel to the disappointing Alice in Wonderland (2010) than a prequel to Oz.

I see what you're saying, but it was a 1987 score.

Actually, I was joking. No harm done...I hope... I like "FM+LB" (or, to give it its U.K. title "Shadowmakers") a lot, and "The Untouchables" a fantastic score. Try to puschase "The Thing": the most un-Morricone Morricone ever, and it's brilliant. No harm done. Sorry I didn't realise you were joking. -

You mean Morricone fan? Though I am a fan of Goldsmith's work (the scores I'm familiar with anyway). Actually those three scores out of Morricone's 500+ scores are the only ones I own by him sadly. But I enjoy his scores and hope to expand my Morricone collection some day. His scores tend to leave a strong impression on me while I listen to 'em and long after it's concluded. -
